What do you mean?, chapter 2

The summer would pass slowly. I knew that.
I had woken up in my new house, my room all boxes. I had opened some, but most were left in a corner. The rest of my room was vacant, all but my phone, my bed, and me post board full of pictures of my and Luke. I was startled, but when it all came back to me I cried for an hour and a half, until my pillow was so wet it seemed it had been dipped in water.
I sat up feeling groggy and upset. I came face to face with a picture of Brandon and I feeding each other fries. It was then that I decided that I didn't need to communicate. Maybe if my mother would see that I wasn't going to make friends here, we could move back!
As soon as I was dressed in all black- (I had decided to wear only black to show my mourning.) Pants, a Green Day hoodie, and socks to boot, I sat in front of my phone, waiting for it to ring. I cried seventeen times, stopping in between for ten minutes at a time to catch my breath.

"Sweetheart!"

I looked around, surprised to hear another voice. My room was so empty it echoed. The voice came again, all sunshiny and fresh and happy.

"Sweetheart, come downstairs and meet the neighbors!"

I gave a little scream and stood up, slamming my head against my wall. I started to cry again. I hated neighbors. I needed to stay by my phone to see if Luke would call! I sat back down and watched the phone. I heard my mother's footsteps coming up our new spiral staircase. I hurried and unpacked a box, pulling out my CD player and 'Dookie'. I plugged in the CD player and put in Dookie, blasting it loud as I could. My mom pounded on my door. In return, I turned up "Having a Blast" louder and pounced to lock my door. Unfortunately, I was too late. My mother stormed in, turned off the music, and grabbed my arm. I was dragged downstairs.
I put my hood up and refused to even glance at my neighbors. They could eat shit for all I cared. I listened closely for any ringing at all.

"Uh, hi there!" A male's voice said.

"Sweetie, this is... " My mom started.

The phone rang.

"Luke!" I cried. I ran up the stairs to my room and picked up the phone.

"Hello, we're calling about the cable... "

I was so disappointed that I slammed the phone down and burst into tears. I was acting so childish. I should give the neighbors a chance. But in my grief I didn't seem to care, and I locked my door and fell asleep staring at a picture I had taken one week on a field trip.

Billie's P.O.V

"Uh... " I scratched the back of my head. That kid was something else. Man, it was way to bad Adie had dragged me over here. I was kicking Joey's ass at Halo2! "Who's Luke?"

"Her best friend... I don't get her. She doesn't have any girlfriends, just that damned Luke. He's such a bad influence. Excuse her. Do you have any children?" The new neighbor, now known as Jane, said. "That was just Celia... she's so confusing."

I thought this all over. I suddenly felt sorry for that kid, and had an urge to meet her. I completely ignored this annoying woman and dazed off, looking at pictures. In one picture were "Celia" and her friend, Luke. I only guessed it was him because under the label it said "Celia and Luke, Cottage."

"We have two kids, Joey and Jakob. But their a bit younger then your daughter." Adie explained to Jane. This woman was scaring me.

"Why don't you sit down and make yourself at home. I'll go find my daughter!" Jane said, skipping up the stairs.

Adie glanced nervously at me.

"She's weird." I said.

"I agree."

But we sat down and waited.

End of P.O.V

Normal P.O.V (Celia's)

My mom was dragging me downstairs again. My face was tear stained and red, and I was still crying. My heart was broken like a twig.

"Please Celia!" She muttered. "One word. Just say Hello! Please?"

I ignored her, refusing to talk. I silently entered the living room. My mother sat me down on the couch across form the neighbors. I didn't look up, I didn't look down, I just kept focusing on my leg until my focus became blurry.

"Right... " My mother said. "Celia, this is Billie Joe and Adrienne Armstrong. Their our new neighbors."

In a short bit of excitement, I thought I might look up. But then I thought, how many Adie and Billie Joe Armstrong's can there be? I nodded slowly.

"So, I heard you playing Dookie. Are you a fan?"

I was surprised he knew what Dookie was. I nodded again, remaining silent. A tear rolled down my cheek as I thought about my copy. Brandon had gotten me it for Christmas when we were in grade six.

"Hey are you okay?" Adrienne asked. I felt the cushion next to me sink in, and I knew she had moved over next to me.

"She just misses her friend," my mother said, being a bitch. "I'm going to go get us some lemonade."

She left the room. I looked down at our new carpet. It was an ugly brown color. Who the fuck decorated this?
The phone rang again, and I jumped up. My mother grabbed it, and started talking. For the first time, I had looked up.
Wish I had've looked up sooner.
I was wrong. It was that Billie, the famous rock star. Yup. Wow. That's life for you. I was so shocked I almost didn't hear my mom cry,

"Honey its for you!"

I bolted to the phone.
I completely forgot about Billie Joe Armstrong sitting on my couch, and I talked to Luke for two straight hours.
