Billie's Hidden Note, chapter 1
"Mommy, we're gonna be late for the first day of school!" Jakob was worried about missing the first day of 4th grade. Everyone filed into my car, a red BMW (to match Billie's black one). I dropped them off and said, "Remember, Daddy will be home when you get home." They waved good-bye and went to their homerooms. Adie's in for a fun-filled day. Until Billie gets home, she'll be cleaning dishes, the laundry, and the house. Adie was through with her chores and laid on the couch for a little rest when she heard the door open.
Billie walked in and picked Adie up. He carried her upstairs and into the bedroom, all without a word. He said, "Hey! I really missed you. Masturbating can get boring." While continuing to take my shirt off I said,"Billie I missed you and this so much. I love you so much." Later both of them were naked, out of breath, and supremely satisfied with each other. "Billie, can you go pick up the boys? I'm sure they'd like it." He agreed and left, but not without giving her a passionate kiss goodbye.
Adie, feeling more in love with Billie than she had in a long time, decided to peruse through some of their old things. She found a box in their closet labeled 'Billie and Adie, In Love Forever'. She opened it and found a piece of lined paper that said Billie on the front. She didin't recognize the handwriting and unfolded it so she could read it. It read:
Dearest Billie,
I can no longer live like this. You are in love with Adrienne and can't love me anymore. Even I can see that our relationship is over. Have fun being in love with her. She's a lucky girl. Please do not try and contact me again. It will cause trouble in your marriage and I can't let you do this to yourself. You are completely devoted to her now and I can see that. I will love you eternally and will eventually accept the fact that I once had you, but lost you to a slutty whore. As of now, I can't stand the fact that you chose her over me, but have come to the conclusion that she is what you want. If you wanted to leave her at the altar on your wedding day I'd understand, but I wouldn't feel sorry for her. She doesn't deserve you as I do, but you want her. I just want you to know that you made the wrong choice and that I will always love you. If she ever found out that I was your lover for even that short while I can't imagine how that will make you feel. I hope you'll feel conflicted as I do now. Should I feel happy for the one I love for he has fallen in love, but with the wrong woman? Do I completely regret ever meeting you? I don't know how to feel, but can only hope that you are happy in whatever you do, whether we can rekindle our love or you stay loyal to her. I don't understand why you're doing this, but will be forced to be live with it. Congatulations Billie on your new found love. I will never forget you and hope you'll do the same.
Goodbye(hopefully not forever),
Your ever loyal lover forever
Adie with tears in her eyes looked at the date it was written: July 1, 1994, the day before Billie and Adie's wedding. She heard Billie and the boys come inside. As the boys started their homework, Billie came to see where Adie was. He walked in on her tears falling onto to letter. She walked up to him and whispered barely audible, "Billie, What the fuck is this?"
He looked at the letter and opened his mouth to speak, but Adie had walked out before he could say anything. She turned around to say, "Billie, How could you? I thought you loved me? Don't follow me. They boys can stay here with you, but I'm going out for a while."
She grabbed her keys and left. Billie could only watch through the window as the woman he truly loved left. He didn't seem mad that she was gone. Billie was only wondering when she would return.
