Bleeding Hearts, chapter 19
I sat on a swing in the park as Tre and Rose sat in the corner talking. You could just see that Rose was pregnant and as they sat in each other's arms they looked so happy. Rose would be happier living with Tre than she ever was with me. She hated me but loved Tre. I couldn't let Tre get sent to prison but I couldn't let them stay living like this. I looked up and saw the clouds start to rain. The tarmac soon got soaked and lightening struck a few miles away. It didn't seem to bother Rose and Tre too much. They just snuggled up closer and Rose closed her eyes. Neither of them were looking at me and at that time I made a decision. Without them noticing I snuck out of the park and into the darkness.
*Rose's POV *
I looked into Tre's eyes as rain fell onto my face. He pulled me closer and I snuggled up against his chest. I closed my eyes and let my-self drift off to sleep in his arms.

I woke up with a policeman standing over me. I grabbed Tres hand because I was still sitting in his arms.
"Come with me," the man said.
I slapped him. "No. Stay away from Tre. He didn't do anything."
The man smiled. "I know. Your mother has confessed and taken all the blame."
My mouth dropped open. "What?" I asked. I sounded quite dumb when I said it but it was all there was to say really.
Tre had his mouth open to. Rain was running down our faces and our clothes were soaked.
"Come on you two," The man said and took us into the back of a police car out which was parked out side the little run down park we had been in. I held onto Tre's hand all the way into the city. I had never been in before. I had always lived on the outskirts. It actually freaked me out a bit. All the buildings where so big. I was used to tiny motels that smelt of urine and never went a month without some sort of crime going on. We drove past all sort of expensive looking shops then into a little police station.
We got out and were taken down a corridor and into a small room where my mum sat with two other chairs and another policeman.
"Right then," he said as we all sat down. "We need to know what has been going on."
Grace sighed. "I did it."
The man looked at her. "Did what?"
"I killed Gavin. I tried to kill Tre to but he survived. So then I kidnapped him."
The policeman looked at her inquisitively. Tre and me had our mouths open. "But how did you try and kill Tre? His car was driven into the water. And him and Gavin were the only ones in the car."
I rolled her eyes. "That's simple. I was in the car when it went into the water. Tre was unconscious when it went in. He had had too much morphine. I gave it to him and Gavin. Then as the car hit the water I jumped out and swam. When I heard he had survived I found him and took him."
The policeman was starting to look a bit more convinced but he still had questions. "Why did you want to kill Tre and Gavin and why didn't you kill him afterwards and why have you turned yourself in?"
She leaned backwards in her chair. She had obviously been through all this in her head and knew what to say. "I wanted to kill Tre because he ruined my sisters life. Gavin found out what I was up to because he overheard a conversation I was having on a phone outside his house to Rose. So I had to kill him to. Then I didn't kill Tre afterwards because I couldn't bring my self to kill him that time. I felt so bad after killing Gavin that I could not do it the second time. I am turning myself in because I love my daughter and I cannot keep her living like this. On the run all the time."
I was in disbelief. She had never done anything without expecting anything in return before... Now she was giving up her life for Tre.
"And what were you talking to Mr. Dirnt for?"
She laughed. "Oh Yeah. You see the thing about that is that he sort of worked it out. We have been talking for years. We knew each other when Tre and Greta were going out so he called me up just for a chat but then slowly worked out what I had done and stopped calling."
The man looked through his notes but could find no flaws in her claims. He turned to Tre and me. "Well it seems you two are free to go...as long as there is nothing you want to say on the matter."
I looked at my mother. I half wanted to turn Tre in and stop her doing this but I could see how sure of this she was and simply shook my head. Tre did the same and we left the station without a fuss. My guts told me this was wrong but I left hand in hand with Tre.
We arrived at Tres house about ten minuets later. We knocked on the door and Claudia answered. She screamed and hugged him tightly. "Oh my god!" She yelled. "FRANKIE! RAMONA!"
Two children appeared at the top pf the stairs and as they saw Tre they jumped in the air and ran down the steps. Ramona tackled him to the floor and Frankie climbed into his arms.
"Hey kids." He shook Ramona off and stood up. He stood there with Frankie in one arm and with his other arm around Ramona's shoulders. "Frankie. Ramona. This is Rose. And this..." He walked over to me and placed his hand on my stomach. "Is your new little brother or sister."
