Down With The Moral Majority Because I Want To be The MINORITY, chapter 2

That day when Hayley got home, she logged onto www.geekstinkbreath.net, also known as GSB, to make a journal of what happened today.

Today I made a new friend!

Yeah, I find it hard to make friends so it's pretty cool. Plus it's a guy that's a friend. I haven't had a guy as a friend in ages as all the guys here are jerks. How are you all?

Of course she couldn't say it was Joseph Armstrong. Everyone would call her names, and no one would believe her. Not that she could blame them. She'd probably do the same. After a while, she got bored and logged off to go on another site.

The Armstrong family was having a nice dinner together.

"Hunny, when will Tre and Mike be down to start practicing for the new album?" Adrienne asked her husband, Billie.

"Oh...later in the week," Billie said, thinking.

"Oooh, my new friend is a huge fan of you guys. Can she come over one day and meet the guys?" Joey asked his dad.

"Sure. Just phone her or ask her tomorrow," Billie said.

"I'll ask tomorrow since I don't have her number," Joey stated.

"Jakob, how was your day?" Adrienne asked her son.

"Good. We had this silly teacher," he laughed.

"Silly. How?" she asked, curious.

"Well...she kept going on and on about how much she loves Green Day. Kept saying how cool my last name is and how good looking Dad is," Jakob giggled.

Joey looked at his little brother, then burst into hysterics.

"Either she was hinting something, or she is the oldest teenie on this earth," Joey said.

That comment resulted into other comments, which turned into a big family laughing session. Yep just how you would picture that family.

The next day at school, Joey and Hayley were walking to class.

"Joey. What do you think of people who say bad stuff about your father's band?" Hayley asked him.

"Well...no one has ever said it to my face. Suck ups. When the media say it and people on the Internet, I get a bit annoyed though. Why?" Joey asked.

But before Hayley could tell him, a few boys walked up to them.

"Well, if it isn't the little emo, Green Day loving, wrist violin player," one of the boys who had a rat face sneered.

"Number one: I'm not emo. Number two: Neither is Green Day. Number three: Wrist violin, what the fuck?" Hayley asked.

"Hey assholes! She isn't emo and neither is Green Day. If you actually listen to their lyrics, they're not emo. You radio listening idiots," Joey spat at them.

"Whatever, emo number 2," another one yelled, and they walked off.

"Fucking jerks. Don't know anything." Hayley glared at their backs.

"Yeah, anyways. Do you want to come over on Friday night? We can stay up, watch movies, annoy people on the Internet, think of revenge for those jerks," Joey asked.

"Sounds like a plan. But one thing is my mum is over protective, but she'll say yes," Hayley said, and Joey nodded his head.

After school, Hayley went up to her mum.

"Hey Mum...I was wondering, could I sleep over at my new friend's house on Friday?" Hayley asked.

"Well, I don't know...is he living with his mother or father?" her mum asked. She thinks just because their family is broken, every other family is too.

"Both. They've been married for a long time too," Hayley said.

"Okay. Just as long as you watch out for his dad," her mum answered. Another thing she thinks: Every male on this earth is a murderer that's going to kill Hayley in her sleep.

"Mum...he isn't some murderer. Geez, he's a well respected rock star," Hayley accidentally let slip and covered her mouth.

"What? He is in some band as a part time job? Well, I don't really think you should go..." her mum said, outraged.

"It isn't a part time job. He's in one of the biggest bands in the world right now," Hayley yelled.

"Next you'll say his the lead singer of that Green Plan band," her mum mumbled to herself.

Hayley sighed. "Green Day Mum, Day. And why don't you meet his mum tomorrow and talk it over then?" Hayley said, defeated.

"Fine," her mum said and walked off to make dinner.

***

"I think I can go. My mum just needs to talk to your mum," Hayley said on the phone to Joey.

"Oh good. I asked Dad and Mum, and they said yes," he said.

"Cool. Well Mum is nagging me to do the homework due in 6 months ago. Ms. Foo sent a letter home saying I didn't do it. So I got to go. Bye!" Hayley said and hung up.

That day during school, Hayley and Joey were talking during lunch.

"So...do you like anyone yet? I mean, I know this sounds Mean Girls cliché but...yeah?" Hayley asked.

"Yeah...I can trust you, but please don't tell anyone. I kind of like Megan," he smiled.

"That's great. She'll probably go out with you if you asked," Hayley said to him.

She felt a bit bad though. Nope, not from jealously. Hayley had hit puberty, but her mind was still that of a 7 year old's. She hadn't even thought about a boy like that yet. Megan was just...you know, one of those "user" type chicks. Yeah.

"Well, we'll see. So what class do we have next?" he asked.

At the end of the day, Hayley and Joey walked together to the parent car park.

"Well. My mum or yours first?" Hayley asked him.

"Well, my mum's car is next to that white one," he said, pointing to Hayley's mum's car.

"Oh goodie, next to my mum's," Hayley smiled, and they walked to the two cars.

They both motioned for the two women to roll down their windows.

"Mum, this is Joey's mum, Adrienne," Hayley said to her mum.

They both introduced themselves and started talking. Hayley being that A.D.D. kid she is didn't listen as she was too interested on the ants on the ground. She was wondering how so many ants could be in one little space. ORGY

"So is your husband really in a band?" her mum asked as Hayley was jerked out of watching ant porn.

"Yeah. But don't worry, it's not some metal death band talking about raping women and committing suicide," Adrienne smiled.

"So it's settled. Hayley will go home with you on Friday, and I'll pick her up 1:00 Saturday?" her mum asked.

"Yep! Well, we have to pick up some...family from the airport now, so we really have to go," Adrienne smiled at Hayley and her mum.

"Yes, well I have a nail appointment. Nice to meet you and see you on Saturday," Hayley's mum said and rolled up the window.

"She seems nice. She looked a bit rough, though," Hayley's mum wrinkled her nose.

Hayley sighed. Her mum thought any girl with even one little tattoo was scum and derserve to be put in jail. Same with a guy with heaps of tattoos. Oh, won't she hate meeting Billie...

Just the though of that made Hayley nearly scream. It only dawned on her. She'd be meeting Billie Joe Armstrong. And she just met Adrienne. Adrienne Armstrong/Nesser. Hayley squealed to herself. She also couldn't wait to plan revenge on those rat boys.

***

"Oh, Mom had stuff to plan with Adeline. She couldn't pick us up, but it's only a 20 minute walk," Joey said to Hayley.

"It's okay. The last time I walked home from school was when I was 5," Hayley said.

They walked home and finally landed on a pretty, big two-story house.

"Nice," Hayley said as they both walked in through the gate.

Joey unlocked the door, and they both walked in. They were met with by a huge lounge room, and Joey walked into the room. Hayley followed and nearly screamed. In there was Billie Joe on guitar jamming with Mike on his bass. And Tre was just sitting there with chips, watching a TV show.

"Guys. This is my new friend, Hayley," Joey said, and Hayley turned red.

Billie went up and hugged her.

"Huh?" she blurted out, confused.

"From what I've heard from Joey, you seem like a good friend. The kinds I wish I had besides these two idiots when I was younger," he said, pointing to Tre and Mike.

Mike went up and shook her hand. Tre just stayed rooted to his spot, kept his eyes on the TV, and mumbled, "Hello." Billie whacked him and told him to be polite. When he looked up, he fake screamed and over dramatically put his hands to his mouth and whispered:

"The girl uniform is worse than the boys. Purple...PURPLE!" he shouted.

She laughed and randomly said, "Well, I fulfilled my goal for this year." And grinned.

"Meeting the incredible Tre Cool? Oh and meeting his little minions Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong?" Tre asked.

"Nope. Finding someone over the age of 20 that says the uniform sucks rather than it looks smart," she poked her tongue out at him.

"Well, Tre doesn't count as someone over 20...he has the mind of a little kid," Mike mumbled.

"Hm. That is true. Oh well, I guess meeting Green Day will do," Hayley said and followed Joey up the stairs.

"I promised we'd play a few board games with Jakob, is that okay?" Joey asked.

"Yeah. I love little kids. They're awesome," Hayley grinned and walked into Jakob's room.

"Are you Hayley?" he asked her straightaway.

"Yep. And you're Jakob," Hayley said and sat next to him.

"Wanna play some board games?" Joey asked his little brother.

"After my homework," Jakob said.

"Give me your homework," Hayley said, and Jakob gave her a weird look and passed it to her.

She grabbed the pen and started doing it for him. She got it done in about one minute.

"I got a few of the harder answers wrong on purpose. So it doesn't look suspicious. Trust me, I know how much homework sucks. I never do mine," Hayley said, passing it back to him.

"Thanks. You're nice," Jakob beamed up at Hayley.

"So we have...Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly Junior, or Mouse Trap," Joey said, dusting off the dusty board games.
