Loser. Weirdo. Faggot., chapter 7

It was raining outside. Billie only had a windbreaker, but he didn't care. He needed to get away as fast as he could. His throat tightened up. He leaned over to throw up, but nothing came out.

It was fucking miserable. He was running away. Like he always did. "You bitchy little wimp," He thought to himself, rubbing his hands against his face.

He hadn't run far. Across the street from Mike's house was a park. He sat down on one of the old rusty swings, as far away from the house as he could be. He was drenched. A warm stream of water came down his face. Tears. He slammed his hands against the swing bars.

He was more frustrated than ever. Why did it have to be raining? It was days like these that reminded him of his dad. Not the jackass of a father he had now, but his real dad. The provider. His shelter. He would have know what to do. His dad had been always there, raising a perfect, well-mannered son. And then he died, and look how Billie turned out. A walking corpse, filled with shit no one should have to deal with.

He felt himself slide off of the swing, into the mud underneath him. He looked up to the sky. "Dad, Why?! What the hell am I supposed to do?!" A faint cry of thunder answered him. But not his dad's voice. His knees collapsed, leaving him a shaking mess on the ground.

It was desperation's end for him. He had a good relationship with his girlfriend, and then she dumped him. He looked up to his older brothers and sisters, but then they moved away. He had the best dad he could ask for, and the he left him too. Everyone in Billie's life was leaving him. He might as well leave too.

He took his time getting up, looking through mud caked eyes. He was totally covered, except, for a few spots in back. He had no interest in Tre. He knew that. But then why had he liked the kiss?

Before he left, he thought about going back to Mike's, but remembered Tre was probably there. He would pack up his clothes; leave a note, and then run away, using his mom's old station wagon. He walked around the park, planning. And then he saw a girl. The girl. From Gilman a few days ago. Why was she here, in the rain?

He casually approached her. "Uh, excuse me. It's raining outside. Are you okay?" She turned around to look at him, a frightened look across her face. He was still covered in mud. He tried to wipe his face off. "No, it's okay. Don't be scared. We met the other day... At Gilman, remember?" She still looked worried. "I bought you a drink."

Her expression changed. Now it was out of surprise. "B-Billie Joe?" She stuttered out, trying to remember his name, "What the hell happened?! Are you hurt? You're covered completely in mud!" Billie rolled his eyes. "Gee, ya think?" He sat down near her. She laughed.

"The question is why in fuck's sakes are you here? It's like a hurricane out side." Adrienne blushed a bit. "I came out here to think. I saw the park a few days ago, and needed time away from my cousins. And then I saw some freak of a boy looking up into the sky. Strange, huh?"

"Yeah," Billie murmured, looking down into the grass. "What a strange thing."
