Loser. Weirdo. Faggot., chapter 11

Mike bit down on his lip. "Guys, we don't have any car," Billie's head fell. It was a while away from where Adrienne was staying. The three of them could never do it on foot.

Tre's head fell too. He wanted Billie to be happy. And if being happy meant convincing Adrienne to stay longer, Tre could be fine with that. Mike's mouth gaped.

"Oh shit. Fuck! Dammit!" Mike strung different swear words together. "You guys have to hide. Go. Casey's here." Mike began pushing Billie and Tre towards the back door in the kitchen. Tre started pushing back.

"Whoa. Slow down, Mikey. Who's Casey?" The token 'Tre's a horny bastard' look spread across his smiling face. "Yeah," Billie's eyes narrowed. Six years of friendship and he could even tell him that he met a girl? Billie had told him every girl he ever met. Every one. Why couldn't Mike return the favor?

"Guys, ya know, she's just some girl... " He trailed off. The engine noise that had pulled into Mike's driveway stopped. The doorbell was now ringing. "She has a car," screeched Tre, "and that's good enough for me!" He bolted to the doorway, flinging open the door.

The same girl that Mike had met in the grocery store was standing in front of him. Staring straight at him. He had Billie pushed up against the wall, in an effort to try to stop him from answering the door. Mike's face blushed red. "Hey... .Casey... " His voice sounded weaker than it had a moment ago. Quieter. And more gentle.

"These your friends?" She asked, bending down to look at Tre Cool. Mike shook his head, speechless. Billie's eyes looked her up and down. She was shorter. Like Tre. The grey flannel cap was still on her head, face looking a little softer that usual. She wasn't bad looking. Billie coughed, pushing away from Mike's death grip on him.

Billie's head suddenly felt like bursting. He had an idea. "Hey, Casey." He said suavely, smiling as he did so, "Mike's told us all 'bout you. Can we use your car?" He tried to slip in the question easily, but it wasn't as inconspicuous as he thought.

Casey's eyes widened. "You want my car?" She looked a little sick. She wasn't going to lend her car to any complete stranger.

The four crammed into Casey's car, uncomfortably. Billie's stomach was doing back flips. He had met Adrienne a week ago. He knew hardly anything about her. Why was he doing this then? They were both just teenagers. Stupid teenagers. He rested his head on his palms. He rubbed his eyes. He glanced over at Mike. He was nervous.

The ride their seemed to take forever. He felt everything. Every bump in the road, every heartbeat that he had, every feeling he could contain. All at the same time.

He gulped loudly. Where would she stay? She had no where to live. Billie bit his bottom lip. He should have planned this out earlier. Tre was sitting next to him. What was the kiss, then? Out of friendship or something more? His stomach gave a lurch.

Who was this girl? Billie's head was whirring a million miles a minute. Mike's girlfriend? They were planning to go out for a date. And he ruined that too. He was ruining everything. Relationships. Friendships. School grades. Himself. He had to clean up his act, or he would be dead by the end of high school.

The car rolled up into the street. Adrienne was there, neatly packing boxes into her car. Her face looked sad. There her boyfriend was standing. It was the first time he had seen him. He was tall. Tan. With bright blue eyes. And muscular. Everything Billie was not.

He slammed the car door shut. "Adrienne!" he shouted, running towards her. He felt underdressed. If he was going to spill out his feelings to another person, he would have at least wanted to wear something other than an old shirt and some holey pants.

"Adie, wait. Don't leave yet." She turned around, a shocked look on her face. Billie grabbed her arm. He felt like begging. "Adrienne, please. Ya can't go. I know you have another life back home, but I want you to have a life here." Adrienne put the last box she had into the car.

She didn't have to say a word. "Comon, you never even saw my band. You'd like us. I swear." Adrienne's boyfriend rested his body up against the car. "Adie, who the fuck is this?" He looked down at Billie with narrowed eyes. He looked threatening.

Billie shook his head. "It doesn't matter. It just doesn't fucking matter," he held his head up. The rims of his eyes were shaking with tears. "Please. Don't leave. You're the only reason why I'm staying."

Adrienne opened her moth to speak.
