Heal My Broken Heart, chapter 2

I woke up with a pounding headache. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. Why was I on the floor? "Oh," I said, remembering that night. I got up and stumbled into the bedroom. I took a shower, put on some clothes, combed my hair and put on some eyeliner.

I picked up all the empty beer cans that Mark left lying around the house and trhew them out. "He'll be at work until six thirty," I sighed, "better make the most of it." I put on my shoes and went down to the park.

There wasen't many people there today, just some people walking their dogs. I sat down in the grass by a tree and looked at the pond. I started thinking about last night. Did I really meat Billie Joe Armsrtong?

"Hey stranger," a voice inturrupted my thoughts.

Yeah, I met him, I thought as Billie sat down beside me. "Hey Billie. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I like to come to the park and chill. And there's no teenies here so I get some peace and quiet," he said.

I smiled. That must be awful, being chased by teenies and crazed fans everytime they saw you. "What happened to your face?" Billie asked.

"What are you talking about?" I said, turning away. "Your face is like bright red, like you got slapped."

"No it's not," I aruged.

"Yes it is," Billie insisted, putting his hand on my cheek where it was red.

"Please tell me who's doing this to you," Billie begged.

I could tell that he was concerned about me. I looked him straight in the eyes, I had to tell him. "Its my boyfriend, Mark," I said, staring down at my hands.

Billie wrapped his arms around me. "I'm so sorry," Billie whispered in my ear. We sat there embraced in each others arms for a couple of minutes until Billie's cell rang. I pulled away, slighty embaressed. Billie pulled out his phone.

"Hello?" he said, "Oh, hi, Adie. Um, okay, when? Now? This early? Er, okay. See you in a couple minutes. Love you to, bye." He put his phone back and climbed to his feet. "I'm sorry Darleen," he said, "but I have to go."

"Bye Billie," I said.

"Can we meet here again tomorrow at three?" Billie asked. I nodded. "Good. See you tomorrow," he said, and turned around and walked out of my sight.

*Billie's POV*

"Watch where you're going you asshole!" I screamed angrily out of thewindow as some jackass ran a red light and almost hit my SUV. I sat back in the drivers seat and thought about Darleen.

Why would she let some prick hurt her like that? Who would want to hurt her? She's so sweet. I thought about her the rest of the way home. I pulled into the driveway and grabbed the groceries that Adie wanted me to pick up and went inside the house.

She had said over the phone that she wanted me to come home, that she wanted to tell me something important.

"Adie! Adie! I got your stuff," I called. I went into the kitchen and put the bags on the counter.

Adie came into the kitchen, dragging Joey by the arm. "Ow! Your hurting me!" Joey said.

"Billie, guess what your son did today," Adie said, letting go of his arm.

"Um, normal kid stuff?" I guessed.

Joey pulled his hoodie over his head. "No. Your son blew up a mailbox," Adie said.

"What the? Hahaha, how?"

Adie frowned. "It's not funny. He put a whole bunch of fireworks inside it." I started laughing, that was classic. Adie looked shocked.

"How the hell can you laugh at that? This is serious, Billie! He could have hurt somebody! He could have gotten hurt! Hell, he could have gone to juvie!" Adie snapped.

"I-I'm sorry, it's just so funny!" I said, wipping a tear from my eye.

Adie's mouth dropped open and her face got all red. Uh-oh, I thought, here comes another fight.
