A Fork Stuck In The Road., chapter 15

I woke up the next morning and ran clumsily to the toilet again and chucked.
Ewwww...I was getting really sick of this. I cleaned up and went downstairs, even though I wasn't hungry. I sat down at the table where everyone else was seated.

"You puked again, didn't you?" Billie Joe said through a mouth full of who-knows-what.
"Yes," I said wearily.
"Hmmmn," frowned Adrienne. "It must be a bug. You're not going to school today!"
"Oh damn," I said, rolling my eyes.

I spent most of the morning just watching telly, because no one was home. But at lunch time, the house was occupied with the rest of the band. They were too lazy to drive to a café or order food, so they had decided to come here for lunch. Billie offered to give me a driving lesson.

"Now?" I asked uncertainly.
"Yeah, why not?"
"Aren't you supposed to be practicing?"
"Nah, we were just planning on hanging out for the afternoon anyways."
"Okay, let's go."

We walked out to my new car (god, I love the sound of that) and I hopped in the drivers side. For fucks sake, I didn't even know how to put the keys in! So I just sat there.

"So...are ya gonna get the engine started?" asked Billie.
"I don't know how!"
"Oh boy. . . ."

So an hour later of driving around town, me and Billie walked through the front door of the Armstrong house.

"How was it?" Adie asked me and Billie as we sat at the table.
I knew that Billie was grinning next to me. I just buried my head in my arms that were resting on the table.
"I don't think she'll be driving us anywhere soon," said Billie, smirking.
Adrienne grinned. "Don't worry, it takes time. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in the end."
"Well Adie, are you offering to take her for the next ride? Coz I'm sure as hell not," Billie said.
"I'm sure that it wasn't that bad."
Billie laughed. "I'm gonna start having to wear a brace, my neck hurts so much from all the whiplash."
"Shut up," I said, softly hitting his arm.
He laughed and walked off to find that the rest of the band had already gone home.

I went back up to my room, and checked my phone for any messages. I had one from Gabrielle, a girl in my form who I had become pretty close friends with.

hey, u free on Saturday? I feel the need for some shopping!
Text meh back, xoxo gabs

I didn't know whether I was free or not. Things had been so hectic in these past months, with Adeline commitments, Tre, and my social life. I went downstairs to check the calendar. We generally wrote all of our dates in hear just to keep track of things.

Today was the. . . . seventeenth. Seventeenth. The seventeenth. Ohhhhhh FUCK. I thought.

I ran down to the basement to find Billie tuning his guitar. I looked up when he heard me.
"Umm Billie? Do you think you could give me a lift to Tre's?"
"Now? Why?"
"Umm. . . I can't really tell you, but please? This is kind of urgent!"
"Not until you tell me!" He said.
"Arrgh. . . fuck it, I'll walk!"
I turned back around and started to walk to Tre's house.
Fifteen minutes later, I was standing in front of Tre's front door, deciding how I should say it.

I hesitantly rang the door bell. Seconds later Tre opened the door.
"Hey," he said, leaning in to kiss me. I numbly kissed him back, which I think he sensed. As he pulled away and scanned my face, his crystal eyes filled with concern.
"Is something wrong?" He asked.
I nodded, looking down at the ground.
Tre gently lifted my head up, so that I was looking him directly in the eye.
"What is it?"
I was silent for a minute before saying,
"I think I'm pregnant."
He just looked at me for what seemed like hours, still cupping my face in him calloused hands.
"Are you sure?" He asked softly, his eyes never leaving mine.
I shook my head.
"Let's go find out then," He said, with no trace of emotion. He quickly ducked inside to grab his wallet and keys, and then we walked to his car. The ride was a silent one. We finally reached the chemist. He parked the car. Before I could open the door, Tre reached over and held my hands in his.

"You know that I'll stand by you no matter what happens, right?"
I looked up at him, searching his face for any sign of happiness, or any feeling. The way he looked at me; such love and loyalty.

"Yeah, I know. Thanks,"
He nodded, and then we left the car and entered the chemist.
We got three pregnancy tests (just to get a correct answer) off the shelf and bought them.

We drove back to Tre's house. We walked up to his bedroom and sat on the bed, me in his lap.

"Urinate on the stick inside the box, and wait for fifteen minutes. If the stick turns blue, you're not pregnant. If it turns pink, then you're pregnant," I said, reading the instructions of the back of the box.

I opened one of the boxes, and pulled out a stick. I did the same to the other two. I walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind me. I leaned back on the door, slowly inhaling and exhaling. In the next fifteen minutes, my life would change. I thought of the journey I had come on so far, since that day I had come home from school, to find something, or someone rather, that would change my life forever. It was all so unexpected. I smiled to myself, singing the lyrics softly under my breath.
"It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right, I hope you had the time of your life..."

I followed the instruction and pissed on a stick. Well, actually three of them. After I was done, I walked out and sat next to Tre, placing the tests on the bathroom counter on the way out. We were silent. Hours passed, it felt.

"Do you want a baby?" Tre said, looking at me.
"I'm not sure," I said. It was true, I honestly hadn't thought about that aspect of being pregnant. If I was pregnant.
Tre lay down on the other side of the bed, and pulled me gently next to him. He placed a loving hand on my hip, while the other made incoherent patterns on my neck.

Fifteen minutes was up.
"You ready?" I asked Tre. He nodded and we both got up and went into the bathroom. I picked up the sticks. And looked at them, equally just as shocked as Tre, who was looking over my shoulder.

"We should go tell Adie and Billie," Tre choked.
I dazedly nodded. In my mind from the time we left the Wright house to the time we reached our house was a blur.
"Umm, Adie? We need to talk to you and Billie," I said to her.
"Sure, what's up?"
"We should sit down," Tre said, as Billie entered the room, having heard he was needed.
We walked into the living room, which had two sofas facing each other, with a coffee table in between. Billie and Adie sat one couch, and I sat between Tre's legs on the other couch.

"What did you want to tell us?" Asked Billie, looking confused.
"I'm pregnant," I said.
