"What flavor?" Tre asked.
"Um, chocolate chip cookie dough, I think, because that's the only flavor I eat."
"Yay, cookie dough."

So I got up and went to get the ice cream when the doorbell rang. Several times.
"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!" I hollered as I went to answer it.
"What do you want?" I hissed.
"Payback's a bitch, girl," the guy who walked up sneered, and pulled out a gun.
"Brown, if you fire that thing... " I didn't get to finish, because he fired, and I let out a blood-curdling scream. Billie Joe, Adrienne, Mike, Tre, Joey and Jakob came running.
"Holy, crap, you retard!" Billie Joe yelled, slamming into Spencer. "What did you do that to her for!?"
"Payback!" he laughed. Now Joey was on him.
"HOW DARE YOU!" he was hollering, and was pounding Spencer. But Spencer was stronger, and he threw Joey off. Next thing anybody knew, I was standing and holding the gun to Spencer's head.
"Get out of here, you bastard," I ordered. He started running and I threw the gun at his head. It hit him and knocked him out cold.
"Kay are you alright!?" Billie Joe asked, catching me as I collapsed. "Kay? KAY!" The last thing I remember was Billie Joe calling my name before I blacked out.

"-a while." I heard people talking.
'Great dumbass, you landed yourself in the hospital,' I thought.
"Kay?" I heard Billie Joe mutter.
I sat up and looked around. "Great. I am in the hospital," I sighed.
He laughed. "Still have a bit of humor."
"Now I can't get my ice cream."
"I wouldn't say that," Billie Joe said as Joey walked into the room carrying a tub of my favorite treat.
"Gimme that," I said, and reached out to grab it. "Anyone got a spoon?" I asked, looking around. Jake and Adrienne were there too, but asleep.
"Not yet," a guy, I'm presuming my doctor, walked into the room. "I'm Dr. Shiver, Kay. Do you know which hospital you're at?"
"Jackson?" I asked, not really caring.
"I wonder how you knew," Dr. Shiver smiled.
"The smell," I said, wrinkling up my nose. "You people need some air freshener."
I got laughs at that. "Anybody gonna wake those two up-OWWW... " I said as I tried to point to the sleeping Jake and Adie with my left arm, but yeow, it hurt.
"I don't know if you know, or realize, but you were shot in the left shoulder," Dr. Shiver said.
"Yeah, I can figure that out, Einstein," I replied sarcastically. "When do I get outta here?"
"I can't give an exact date, but it'll be awhile. I was telling that to Billie Joe right before you woke up."
"Oh yeah, I remember you saying that. I just want out. I hate hospitals."
"I know. I remember you visiting your grandfather here." Dr. Shiver laughed.
"Yeah, I don't really want to get into that."

So Dr. Shiver left, Adie had gone out to get lunch, and it was just me, Joey, Jake, and Billie Joe.
"Hey, remember back at Steaki's? Before you started crying?" Jake asked.
"Yea...?" I replied, wondering where this was going.
"Well, you said you... Found... Your family. How...?" He didn't need to finish. I knew what he was going to ask.
"The Hangman," I started. "I woke up one morning at my lake house, and found my cousin, who I shared a room with, gone, her bed made and everything. Then I went out of our bedroom. And found her and my grandparents hanging by the top pole of the patio. I ran out, screaming. I guess my friend Kayla heard, because she'd been walking over, and heard me, so she came running, and asked me what was wrong. I couldn't talk; I wasn't even crying I was in so much shock. So I just pointed to the patio. She threw up when she saw them, and took me back to her house after I grabbed some clothes and my cell. At her house, I tried calling my dad's cell, my mom's cell, and the house number, while Kayla's family called the police."
"What about your parents?" Joey asked, almost at a whisper. Adrienne had walked in, and was silent and listening intently.
"Neither of my parents were picking up their cells or the house phone. Now I was pretty scared. Kayla's family took me home, and I unlocked the door to my house, shaking." I was starting to shake telling the story, too. "I walked in, and found my parents hanging from the ceiling. So was my dog. My other pets were hanging in their cages... " My voice trailed off. I couldn't talk; I was crying too hard to be understood.
"Kay... " Adie said, walking over to me and giving a hug.
"I-I haven't... Told anyone... How... Before," I managed to choke. "It... It hurt... And it still hurts... So much."
"Shh, it's alright, just calm down," Adrienne whispered to me. "Relax. Think about something else. Anything but your family."

So, about 3 weeks later, I was finally released. I had to wear this bandage-thingie for a while so my shoulder would heal, though.
"Argh!" I yelled, itching at my shoulder. "You can't itch ANYTHING with this damn thing on!"
Billie Joe was laughing, and Tre was poking my shoulder.
"Damn it, Tre, stop poking it!" I yelled trying to kick him away. "That's why it's hurting so much!"
"Na, na, not my fault, not my problem!" he taunted. I finally landed a blow right on his stomach, and he bent over.
"Ha, ha, now THAT'S your problem!" I laughed. He just stuck his tongue out at me.
"Shut up, you two, we're here," Billie Joe said, pulling into the parking lot at Tre and Mike's hotel. People were staring when we all got out. This one kid was staring at my shoulder, he was about my age, and looked familiar. Then I saw his face.
"Oh, shit," I muttered. "Why did I have to run into you of all people?"
"Guess it's good luck," he smirked.
"Ew, get away from me, Matt," I said, pushing him away with my good arm.
"Who's that?" Tre asked, literally jumping over to us.
"Matt the Prat," I laughed. "Actually, it's Mattaus, but he goes by Matt."
"I'm not the prat," Matt scowled. "Darby is."
"How about you both are?" another boy walking up said. "Hi, Kay."
"Hi, Derek."
"What's up with your shoulder?" Matt was poking at it now. I head-butted him.
"I got shot."
"WHAT!?" they both hollered.
"Yeow, don't blow my eardrums out," I winced.
"Sorry," Matt muttered.
"Spencer's the one who shot me." They met him once, when we were stuck in a group on a school project. They don't like him either.
"He doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of the world, anyway," Derek glared. When it came down to it, these two always stuck up for me, no matter how much we argued. Then the rest of the group walked over, and everyone was introduced to one another.
"You're kidding me," Matt was saying once he was introduced to Billie Joe. "Do you know Nick would kill me if he knew I met you people?"
"Yeah, I know," I laughed. Billie didn't get it. "Nick's the one who showed me off when you guys picked me up, remember?"
"Oh, him!" Billie Joe exclaimed. I rolled my eyes.
