My Daughter, The Emo (Sequal to "She's My Fucking Daughter! I Have To See Her!"), chapter 3

When I got home, I flopped down on my bed and looked up to see a picture of Davey Havok that was tacked to the ceiling, staring back at me. He was possibly my best friend. Well, in the paparazzi's eyes. But still, he's cool. We really hit it off the first time that Dad had introduced us, even though he's a couple years older than me.

My cell phone ringing startled me from my thoughts. I looked at the screen. Pete. I hesitantly answered it. "Hello?" I said.
"Hey!" his voice rang over the line. "It's me!"
"Hey, me."
"I mean Pete."
"Duh. I knew that, stupid."
"Oh, well, um, what's up?"
"You called me."
"Heh. Right..."
"You're trying too hard."
"Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just not really used to talking to girls. Famous ones, at that."
"Aw, that's cute."
I knew he was blushing.
"So, um, Scarlet, are we still on for the movies?"
"Yeah, sure. I'll just need to bring someone."
"Really? Who?"
"My friend, Clarice."
"Cool. I'll bring my friend, Matt. We'll double or something."
"Nice."
"So I'll see you Saturday?"
"7:00 sharp."
"Cool, bye."

I hung up. What am I doing? I haven't been here a year, and already I'm going out with guys I don't even know without my dad's consent. Oh well, at least Clarice will be there. She does this kind of stuff all the time. I'll be fine.

I got undressed and turned out the light. Man, it's been a long day.

***Billie's Point of View***

I sat on the couch with Adie laying on my shoulder, watching something about Green Day on MTV. Something about us being the #1 band in America at the time. At the time.

The telephone on the end table rang. I picked it up. "Hello?" I said.
"B-Billie?" a woman's voice said on the other line.
"Liz?"
"Hi, Billie."
"Liz, why did you call me?
"I, uh, well, I-"
"Liz, you're high."
"Nuh-uh."
"Yes you are. Tre's called me millions of times. I think I know what a high person sounds like."
She let out a short laugh. Then there was a pause. "Is Scarlet there?"
"She's asleep, Liz."
"Can you wake her up?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because she's tired."
"So?"
"Liz..."
"Billie, she's much as my daughter as she is yours! Now let me talk to my daughter!" She was crying.
"Liz, go get some rest. Call back in the morning when you're sobered up, okay?"
"O-okay, Billie. I'll call in the morning. Then I can talk to Nobody?"
I listened to that name. So horrible.
"No, but you can talk to Scarlet."
"Okay, I'll talk to Scarlet, Billie."
"Goodnight, Liz."
"Goodnight, Billie-boo."

I hung up. Jeez, I haven't heard that name in so long. Billie-boo. Thank God I married Adie.
