The New Daughter of the Family. (Sequel to An Angel's Voice.), chapter 30

-Tre's POV-

Jason and I walked into Billie's front door, happy as can be. Man, that was some kick ass party! And we even came home completely sober! GO ME! Hey, why is Jakob crying? And Billie? Wait a second, I missed something here.

"Billie, what's wrong?" I asked, taking the lampshade off my head. Billie didn't even look at me.

"Sara's gone," he said quickly before following Jakob out the door.

"What?!" I screamed. I ran into the living room, and found Adie talking sternly to Joey. "ADRIENNE! WHAT is Billie talking about? He said Sara left!" She looked at me with tear stained eyes.

"He's right, Tre. She's gone." My eyes got wide as I looked at Jason Freese. He had the same expression on his face.

"But- But-" I stuttered.

"TRE! COME ON! We gotta go find her!" Jason exclaimed, throwing my coat at me. I grabbed it and we raced out the door.

-End of POV-

"Joey," Adie said sternly. "I'm going to find your sister. And you're coming with," she said, grabbing his coat.

"No. I don't wanna go," Jakob said.

"TOO BAD!" Adie said, a little louder than she meant to. She took a deep breath.

"Let's go." They walked out the door.

-Sara's POV-

I walked down the highway in the darkness. I was scared, and I wanted my mom. I stopped as lights came racing down the highway. It was a car. And it stopped right beside me.

"Need a ride?" someone asked. It was a man. I hesitated, but got in. "Where to?" he asked. I didn't look at him.

"Uh, Berkley train station," I said.

"Sorry," the man said. My heart was pounding.

"Why?" I asked, still not looking at him.

"You're coming with me." Oh, god no. Not again. I finally looked at the driver. Mike Dirnt. "I'm taking you home." I took a deep breath.

"Mike. Thank god it's you." He smiled.

"Good to see you, too. So, I got one question."

"Ok, shoot," I said. I was so happy it was Mike. Even if he was taking me home, I was so glad to see him. Man, dad is going to kill me.

"Why were you walking down the highway at night?" he asked, the car picking up speed.

"Well, I-" His cell phone rang. He picked it up and held it to his ear.

"Hello?" I heard shouting on the other end. "Tre! Woah, slow down." His eyes suddenly got wide as he looked at me. Shit. He turned back to the front as he tried calming Tre down. "Tre! TRE! Settle down, she's with me. Yes, really. I'm taking her home. Yep, be there in a few. Bye." He hung up. I expected him to start screaming. But, to my surprise, he had an amused smirk on his face. "You're running away?" he chuckled. I nodded, looking at him confusedly. He shook his head. "You little fucker," he said, ruffling my hair.

"Wait, you're not mad?" He looked at me.

"Naw. I figure your dad will be mad enough for the both of us." I sighed.

"Probably," I said, looking out the window.

"But, hey," he said, punching me lightly in the arm. I looked at him. "I got your back." I laughed.

"Thanks, Mikey."

"No problem. Let's take you home."
