The New Daughter of the Family. (Sequel to An Angel's Voice.), chapter 20

Sara started walking down the road. She had no idea where she was, but she didn't care. She was pissed. Pissed at everything and everyone. Pissed at Mike, for obvious reasons, but she was especially mad at her dad.
"Why the fuck did you have to go?" she whispered, tears running down her cheeks. She stared down at her shoes and just kept walking. Someone grabbed her arm. She started screaming, but the person clapped a hand on her mouth.

"Shhh, it's just me." It was Tre. She tore from his grip and turned to face him.
"What the fuck!? You almost gave me a fucking heart attack!"
"Sorry," he said sadly. Sara just turned on her heels and kept walking. "Wait! Where are you going?" Tre called after her.
"None of your buisness," she snapped. "Somewhere away from you, Mike, and everyone else." Tre stopped and watched her walk slowly away.
"Why?" he called out to her. She turned once again, looking at Tre with tears pouring out of her eyes.
"He's dead, Tre," she sobbed. "He left me here and I can't-" she sighed. "I can't deal with this right now."
"He's not dead," Tre said. "He's fine."
"What?" she whispered. Tre laughed and ran up to her.
"They brought him back! He's ok!" She gave Tre a small smile.
"He's alive?" Tre nodded.
"YES!!" he shouted, sweeping her off the ground and holding her tight. She gladly hugged him back, laughing and crying at the same time. They stood there for what seemed like forever, holding each other close.
"I love you, Tre," she said suddenly. Tre smiled and kissed her sweetly.
"I love you too," he stood up and grabbed her hand, leading her back into the hospital to see her dad.

"Thank god you found her," Adrienne said, jumping up and hugging her daughter.
"I'm fine, mom." Sara said, laughing. Adie pulled away and looked at her thoughtfully.
"Your dad wants to see you," she said, smiling. Adie led her into the room where Billie was laying on the bed, eating some crappy hospital food. Adie walked out and closed the door, causing Billie to look up.
"Hey," he said. He was bandaged around the waist. But, surprisingly, that was it.
"Hi, dad," she said sitting next to his bed. "How do you feel?"
"Fine. But this hospital food tastes like shit," he said, shoving it aside. Sara just laughed.
"I thought you wouldn't make it," she said. She suddenly felt ashamed for saying that.
"Yeah. Tre told me that I almost died," he looked at her. "Are you alright?" She laughed a little.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" he looked sad.
"He also told me what Mike did," Sara frowned slightly.
"Oh, yeah. I'm fine, really."
"Are you sure?" She looked at him and smiled assuringly.
"Positive," he smiled back.
"It was weird..." he started.
"What was?"

"Well, you're going to think I'm totally insane, but..." tears started trickling down his cheeks. "I saw my dad. He looked just like he did when I was ten." Sara didn't know what to say. "I miss him." He looked up at her and smiled. "He would have loved you to death. I wish you could have met him." She took his hand and smiled.
"I wish I coud have, too, dad," he slowly and painfully moved over to let her into his hospital bed. She gently climbed in as he reached his arm around her waist.
"The doctor says I can go home tomorrow," Billie said.
"That's good. What's the damage?"
"Only a couple broken ribs. I almost bled to death, though."
"Yeah. Do you want me to get you something good to eat? Like coffee or a sandwhich?" he smiled.
"No, I'm fine." The door to the room slowly creeped open.
"Billie?" Mike said, poking his head around the door.
"Hi, Mike. Come on in," Billie said. Mike cautiously came in and sat in the chair. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Just wanted to see how you were doing," he said, looking at Sara. She ignored him. Mike sighed. "Actually, I came to apologize." Sara looked at him. "I really didn't mean to hit you," he said quietly. "I just was so angry. Not at you, but at that punk who hit your dad." He looked at her with sad eyes. "I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. I'm sorry." She smiled.
"I understand. I forgive you, Mikey." He smiled.
"So, you didn't actually come to see if I was ok?" Billie asked in a snobby tone. "Alright, I see how it is," Mike laughed.
"Shut up, Billie." Billie looked taken aback, but laughed anyway.
"Kidding. Man, I need some sleep. I'm exhausted."
"Yeah, near death experiences are pretty tiring," Mike said sarcastically. "Alright, I get it. I'm out." He got up and walked out of the room.
