"M-my leg?" Tre sounded scared.
"Yeah" Billie's eyes were locked on the bandage wrapped around Tre's ankle.
"Oh, um, I fell down the stairs last night. Now come on, are we gonna stand around talking all day, or are we going to practice?" Tre walked over to his drums. He was limping. They practiced for about an hour, then got bored and went upstairs. "I'm outta here, okay guys?" said Billie, moving to the door.
"Yeah fine, see ya."
After Billie had left, Mike pulled Tre aside. "Tre, he's on to you." he said
"What?" Tre looked confused.
"Tre you dumbass! He knows you're a werewolf!"
"He doesn't know about you, you've been a vampire longer than I've been a werewolf!"
"Yes, but he hasn't shot me yet!"
"Good point." Tre suddenly looked scared. "Mike, what am I going to do?"
"I don't know. I really don't know." Mike slumped on the couch. Tre looked desperate.
"You don't seriously think Billie would... You know... Do you?" he asked
Mike sighed. "Unfortunately, I think he would."
"But... He's my friend!"
"That means nothing to Hunters. Family, friends, if you're one of us, they don't care who you are. Tre, you're going to have to be so careful! I don't think you should go out at the full moon anymore, he'll be hunting you."
"I try to stop myself. I know how dangerous it is, but the call of the pack, you have no idea how strong it is, how hard it is to refuse!"
"Do you think it's easy for me either?! You have no idea how hard it is to stop myself. I crave blood, all the time! Just looking at you right now, you have no idea how hard it is not to bite you. It's no easier being a vampire, in fact, it's harder! You're just a werewolf at full moon, unless you choose to be at other times. I'm a vampire 24/7!"
"Hey! There's no need to shout at me! I never said vampirism was easy to cope with. Besides, this is totally beside the point. The point is, Billie knows about me, if you're right, he doesn't know about you. You don't have to worry that your best friend is going to kill you."
"Listen Tre, just be careful. I think Billie's just suspicious right now. If you don't do anything to prove him right, he might get off the scent."
"I don't plan to show myself to a Hunter! I'm not that dumb!"
"I know." Mike checked his watch "I'd better go anyway, I've got Estelle and I promised her I'd take her swimming."
"Okay, see ya Mike." Mike walked out, leaving Tre alone with his thoughts.
