The New Daughter of the Family. (Sequel to An Angel's Voice.), chapter 8
Billie woke up and streched. He looked at his sleeping daughter and smiled.
"Hey." He whispered, poking her lightly in the ribs trying to wake her up. "Hey you, get up. We gotta pack and get outta here. Your brothers are waiting. Sara." He poked her harder, causing her to stir.
"I have a better idea." She said in a muffled morning voice. "Lets leave them at their friends and just stay a while longer." She turned and faced him. "Better yet, let's just leave them there all together." Billie laughed.
"Sorry. Your mom wouldn't allow it."
"Fine." She murmured.
Tre came barging in. "HEY! YOU'RE UP! Ok, so I called Jason. You know, Jason Freese? Yeah, he's like my best friend but anyways, so I called him and he said that..... Uh.... Oh, shit. Now what did he say?" Tre looked at the ground trying to remember what Jason had said. He looked up and smiled a goofy smile. "Anyway, he said something. I hope it wasn't anything important. Anyway, glad you're up, now to go wake up Mike." He smiled again and ran out of the room.
"I swear all he drinks is caffine. There is no way anyone can have that much energy in the morning." Sara said, rubbing her eyes.
"TRE FUCKING COOL! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" They heard Mike shout from his bedroom.
"Mike's up." Sara said. Billie laughed.
"Thanks to Tre." Mike came in their bedroom dripping wet.
"Why we decided to include that guy in our band is still a mystery to me." He roared.
"Uh, because he's the best drummer in punk history, remember?" Billie said, laughing.
"Oh, why thank you!" Tre said, jumping on the bed.
"Tre, get off." Sara said, trying to push him off. Tre laid on top of her.
"Ah, comfy."
"Ohmygod, Tre. Get off." She said. "You are so heavy." Tre looked offended.
"No I'm not!"
"Yes you are. Dad, a little help?" Billie shoved Tre, causing him to land hard on the floor. "Thank you." She got up and made her way to the door. "Hi Mike." She said, brushing past him.
"Hi." She closed the door to the bathroom. Tre heard the shower come on and he ran to the bathroom door. He stood there, waiting.
"What are you doing?" Billie asked.
"Shh. Wait for it...." They heard her get in the shower. "NOW!" Tre opened the door and grabbed something off the counter in the bathroom.
"HEY!" She shouted, peeking over the shower curtain. She grabbed a towel and ran out of the bathroom. Mike caught her by the waist.
"Woah, there. You can't go charging out of the bathroom in a towel."
"Well, then...." She squirmed, but Mike held on tighter. "You wanna go and get my bra away from Tre?" Mike lifted his eyebrow.
"No, by all means you go get it." With that, he lifted his arm and Sara ran down the hallway.
"TRE! When I find you...." Tre ran past her and into the bedroom. He was wearing her bra.
"I am so BEAUTIFUL! FUCK!" He shouted. Sara ran in and unhooked it. "HEY!" He shouted. "I fell so exposed." She punched him in the arm and went back into the bathroom, locking the door. Tre rubbed his arm. "Damn, Billie. She's got an arm, that one does."
-In the car-
"But do we have to go and get them right this minute? Can't we wait another week or so?" Sara complained. "I mean, it's not like they won't mind staying at Dylann's for a while longer." Billie smiled.
"Sorry. Mom's orders." Adrienne eyed Billie.
"Well, I want them back, at least." She said, looking out the window.
"Don't worry, Adie, we're here." Billie drove up the short driveway. Joey and Jakob were outside waiting. Sara got out of the car to help with bags.
"HEY SARA!" Jakob shouted, running into his sister's arms.
"Hey, Jakey." She said, kissing him on the forehead.
"Guess what?"
"What?" Sara squealed, sounding surprised.
"Ok Dylann, he's got this thing, right? This thing you can put in the pool."
"Ok."
"So, you put it in the pool, right?"
"Yeah."
"And then you run from inside the house, through the door, and into the pool thingy!" He screamed. "It was SO AWESOME!"
"No way!"
"YEAH! IT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!" He shouted. Billie got out and laughed.
"Hey, Jakob."
"Hi dad." He threw his bag in the back of the car and got in.
"Nice to see you too, son." Billie looked at Sara. "I think he likes you more than me."
"I think so, too." She said, smirking. He shoved her playfully. She shoved him back. Billie shoved her again.
"Don't start, you two. I'd like to get home." Adie said impatiently. Sara laughed and shoved Billie one more time before running and jumping in the car. Billie shook his head and got in.
-Four hours later-
"We're home." Billie announced.
"Finally." Jakob sighed. He got out and streched. Joey followed.
"Hey, Joey, wanna go inside and play video games?" Sara asked, punching him playfully in the arm.
"Nah. I'm gonna go take a nap." He grabbed his bags and went inside.
"I'll play with you, Sara." Jakob said.
"I have a better idea. Let's go swimming." She said, smiling. His face lit up.
"YEAH! I can show you my new moves."
"Moves?"
"Yeah, Dylann taught me how to do a real good belly flop!"
"Ok, go get your swim suit on." She pat him on the butt and he ran inside. Billie ran his hand around her waist and kissed her on the top of the head.
"Nice to see you and your brother get along so well."
"Yeah. But I don't know about Joey. We're not very close. Not like me and Jakob."
"Aw, he's just being a kid. He'll warm up to you."
"I guess you're right." They turned and watched Mike's old truck coming up the driveway. Tre hopped out and took a big whiff of fresh air.
"Aaa, love that California air." He grabbed his bags and stood by Sara. "Now what?" He asked.
"Well, Jakob and I are going swimming, wanna join us?" Tre nodded enthusiastically. He ran inside and slammed the door behind him.
Sara grabbed her bags and went inside.
"Joey! Wanna come swimming with us?" Sara shouted upstairs.
"No." Joey shouted back.
"Ok." She said to herself. She walked outside in her bikini and threw her towel on the lawn chair.
"Ok, Sara. Watch this. Mom, Dad, Tre, Mikey. You watch, too." Everyone turned their attention to Jakob, who was standing on the end of the pool. He ran and lept into the pool, landing stomach first.
"Ouch." Sara said, wincing. He came up to the surface, his stomach beat red.
"Wasn't that AWESOME!?" He screamed. Everyone nodded. Tre came up behind Sara and grabbed her from behind.
"Your turn!" He tossed her in. She held on to his arm, causing him to topple in behind her. "NOT COOL!" He shouted, his make up running down his cheeks.
"Come on, Mikey!" Sara shouted, motioning for Mike to jump in.
"Don't think so." He said, shaking his head.
"Aw, come on." Jakob whined, standing beside Sara. "Dad, how about you?"
"Don't have to ask me twice." He said, jumping in. He picked Jakob up and threw him to the other end of the pool. Jakob laughed hysterically.
"Do it again! Again!" He said. Billie did it over and over again, Jakob laughing the whole time.
"Ok." Billie said, out of breath. "Let's take a breath." He grabbed a water bed and laid it in the pool. He hopped in it and put his sunglasses on. Sara and Jakob sat on one, talking and laughing and splashing each other. Tre laid on the other one, snoring loudly.
"Hey." He whispered, poking her lightly in the ribs trying to wake her up. "Hey you, get up. We gotta pack and get outta here. Your brothers are waiting. Sara." He poked her harder, causing her to stir.
