Adrienne's Pain - Sequel to Jamie's New Love, chapter 1
What Up? My name is Adrienne Dirnt. My mother just got remarried to Pete Wentz. I am thirteen years old and life sucks. I have so much pain to go through. Mom's marriage, school, at home, and another problem I have but we will get into that later. I seclude myself in my room and I don't talk to anyone. I'm an outcast at school because one, I like black, two, my new dad is Pete Wentz, three, I don't talk to a lot of people, four, I don't give a shit about anything, and five, I walk alone. So, if you are wondering about my pain, read on but I must warn you, I have been doing this for a while.
"Adrienne, get your ass out of bed and come get some breakfast," mom said, banging on the door. She has no idea what I do in my room and she never will. I'll make sure of that.
"I'm not hungry," I answered.
"I don't care. You haven't eaten in four days. Come get some food," she demanded.
"NO!" I yelled from the inside.
"That's it," she said, then walking away.
I wondered what she was going to do.
Half an hour later, I hear screws coming loose. I looked at my door. The hinges were coming loose. I first thought of Pete but I remembered he was at a local benefit concert with the guys.
"Mom, leave my door alone," I demanded.
"No. I am your mother and I will do what I want," she said sternly.
I didn't say it but I would just ask Pete to put it back on and I would help him do. He would defiantly do it.
Before the door was off, I hid all my knifes, razors, and all my sharp blades in the drawer so my mom wouldn't see the blood stains. (You probably figured it out. My pain. I cut).
The door fell in and I leapt back.
"Now Adrienne Nicole Dirnt, you will get your door back when I can trust you enough and you start eating. When those things are accomplished, we'll talk," she said.
She looked at me.
"And take all that eyeliner off. You only need a fine line, like your father," she said. I had no problem calling Pete my dad. My real dad ran off when mom got pregnant. Well, that is what she told me.
"Mom, just go to hell," I said straight to her face.
"That is it, you're grounded from everything but the computer. I know you don't have friends so I'll be nice and let you surf the web," she said. She made me so angry when she said she knew I didn't have any friends.
Pete came home and he said hello to my mom. They kissed and all that good stuff.
"How is Adrienne today?" I over heard him.
"I took off her door today. She is grounded from everything but the computer. She hasn't eaten yet," mom answered.
"What me talk to her?" he asked,
"Your choice. You're her father. Stubborn, just like you," she said with a little giggle.
"Me? Stubborn? If you ask me, she is just like you in some ways. Isolated at thirteen. You were isolated at ten. She is stubborn, just like you used to be. You are a little now but not as bad," he explained.
"Hey. That's not nice," she said in a girly voice.
"Hey, you promised me you would never become one of those," Pete said seriously.
"I was just playing," my mom said, angered a little.
"I was kidding," Pete said, confused on what he did.
My mom didn't answer.
"Well, I'm going to go talk to her." he said. I ran back to my room as quietly as I could.
"Hey kid-o. You okay?" he asked.
"Sure," I answered, not taking my eyes from my knees.
"Come on, I have to be more fun that your knees. Look at me," he said, pulling my eyes to him with his index finger.
"Was my and your mom's conversation entertaining?" he asked.
"How did you?" I asked.
"I have bat ears. Remember, Clandestine Industries has a bat as their logo so I have adapted to bat features," he joked.
I could only smile.
"Was that a smile? It was. I have never seen you smile since I joined your family," he said.
He grabbed my wrist to put it around his neck so he could hug me. I winced in pain.
"Adrienne, what did I do? Why did you try to pull away?" he questioned.
"No reason," I said quickly. I tried to hug him but he resisted.
He grabbed my wrist and tried to turn it over. I tried to pull away from the strong grip. "Pete, I'm fine," I assured.
"Then, why are you resisting me to look at your wrist?" he asked.
"Because I am," I fought.
He fought back. I finally gave in and he turned my wrist over. He just looked at it in shock. "Adrienne, how long?" he asked in shock.
"Since before mom won the tickets," I said.
"Come on. We need to get you to the hospital," he said, trying to pull me out.
"Dad, please, no. Please. I can't get in trouble again," I said.
"Adrienne, you will die if you don't go," he said.
"Did you ever think I want to die?" I asked.
"Adrienne, you are not leaving for a very, very long time," he said.
"It's the only way to ease the pain," I explained.
"No it isn't, you can always talk to me," he said.
"Pete, you are my dad. I can't talk to you," I said.
"So?" he asked.
"Hey, can you get me novacaine?" I asked.
"Hell no That will stop your heart," he raised his voice.
"Pete?" I asked.
"Either die or come with me," Pete simply said.
