Tripping Over Drum Sets, chapter 15
Billie Joe ended up convincing me to go back to their tour bus to have a couple drinks and catch up over the last 4 years.
"So have you had many boyfriends?" asked Mike.
"A couple. Not too many. I've have Nick for about a year and half now." I said shrugging.
"So when is the wedding?" asked Adi.
"He just asked me today! I don't even have an idea!" I said. Adi nodded.
"Are we invited?!" asked Billie Joe excitedly.
"Well duh! of course you are! Even though you didn't invite me to your wedding!" I joked. Billie Joe and Adi kind of looked away and blushed. "It was a joke!"
"Yeah, we know. But we still feel kinda bad." said Adi.
"Nah! Don't worry about that. What's done is done and you can't do anything about it after it's over with." I said looking almost directly at Tre, who looked away almost instantly. I could tell that he was thinking about what he did.
"Well, I have some really, really good news!" said Adi all of a sudden. I tilted my head in question. "I'm pregnant!"
"Oh my God Adi! That is wonderful!" I said, taken by surprise.
"And we used the test the Billie Joe bought when you were down! Isn't that funny?
"Yeah, do you know if it's gonna be a girl or a boy?"
"We don't know yet. Any thoughts for names though?" she asked.
"If it's a girl it should be Abby and if it's a guy, it should be Joseph." I finally said after about 5 minutes of thinking.
"Oh! I like Joseph! Let's name him Joseph if it's a boy!" said Adi. Billie Joe was just as excited as Adi. It seemed like he like them name too. After the boys finished explaining to me how they made it big and all that shit and just basically catching up on the past 4 years Billie Joe decided he was going to take Adi home because she was falling asleep on his shoulder.
"See you guys later!" he whispered as he picked Adi up and carried her away. We said good bye and sat there just talking.
"I have to take a piss and a great big shit!" said Mike as he stood up and let out a huge fart. "See?" He left and I crinkled my nose.
"That was rancid!" I said gagging. Tre didn't even notice what I said because he was dying from uncontrollable fits of laughter.
"Oh... my... fucking... God!" he said almost falling out of his chair. I let out a cough of disgust.
"That... was gross." I said simply. Tre nodded.
"Um, Saidi, about the last time we spoke. I'm really sorry for what I did to you... to us... but mostly to you. I was a dumb fuck and I got drunk and I can't remember that much after that, because I was a dumb fuck! And I smashed your heart and your trust in me into a million fucking pieces and I was really pissed with myself that I wanted to end my life. But then I thought no. And I was gonna move out so you could stay in the Bomb Shelter, but you beat me to it. And if I could do it again, I wouldn't have even gotten drunk! And I'm really sorry for fucking everything, EVERYTHING, up." he started. "I'm such a fuck head! Saidi, could you ever forgive me? I'm so s-" I cut him off.
"Of course I can forgive you. It's been 4 years after all. And I don't hold grudges." I said as I leaned in an kissed him.
"You still kiss that same way you did when we met. Your lips are still soft." he said quietly and dumb struck, obviously in a bit of shock. He started leaning in for another kiss. I kissed him again and stood up. He tilted his head at me as to ask "Why?"
"I'm getting married Tre. I gotta be loyal." I said as I kissed him on the forehead and left. "Talk to you later." As I was leaving I saw Mike coming back. I handed him my cell number and told him to give it to everyone so we could hang out later.
"Oh, okay. See you later, Saidi." he said giving me a kiss on the
cheek. I turned my head and got it on the lips.
"I got it back." I said tauntingly. He smiled and opened the door to join Tre in the tour bus. I was still in my muddy clothes, so I wrapped my jacket even tighter around me to keep warm as I kept an eye out for a taxi. When I saw one, I waved it down and hopped in. I told the directions to my house and within minutes, I was back inside my room getting changed and snuggled into bed with Nick, feeling slightly guilty that I kissed my ex. But at least it wasn't passionate kissing, or doing it. And I kissed Mike and Adi too! So it's not that big a deal... is it?
