A Fork Stuck In The Road., chapter 6
We all walked into the house. We followed the music through the foyer to the large living room. Billie went to turn down the music a bit. I looked at all the people in the living room. There was about twenty people there, most of them were chatting in small groups, and didn't realise we had arrived yet. Then one familiar looking man excused himself from the conversation he was having, and walked over to where Adie and I were standing.
"Jason?" I asked. It had hit me. The Jason that I met on the plane was Jason White. Duh! How could I be so stupid? I'd seen Bullet in a Bible tons of times.
"Emily?" he asked me and grinned.
"I had no idea you were, well, you know," he said. I grinned.
"I had no idea who you were," I said.
"Do you guys know each other?" asked Adie.
"Yeah, kinda," we both said.
I saw a table with a bowl of punch. I excused myself to get a drink.
I walked over to the table and just as I was about to put the punch into the cup, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to face the one and only Tre Cool.
"You're Emily, right?" he asked.
"I am. And you're Tre, yeah?" I asked him.
"The one and only!" he grinned. Wow, he was even hotter up close. He had the sexiest grin I'd ever seen, and just looking into his vivid, intense blue eyes made me get a fluttering feeling in my stomach.
"You look a lot like Adie, has anyone told you that?"
"Nope, you're the first one. That's a good thing, right?" I laughed.
He laughed to, "Yeah," he paused, "I guess."
We both laughed.
"So which part of Australia are you from?"
"Melbourne. I went to your American Idiot concert. You guys rocked."
"We always rock; we're rock stars."
I rolled my eyes and smiled.
The rest of the night was spent meeting and talking to a lot of people. I really enjoyed the company of everyone; I got on really well with all of them, including the kids. The party started slowing down after Tre, Brittney (Mike's fiancée) and Mike passed out on the lounge room sofas. Everyone who was conscious decided that it would be easier to all camp over at our house. I realised that I hadn't seen my room yet. Adie must have realised it too, because when the sleeping arrangements had been made (Tre, Brittney and Mike were left on the sofa, the kids were all camped out in the boy's bedrooms, and Jason and his girlfriend were in one of the four guest bedrooms) she told me to follow her upstairs.
She stoped outside of a shut doorway.
"This is your room, if you don't like it, we can swap it with one of the guest rooms."
We went in. It was a big room, with a four poster bed in the middle, and a mounted TV facing the bed. There was also a large walk-in wardrobe and an unsuit.
"Wow, thanks Adie, its great!" I exclaimed tiredly.
"I'm glad you like it." She said relieved.
"Well, I'll let you get to sleep now. Night sweetie," she said, kissing my cheek.
I had one of the deepest sleeps I'd ever had. The bed was amazingly comfy.
And when I woke up at midday, I had a shower in my new bathroom, and started to put all of my clothes in the wardrobe. I also found some Adeline clothes in there, that I thought Adie must've put in. I got dressed in my black ruffed mini skirt and my new Adeline tank.
I somehow managed to find the kitchen in the overly large house. When I did, I saw that I was not the only one up. Billie, Tre and Jason were all seated round the table.
"Hey," greeted Billie.
I smiled at all of them. Tre looked like shit. Haha, I thought to myself.
"Help yourself to breakfast, there's bread in the fridge, and cereal and jam in the pantry."
"Thanks," I said, opening the fridge door, and pulling out bread.
"So, do you play and instruments?" Billie asked as I was making my breakfast.
"Not so loud!" Tre groaned, slumping down on the table.
We all laughed.
"Random question," I stated.
"I know, it's just that we don't know much about you." Billie said.
"I used to play piano, but I had to give it up when I came here."
"How long did you do it for?"
"Umm, I think around ten years."
"Wow, that's along time."
"Too long, my parents made me play."
I started to rummage in the pantry for something to put on my toast.
"Where's your Vegemite?"
"What?" Tre asked, sitting up bolt right.
"Vegemite Tre, not vagina." I said.
We all laughed.
"Anyway, so where is it?" I asked again.
"We don't have any, only Australia sells it."
"Oh yeah, I forgot.
"How can you even consider eating that stuff?" asked Jason.
"Why not?"
"Jason?" I asked. It had hit me. The Jason that I met on the plane was Jason White. Duh! How could I be so stupid? I'd seen Bullet in a Bible tons of times.
