A Fork Stuck In The Road., chapter 8
The unfamiliar beep of my new alarm clock woke me up at seven o'clock on Monday.
I groaned.
My first day of school. I heaved myself out of bed and took a shower. I got myself ready, and walked down to breakfast.
"Hi," greeted Joey, who was seated at the table with Jakob.
"Hey guys," I sat down at the table.
"You want pancakes?" Adie yelled from the kitchen.
"Yeah, thanks,"
Adie set a plate of stacked pancakes in front of me and sat down.
"You nervous?" she asked.
"Yes, very," I said, shaking at the thought of going to school soon.
"Don't be, you'll be fine," said Joey.
"Yeah, you're really pretty," said Jakob in the cutest voice I'd ever heard.
I laughed softly, "Thanks guys."
I spent the rest of the morning playing play station with Joey and Jakob.
"Ha, I whipped your as-but." I said to Joey.
Jakob laughed but Joey just said, "Rematch," and then laughed as well.
Billie Joe entered the den.
"You ready to go?" he asked me, "I'm taking you today."
I nodded then said goodbye to Joey and Jakob.
We walked out to the car.
"Adie showed me your designs," Billie said, as we were driving,"I've never seen any like them, there awesome."
"Thanks," I smiled.
How many people get a compliment like that from their idol?
"You're welcome. We talked about it last night, and if you're interested you could design Adeline's tee shirt line for women."
"Really?" I asked excitedly
"Yeah, you'd get paid each season, and for each season you'd design six tee shirts."
"I'd love to!"
Billie Joe smiled, "Great."
I couldn't help but notice how hot he looked right now. His hair had that just-woke-up look, and his smile was beautiful. Ergh, I thought, that's gross. He my fucking step dad now.
"What?" Billie asked me, grinning, "Do I have something on my face?"
Oh shit, he caught me looking at him!
"No," I replied.
He cocked his eyebrow up.
Finally we reached St. Josephs. I was about to climb out of the door, when Billie grabbed my wrist and pulled me back in.
"What, I don't get a thank you?" he asked me smiling.
I laughed and kissed him on the cheek.
"Have fun Em."
"Yeah right," I said, rolling my eyes.
Billie laughed.
I climbed out of the car and looked at the school I would be spending the next two years at.
