My Daughter, The Emo (Sequal to "She's My Fucking Daughter! I Have To See Her!"), chapter 2
We walked out the store with nothing but a pair of earrings and a hat. I quickly ripped the tag off and put the plaid hat on my head. Being a star's kid is tough in the first place, but I just found out that I was. Now the media is all over my white ass.
They rip my clothes, knock me to the floor, cover me in bruises, and when it's all done and finished, they seriously expect me to answer really personal questions. Where is your mother? Are you mad at your father? just to name a few. Ah, then there's my personal favorite: What's it like to find out that you're mother was a whore when she was thirteen? It's a cold, cruel world out there. It's not our fault that it is. We just live in it.
Anyway, we walked out the store and walked through the food court. We stepped into the elevator. Clarice grabbed my hand. She knows I'm claustrophobic.
We went to the second floor and stepped off. As we did, a boy with long, blonde hair, brown eyes, and very light skin passed us. I made eye contact with him. He smiled and I quickly looked away, blushing as I realized I'd been caught looking.
"He's cute,"Clarice said, sipping on the Coke she had just bought. "Eh,"said Dani, focused on looking at a pair of diamond earrings on the other side of a glass window. "God," she said, "those are so cool. I wish I could afford them."
"Well how much are they?" I asked, walking up next to her.
"It says 5."
"Thousand?!"
"Yep."
"That's alot for just a pair of diamond earrings."
"Yeah. It's only 5 karots anyway."
"Yeah."
"Well, we should get going."
I made a mental note of what store they were in. Her birthday was coming up. Dani and Clarice are like daughters to my dad. Plus, he's rich. Kinda snobby, rich-girl attitude coming out but, I'm sure he'd let me get them for her.
***Billie's POV***
I sat on the couch holding Jakob as he slept. Mischief kept trying to crawl on top of him, but it was pretty hard with my big hand swatting at him.
After about thirty minutes of my pushing him off the couch just so he'd jump back on and try again, Adi walked in and put him in her lap. He purred so loudly.
"He sleeping?" she asked, looking at Jakob. I nodded and looked down at him. Life is so great right now. It's these moments that I love the world.
I love being a dad.
***Scarlet's POV***
We stopped outside of Spencer's gifts. Dani and Clarice walked inside. I didn't feel like going in. I just sat on a bench outside.
About two minutes leater, someone sat next to me. I looked up. It was the boy from the elevator. "Hey," he said, "you're Scarlet Armstrong, aren't you?"
"Depends," I said smiling,"do you have anything to do with People magazine?"
"Nope."
"Good. Then yep, I am. The one and only."
"Man, you're so lucky. The name's Pete, by the way."
"Pete. I like that name. So, how's life treatin' ya, Pete?"
"Heh. Alright I guess. Say, um, you wouldn't possible want to go out sometime, would you?"
"Uh..."
"Come on, please? I've had a crush on you every since I saw you on the cover of my mom's Reader's Digest. Please?"
"How old are you?"
"Seventeen."
"Ya see, I'm only fourteen and..."
"Please! I know it sounds like I'm begging-"
"You kinda are."
"Sorry. C'mon, please? Just to the movies or something."
"Well, uh... I guess so..."
"Awesome! What's your number?"
I hesitantly wrote my cell phone number on his arm and he got up with a "I'll call you later!", waved, and then he was gone just as Dani and Clarice came out of the store.
