Adrienne's Pain - Sequel to Jamie's New Love, chapter 4
Okay, I got out of the hospital five weeks ago. I was cutting and not eating. That has all changed. I don't cut anymore. And I eat now. I feel fat because I've never had so much weight. I gained ten pounds every two weeks. I kept my promise to Pete so he has to keep his. Let's find out what they are.
"Pete, I have eaten and I haven't cut. Can I have wishes now?" I asked sweetly.
"Sure, I'll take you to the first one," he said, picking me up bridal style then kissing me on the forehead.
He kind of tossed me into the passengers seat of his black SUV. It just made me laugh.
He climbed into the drivers seat and headed down the driveway.
"So Pete, where are we going?" I asked.
"You said you wanted to play guitar so I arranged a special something," he hinted.
"Guitar store?" I asked excitedly.
"Not quite," he said.
He said that as we pulled into a driveway leading to a medium sized house. It was larger than ours though.
"Pete, where are we?" I asked nervously. I first thought it was a guitar lesson guy type thing.
"We are at one of my friends house. I've known him almost my whole life," he answered.
I hopped out and clung to his side as we headed up the stairs. Pete didn't even knock. The first thing that ran through my mind is that he had a second life.
"Hello," he yelled out.
"Hang on," a guy answered back. Then I thought he was dating a guy Ewh.
"Get a guitar while you're down there," Pete replied.
"Why?" they yelled back.
"'Cause I said so. Just bring your silver batman one," Pete responded.
We waited about five minutes and then someone broke the silence.
"Sorry Pete, I was writing a new song. Well, who is this?" he said, looking at me.
"Oh, this is Adrienne, my step daughter. Jamie's thirteen year old daughter. I promised her I would get her a guitar and have someone tech her because I only play bass. She wants electric guitar lessons. To be like Billie Joe," I explained.
"Oh, I remember..." they started.
I looked at Pete, he was shaking his head at him.
"Oh, anyway, why hasn't she started yet?" they said, starting a new conversation.
"Jamie wouldn't let her. We're not going to tell anyone," Pete said, looking into the persons eyes. Pete was serious.
"Okay. Don't blame me for something I haven't done," they said.
"Adrienne, you should know who this is," Pete said.
I shook my head.
"Well, this is the lead singer Patrick Stump, for Fall Out Boy," Pete answered.
"Sorry, I only listen to Green Day," I answered.
"Well, okay but I'm going to teach you guitar since we are in Chicago and not Oakland," Patrick said.
"Okay," Adrienne answered simply.
"Adrienne, I'm going to go run some errands, you are going to stay here with Patrick for a while," Pete explained.
"Okay," I said, looking at Patrick's guitar.
"Adrienne, do you like that guitar or something?" he asked.
"It's the coolest shape for a guitar I have ever seen," I answered
Pete left and I was with Patrick for a guitar lesson I guess.
Pete's POV
I left Adrienne with Patrick for her first guitar lesson as I headed for the guitar shop. I was going to look for a guitar for Adrienne, the one Patrick had, I wanted her to have one like that.
I arrived at the shop and I walked in.
"Hey Pete, haven't seen you for a while," Isaac said from behind the counter.
"Hey, you know Patrick's guitar, the silver one?" I asked.
"Yeah, what about it?" he replied.
"I need one just like it," I answered.
"Okay. Hang on." he responded, running into the back room.
He came back out with a guitar that was just like Patrick's but it was black.
"Perfect, she loves black. Thank Isaac. How much?" I said, holding it and examining it.
"Fifty," he simply said.
"Okay. I'll take it." I said, handing him the money.
