The New Daughter of the Family. (Sequel to An Angel's Voice.), chapter 5
Sara walked into the kitchen and found Billie and Mike sitting at the table.
"Hey, dad." He looked up and smiled, looking very tired.
"Hi."
"Do you want some breakfast?" She asked, sitting on his lap.
"No, thanks. I'm still a little.... Well, I'm just not feeling to good." They heard the front door open and slam shut. Kevin came in running.
"What are you doing in your pajamas?" He demanded. Sara looked at him funny. He just smiled. "The Hot Spot opens at five." Sara grinned. "You're not going in your pajamas, are you?"
"No. Just let me shower and I'll go to the mall and pick something out and-"
"Wait, wait, wait." Billie said. Sara and Kevin looked at him. "Where is this 'Hot Spot' place? Better yet, WHAT is it?" Sara shrugged.
"Oh, you know, a... resteraunt." Billie eyed her suspiciously.
"A resteraunt, huh?"
"Yeah, you know... You hang out, eat, socialize..."
"It's a night club, isn't it?"
"Ok, fine, yes it is." Sara said. She looked at Billie pleadingly. "Please, dad? I've been there before. I'll be with Kevin and Jack and-"
"Woah, hey." Tre said, entering the kitchen. "Where are we going?" He asked, looking at everyone. Sara looked at him.
"Nowhere. Dad, come on, please?" Billie rubbed his forehead.
"Well...."
"Pleeeese?" He sighed.
"Ok. I guess you can go.
"YES!" Sara and Kevin cheered.
"But-" Billie added. "You have to take Bruce with you." Sara froze and looked at her dad.
"He's HERE?!"
"Yeah.... He just came.... unnoticed." Sara sighed.
"Why did he have to come?" Sara moaned. Kevin looked confused.
"Who's Bruce?" He asked.
"He's my body guard guy." Billie laughed.
"No, he's not. He's just a family friend who happens to watch over you."
"Who happens to hold a gun." Mike smirked. Billie eyed him.
"You're not helping." Sara looked at Mike.
"Can't we take Mike instead?" Billie shook his head.
"Mike's coming with me and your mother to go-"
"Woah, wait." Mike interrupted. "I never agreed to that." Billie looked at him.
"But, I thought-"
"You thought wrong." Billie groaned.
"But I don't wanna go to the flower show with her all by myself. Mikey, I thought you were gonna help me out."
"Sorry, dude." Mike said, smiling up at Sara.
"I'm going to a night club tonight." Sara smiled back.
"YES! Oh, thank you, Mikey! I owe you one." She kissed his cheeck and ran into the bathroom to shower.
"Wait, what about me?" Tre asked. Billie smiled at Tre.
"Tre. My best friend Tre. I love you, dude. I really do." Tre sighed.
"Alright. I'll go with you to the damn flower show." He sulked away and got dressed.

Billie and Tre sat on the couch watching MTV when Sara and Mike got back from the mall.
"Hi dad." She said, running into the bathroom to change.
"Hey, guys." Mike said, joining his bandmates on the couch.
"Hey, Mike. How'd shopping go?" Tre asked.
"Great. You should see her outfit. She looks very very-" Billie lifted his eyebrows at him. Mike cleared his throat. "Uh, nice."
"Well, what do you think?" Sara asked, coming out of the bathroom. Billie and Tre gawked at her, their eyes wide.
"Very.... Nice." Tre stuttered. She was wearing a short black skirt with a skin-tight red tank top and a jean jacket and high- heeled black shoes.
"There is no fucking way you are wearing that in public."
"Why not?" She asked. "You don't like it?"
"Well." Billie said, covering Tre's eyes. "I'd like it better if the skirt was three feet longer and the red shirt about four sizes bigger."
"What? I don't look good, do I?" Tre slapped Billie's hands away.
"Oh, you look just fine." He said, not taking his eyes off of her. "Just.... Fine."
"Ok, it's settled then." Mike said. "Let's go. Billie, you might want to clean up the drool." He said, pointing at Tre.
"I'm not drooling." Tre said, wiping his chin just to make sure. Sara and Mike made for the door.
"HEY WAIT!" Billie shouted after them. But they had escaped.
"Hey, dad." He looked up and smiled, looking very tired.
