Too Pretty For Scars, chapter 2

"Wow. I mean, I never expected to meet you in person. I mean, I'm Jerica."

"Wow. I mean, I never met such a nervous person, I mean, let me help you up." he said smiling and putting his hand out to me. I grabbed it and helped myself up. I noticed my wound was exposed and that he had seen it. I quickly put my hand to my side to cover it up.

"Want to go get some coffee? Then maybe I can introduce you to the guys..."

"The guys? As in, Mike and Billie Joe? I mean, coffee would be nice. Thanks." I said blushing.

"You don't have to replace everything you say..." Tre said grinning.

"Well, I didn't want you to get the wrong impression... that I'm like a teenie or something. I actually went to some of your bar gigs before you were famous..."

"Don't worry 'bout sounding like a teenie. I can tell you're not one. Let's grab some coffee and you can tell me your story." he said taking my hand and pulling me into the nearest Starbuck's.

"Order what you'd like. I've got money." he said laughing.

"Orange Mocha Frappuccino." I said to the lady taking our order.

Tre's eyes got wide, "Same." he said, then to me, "That's my favorite drink here."

"Mine too." I said smiling. They gave us our order and we went to sit down at a corner table out of most people's view. I sat down first and he sat down across from me. He seemed nervous.

"So, what's your story? Why were you about to sleep in an alley?" Tre asked carefully.

"Parents. Didn't like my style. So, I left. They didn't trust me. I took off earlier tonight actually. I guess I was ready to be on my own..."

"You don't look ready to be alone on the streets. You're staying with us for now. I won't let you say no."

"No."

"Nice try, Jerica." Tre said smiling. We got up with our drinks and walked out the door. He slipped his arm around my shoulders and led me through a ton of roads I didn't even know were there. Finally, we approached a building and he unlocked the door for us. We had gone up three flights of stairs when he stopped outside a door.

"The guys, are crazy. I mean, I'm awfully strange, but they don't know how to act around a lady. Just, cut them some slack." Tre said before opening the door. I stepped in to find a fairly clean apartment and the rest of a band I knew as Green Day.

"Who's this pretty girl, Tre?" Billie Joe asked curiously.

"Found her in an alley. Ran away from home. Name's Jerica. She's staying with us for at least a little while, if not longer." Tre said excitedly.

"Welcome, Jerica." Mike said holding his hand out to me. I shook it and then realized my wound was exposed again. I had to be more careful about that around them. He pulled away slightly when he saw it but, as I expected, he remained polite.

"Yeah. Welcome." Billie Joe said casually.

"I'll sleep on the couch. You can stay in my room." Tre offered kindly.

"No. I'll sleep on the couch. Please. Otherwise, I'm leaving." I practically demanded.

"Fiesty." Billie Joe said.

"We'll talk about it, Jerica." Tre said sternly.

"Are you trying to play a father figure to me? Cause then I'm definitely out of here." I said with a little sass.

"No, no. Just, trying to help and keep you safe. I guess I went overboard, then?" Tre asked.

"Duh." Mike said raising his eyebrows.

"I'm going to bed now, fuckers, and Jerica." Billie Joe said winking. He walked off to what I'm assuming was his bedroom and shut the door. Within minutes we heard muffled moaning.

"MAS-TUR-BATION!" Mike sang loudly. Billie Joe's hand appeared out the door. He flipped Mike off and then slammed the door.
