All She Had Was Tears Left In her Golden Box, chapter 10
Another week passed. Zacky was going. He was going to be his super Zacky figure instead of super dad. I was worried that something will happened. I knew that, they will be fine and ok and come back in one piece, but what if one of them got hurt? I said my good-byes to the guys and waved Adie's little hand. She doesn't know what her dad does, or what I do. We confirmed her godparents are Brian and Maria, so just in case if anything DOES happen, they are her second family. Me and Adie went back inside. I hooked up a webcam so me and Zacky can see each other.
-A few months went by, now in Nov. Britt's P.O.V.-
Thanksgiving is a time of thanks. I was putting up some Thanksgiving decorations with Val and Maria. We were all eating at my house. Last night, Zack said they were coming back for four days, Thanksgiving weekend. All of our family, the WHOLE A7X clan, were coming over. Luckily, we have a pool. We got the house all set up, as in, mowed the lawn, picked the weeds, and everyday housework. Adeline was starting to stand and I videotaped every minute of it. I was 12 months when I started walking and talking. Adeline is a happy baby, never cries. Only when she is awake, hungry, or diaper change. Other than that, she's a good girl.
I put Adie in her bouncer and we watched Titanic. We were at the part where the ship splits in half. All three of us were crying. Then, the door opened.
"LUCY, I'M HOME!!!"
"ZACKY!!!!" It was them. I hugged Zack so tightly and everyone hugged everyone. It was a good day. I picked up Adie. "Say hi to uncle Brian, Matt, Jimmy, and Johnny." "Well gee, hey there little pretty lady." Johnny greeted her. Everyone was happy to see eachother again.
It was Thanksgiving and the house was so crowded. As usual, the dads and sons would watch football and drink beer. The kids were playing in the pool, and us A7X girls were preparing the buffet. Everything came out perfect. They came home, the food, the day, everything!
During thanks, what Zacky said wasn't at all what I thought. He said it so sweet and I thought I was going to cry. "I'm thankful, for Brittany. For Adeline. Without them, I wouldn't know how I cooped during tour."
"Drinking," said Matt. Everyone laughed. I gave him my 'I love you' look and he gave me mine and we shared a romantic kiss.
After dinner, when we were all cleaning up, and some were leaving, Zack pulled me aside and asked what I wanted for Christmas since he wouldn't be here until then. I told him that, I wanted to see him under the tree. He laughed and asked, anything but that? I said a simple no. But he was going to ask the girls what I wanted anyways. He was goiong to go out with just Brian and Matt for holiday girlfriend and family shopping while Johnny and Jimmy waited at their next tour stop. They were leaving that night so it wasn't like, the two J's were going to wait another week to start playing.
I watched the sun go down and I saw the car pull up. Zack came up and said he was leaving, again for the tour. I was holding back tears and I hugged him. Adeline was sleeping and I told him to have his webcam ready for tomorrow so he could see her. He nodded and left. What a merry Christmas it will be with him.
-Dec, 23,2001 Britts P.O.V.-
"Baby, why?"
"Because, I won't be back til Feb. 13. I'm sorry babe."
"Zack, can't you just sneak out??"
"Haha, Brittany. Please, remember what I told you? In 1999, this is what we do."
"I know, but the fact it's almost Christmas."
"I know. I feel bad."
"You should."
We said our good bye's and I just sat on the couch.
-Zacky's P.O.V.-
"I got her."
"You did, so she fell for it?"
"She wants me under the tree. That's what she is going to get."
"Zacky, you are gay. You know that?"
"Yes, and what are you doing with Maria?"
"Happy thoughts. As usual."
"That's suppose to be on New Years."
"Its an everyday thing." I laughed at what he said. The bus was going home, but I had to stay away. Maria and Val also didn't know about the surprise which made it even more interesting. All five of us got in a hotel for the next night.
The next day, we were on a shopping spree. We had our faces hidden so they wouldn't see us. They were in the store. We had beanies on with Matt's kind of medium sunglasses and Brian with his one of a kind hat. We were all playing it safe. Until one of the mall securities thought a different kind of person, so we had to hurry. People would do anything at Christmas, like they did at the WTC in September.
People kept looking at us like we were going to rob something. The securities finally gave in and fucking booked us. They took off our beanies and we were putting our heads down, so they still wouldn't see our face. Too late. The securty officer holding Jimmy pulled his head back told him to keep walking. Val saw Jimmy and look at all of us. She calmly told Maria and Britt and they looked at us.I kept my head down and told Matt and Brian to never look up, no matter what. The security holding me was jerking my head up, but I was fighting him and he nailed me into the floor. He called for back up while Johnny, Matt, and Brian were defending themselves. I had to look up, and I saw what I never wanted to see again. Their faces, so choked in tears. They left, they didn't want anything to do with it, hell, if I was Britt, I would've done the same thing.
Somehow, Johnny managed to escape and Matt, Brian, and I were yelling to keep on running and never stop. They took us in the car and we told them that we didn't do anything. We didn't steal anything. Nothing, nothing at all. They told us that, I was going to be in there for 4 days for fighting back. I hit my head on the cage and Matt was trying to calm me. Johnny is getting it worse than me. I gave them the bail talk, $4,000. They said alright and set us free and as for Johnny, well.
I snuck in the house and had a ribbon around me, which kept getting caught in both my nose and lip ring. I went inside a box, large enough to fit a person.
-no ones P.O.V., Christmas day-
She came downstairs to the sound of a box falling on the floor. She got Adie and went to the family room and started handing a large box that was from 'Dad'. Brittany looked at it closely and couldn't have possibly gotten it when he was arrested.
When they worked their way to the back, Brittany noticed a box on the floor next to a large box, big enough to fit a person. I opened it and Zack jumped out yelling 'Merry Christmas!'. Brittany gave him a sad face, but hugged him. He told her he didn't want to be seen and they thought something else.
"But you fought back. Why couldn't you have just let it flow."
"Because if I let my head up, you would see me and I didn't want Adie to see. I'm sorry." He handed her a box. She opened and cried. It was her birthstone in the middle with two clear diamonds next to it. She put it on her finger and hugged Zack.
"I thought you were never coming hom until I saw you."
"Well, Johnny got it good."
To Brittany, it was the most bizzare Christmas ever. But at the same time, it was a very happy one. They had they're Christmas dinner with friends and family like Thanksgiving. Adie was playing with her doll house Zack had given her. Everyone was happy. Well, maybe not Johnny, but Jimmy was also part of the bail. Zack got Johnny a few hours later and brought him back to the party. They had a merry Christmas.
