Whats's My Age Again?, chapter 6

After they had brought Lory home, the boys drove to Mike´s place and smoked.
"Good day..." Tre said, leaning back against the wall.
"Yeah, although it started quite shitty." Billie Joe retorted.
He lay on Mike´s bed, using the whole space he had, so that Mike himself had to sit on the floor next to Tre.
"We should practise......" Tre said suddenly. "I mean...we won´t get better by doing nothing."
"Yeah, we should." Mike agreed, looking over to his bass.
Billie Joe was the only one who didn´t say anything. He was a very lazy and impatient type, so he wasn´t too crazy about practising.
Contrary to Mike, who had patience for all three of them and Tre, who just loved to play the drums.
"What about tomorrow?" Tre asked, looking around for response.
Billie Joe groaned and turned on the bed and Mike shook his head, staring at the floor kind of embaressed.
"I can´t." he said. "Sorry."
"The day after it?" Tre asked.
Mike nodded, but this time Billie Joe shook his head.
"Nope, can´t do it."
Tre frowned.
"And I don´t have time the day after that..." he mumbled.
"We´ll have to do it next week." Mike stated, taking a drag.

"So, where do you wanna go?" Mike asked.
"I don´t know. Decide."
"Okay... Let´s go....to..umm...ah! Let´s eat ice- cream!"
Lory smiled. "Okay."
She had been with Mike the whole day and they had had a lot of fun so far.
And now he bought her ice cream.
She thanked him with a kiss on the cheek, which made him blush slightly.
"So you have a band?" she asked him.
"Uh, yeah....but we need a little practice."
"..then, why don´t you practise?"
Mike blushed again, feeling a little guilty for dumping the boys to be here and do this instead of playing with them.
"Ah, no time. It´s difficult." he answered, changing the subject. "What about your friend who played at the school concert?"
Lory giggled.
"Oh, she´s a little pop princess. It´s not my music really, so I dunno, but I think she has a good singing voice."
"Uh...a pop princess?"
Mike frowned. It wasn´t his kind of music, too.
"Yeah. Not everyone can listen to real good music." Lory said, shrugging.
"Oh!" she screamed suddenly, running across the street to the little park and sat down on the swing.
"Come on, Mike!" she yelled over to Mike, who was running after her.
"Let´s swing a bit!" she laughed.
Mike hesitated. He looked up and down the street to see if there was anyone he knew, but then really sat down on the swing next to Lory.
"Let´s see who get´s higher!" she said challenging.
"Great, but I´ll win anyway!" Mike answered giggling.
