A Vacation Never To Be Forgotten!, chapter 1
Life stinks when your me. Nothing ever goes right and I am not exaggerating. I'm Rachel by the way and to sum myself up in as little detail as possible; I am short, overweight, and acne infested. I receive no boy attention whatsoever, and do you know what that can do to a teenage girl these days? OK maybe I am over reacting a bit, I'm really 5ft 4" I am not the weight I want to be and I have a few spots but still! My friend Chloe on the other hand, tall, slim and has legs from here to kingdom come! No boy could resist her! I am one of the lucky ones that has the privilege to be her friend. We share hardly anything in common apart from the fact that we are both outcasts know it must be funny to think of Chloe as an outcast but trust me she is. She has the complete opposite personality to what you think she would. Instead of being nasty, selfish and self-centered, she is completely selfless and kind and caring so yeah theirs the answer to the question everybody's been thinking. Why is she friends with a complete geek like me?
Chloe and I are both huge fans of Green Day and this is why we are here in California. OK I know this is stupid to think but going to places like Mike's café "Rudies Can't Fail" and their home town Berkeley will would get a glimpse of them during their every day lives! Call me pathetic, call me what you will! OK didn't mean to quote them but it just seemed necessary! Teehee...
So we came to California to see one of Green Day's massive gigs along with the hope that we could meet them. It took us months to get the money together, sacrificing our weekends staying in instead of going out and doing jobs where we could. Don't want to gross you out but cleaning out my nans room and bathroom was not a pretty site! This is a great example of sheer desperation and a great example of two of Green Day's biggest fans.
So we are here at last kicking back in our disgusting and cheap shit hole of what would be called a motel room (that's all we could afford. ) But I guess we gotta be grateful, our parents allowing us to do this at only 16 years of age! Took a lot of sucking up too. But anyway as I was explaining in our cruddy motel room we sit starring at the damaged clock tick as we count the hours until we can leave for the gig.
"Hey Chloe, looking forward to our adventure in Cali?" I suddenly blurted out.
She seemed a bit surprised at me for asking. After all we had been sitting in silence for soooo long! "Hell yeah! What do you think I am! Haha!" She tilted her head at me and looked at me funny obviously deep in thought!
"What's wrong with you!?" She was starting to scare me with her, which seemed like, never ending stare! She didn't bother answering, instead just laid back on the stupid double bed that we so inconveniently have to share ( compliments to the owner. Cough cough. ) fantasizing about, lets be honest, something I wouldn't want to know about.
I got rather pissed off with her not bothering to communicate with me so I hopped off the bed and took a walk. Non surprisingly Chloe didn't follow me, she is one of those people who might as well have a wheel chair. No lie. I stepped outside onto the street the sun was blazing, I guess I kinda underestimated California weather, I stood out from everyone in my jeans and hoodie whilst everyone else was strutting around in swim wear and shorts and all that jazz. So I decided to just walk and keep walking until I felt ready to go home. Meh I had time to kill. I thought about going to couple of bars I look old enough.
I went into the first one I came too. It was called the blue phoenix. Weird name I know...
