Tre had been gone for 2 months and Jayden was now 8 months old.
Amy sat in the kitchen. Jayden was asleep and the house was empty. There was no laughter, no vibe that was around when Tre was there. She looked over to the door, wishing and hoping that her husband would walk through it and take her in his arms but no such luck.
Amy walked over to the cupboard, opened a bottle of wine, and poured herself a glass. Sitting there in the kitchen, drinking, she had never felt more alone.

The next morning

Amy woke up her head felt like it had been run over by a truck. She could hear her son crying, so she pulled herself up of the bed and made her way to his room.

"Oh, Jayden, please stop. Mummy had a headache," said Amy to the little boy, who was standing up in his cot.

"Mummy," said Jayden looking up at his mother's face.

Amy took him from his cot washed and changed him, took him downstairs to get him some breakfast before they left.

Did I really drink all of that, Amy thought to herself, looking at the two bottles of wine sitting on the bench.

Amy fed Jayden and put him into the car and dropped him off at child care. He was a little to old to keep on coming to work with her. He would just get bored and annoy her, and she couldn't get her work done.

Amy walked into her office and sat down at her desk, putting her head on the table.

"Late night Amy?" asked Adie, seeing the tired eyes on Amy's face.

"Ah, yeah, late night," said Amy, putting her head back on the table.

"Go home, Amy, get some sleep," said Adie smiling.

"No. I miss Tre when I'm there and all alone," said Amy a tear falling down her cheek.

"Oh sweetie, I know what you mean. I hate being the house all alone and Billie not being there with me," said Adie, resting her hand on Amy's arm for a brief second as if to offer her feelings.

"I'll be ok I just have to get used to it," said Amy, looking up at Adrienne's kind face.

"That is the problem. You never do. You will always miss them," said Adie "Look, I have to go, but if you're feeling lonely, just stop by. My door is always open to you, Amy, and if you want go home and get some sleep..." said Adrienne as she left the room and closed the door behind her.

In the hallway
"Alison can you make sure that you take over what ever Amy is doing? She needs some rest. Only call her in if you need her," said Alison who, was the girl that took over Amy's job. Amy was only there to help Alison out with anything she didn't know.

"Will do," said Alison.

It was about 5.30 by the time Amy got home after picking up Jayden from childcare. She opened the door and put Jayden down the toddler and walked around, looking at all the things in the house while his mother sat down on the couch. Amy's phone started to ring and she picked it up.

"Hello," Amy said.
"Hello sexy," said Tre.
"Ah, baby, I miss you," said Amy with a grim look on her face.
"I miss you too. Are you ok?" said Tre.
"I'm fine. Hold on, Jayden don't touch that!" said Amy.
"Speaking of Jayden, is he ok?" asked Tre, hoping Amy could hear how much he missed them in his voice.
"He is fine. We're all fine. We just miss you. The house seems so quiet," said Amy.
"Ok. Oh damn it, babe, I got to go. I'll call you later," said Tre.
"Ok. Talk to you then, bye. I love you," said Amy.
"I love you too," said Tre.

Amy got up off the couch and showered Jayden, fed him and put him to bed.
Amy walked into her empty bedroom and for a brief second before she opened the door she thought she heard Tre. She knew he wasn't there. Some nights she could not bare to sleep in their bed because it made her miss him even more.

Tre was coming home that day. Amy was so excited. Another month had passed and Jayden was now 9 months old and he was trying to talk but he couldn't quite get a lot of words out.

"Tre, oh God, it's you," said Amy, rushing into her husband's arms.

"The one and only. I take it you missed me," Tre said picking her up as Amy tied her legs around his waist and they kissed.

"Very much," said Amy, not wanting to let of him ever again.

"Were is Jayden?" asked Tre putting Amy back down on the floor.

"In bed. I tried to keep him up, but he was so sleepy," said Amy.

"How 'bout a drink?" said Tre, raising his eyebrows.

"Sure and then can we..." said Amy

"Whoa, hold on. Just let me settle in," said Tre, amused at Amy's smile that had appeared on her face.

Tre went into the kitchen and looked in the cupboard.

"Hmmm..." he said running his hands through his hair.

"What is it?" asked Amy walking into the kitchen.

"Where's all the alcohol?" said Tre.

"Oh I had some friends over the other night and we must have drank it all," laughed Amy, but her laugh was so nervous Tre cocked his eye and looked at her face, knowing that she was lying to him. Not being in the mood to fight, he just nodded his head.

"Ok. You'll just have to get some more. Must have been a lot of people--there was a heap of stuff in there," said Tre, looking into Amy's eyes, trying to read the expression on her face.

"Ah yeah it was," said Amy.
"Well I now I'm going to have to take you to the bedroom and make up for all the sex we haven't had," Tre said, picking Amy up and carrying her to the bed room.
