A Fork Stuck In The Road., chapter 11

The week rolled around fairly quickly, and I hadn't told anyone about what happened at Jays, because the truth was, I was terrified that it was going to happen again. I didn't hang out with Jays friends at lunch times, but instead went to the library and worked on my history assignment. Finally the weekend came, and I asked Adie if I could go to Marrisa's party on Saturday night.

"Saturday night?" repeated Adie
"Yeah," I said
"I can't pick you up, I have to work late that night, and Billie can't either, because he has an Adeline interview."
"I'll pick you up," said Tre, who had come over to eat breakfast and then go into Billie's basement.
"You would?" I asked
"Sure, what time?"
"Around twelve," I said
"Okay."

So I spent the day just milling around the house again, trying my hardest not to think about what happened at jays. With any luck, there would be lots of alcohol at the party, to help me get my mind off things.

By eight o'clock, I was dressed and ready to go. Billie was driving me there, on the way to his interview.

We reached the party at eight thirty, and it was all ready in full swing. I said goodbye to Billie, and entered the house. There were people everywhere, and the music was pumping really loudly. I tried to look for Marrisa, but because there were so many people there I didn't have a chance.

"Yo, you wanna shot?" asked a guy holding a tray of full shot glasses. What the fuck, I thought to my self, and grabbed a glass. Several shots later, nah, screw that, a lot of shots later, I somehow managed to walk out to the front of the house to wait for Tre, as it was nearing twelve. Tre's car pulled up, and Tre walked out, and that was the last thing I remember before I passed out.

I woke up with a pounding headache. I groaned and looked at the clock that sat on my bedside table. 1:35 am. There was a note next to the clock. I picked it up.

Hang over? According to Tre you completely past out last night, he had to carry you to your bed. We're at Tre's house now for lunch, come over if you feel like it.
See you soon,
Adie xoxo

I sighed and pulled my self out of bed. I got some painkillers from the bathroom cabinet and took a shower. Then I decided to walk over to Tre's, as it was only a couple of blocks away.

When I got to the large house I opened the front door and went inside. There was no one in there, so I thought that they must have all been out the back.
I really needed to go to the toilet, so I went up to Tre's unsuit.

"Hi," a voice said. I jumped round, and saw Tre coming out of the other toilet.
"Hey. Thanks so much for picking me up last night," I said.
Tre smirked. "No problem. But I need to talk to you."
I looked puzzled. "About ?"
Tre grabbed my arm gently and led me over to his bed, and he sat down, and patted the spot next to him, for me to sit down.
"Last night, when I picked you up, you were drunk, but you were also high. Very high. And you said to me that this guy named Jay had raped you a couple of days ago," he said.

Oh shit, I thought to myself.
I looked down into my lap, and tried to stop the hot tears from leaking out of my eyes, but it was no use.

"Oh Em," Tre said, "I'm so sorry."
He pulled me into to him and put me on his lap, and stroked my hair while I sobbed into his chest.

We stayed like this for what seemed like forever, until Tre cupped his hands under my face, gently forcing me to look at him.

"Have you told anyone else?" he asked
I shook my head, and looked into his perfect blue eyes.
It all happened so fast, but the next thing I knew was that his soft lips were gently caressing mine.

"Oh, Emily your her-" Adrienne said, walking into the room, but stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me and Tre brake apart.
