The Story With No Title, chapter 2

That night Ivy was so excited, and immediately called her mom, Jill. She wondered why her mother would chip into something that may cause her daughter to go nuts. Ivy could be trampled, or lost, or molested, or murdered, and now her mother doesn't care? SWEET! Ivy thought as she fumbled to hit the proper numbers (She always had trouble with phones).

The phone finally began to ring and Ivy took a deep breath. She heard the familiar voice of Jill on the phone. "Hello?" Jill began.

"Hey mom!" Ivy began. "That you soooo much for the present! I love it! I'm soo excited!" She blurted out.

There was a chuckle on the other end of the phone line. "I'm glad you love it kid! I thought it would suit you fine. But..." Jill trailed off. Ivy knew there would be a catch. "I'm giving you extra money to find a good hotel. There's one really close to the concert area, so I hope you go there. Don't spend it on junky souvenirs and then sleep on the streets."

Ivy rolled her eyes. It was another one of her bad habits, buying souvenirs. "Yes mom. Maybe it's the same hotel Green Day is staying at!" Ivy could imagine it. She, Ivy Gyberg, sleeping next to the room that Billie, Mike, Tre or Jason would be staying at.

She could tell her mom was not impressed. "Don't get your hopes up. I think they would be staying at a fancier hotel. But...You get to meet them! Probably for a while too! I don't think they would just ditch you. Be careful, I don't trust the punks that go to the concerts though."

Ivy laughed. "Mom, that means you don't trust me."

"No, I do trust you. But you aren't a chaotic punk who does drugs and gets drunk 24/7. At least...I hope not..." Jill trailed off.

"No mom. I can be chaotic, but I don't do drugs and get drunk. I tried though!" Ivy grinned.

"What?"

"Yes."

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!" Jill blurted out. Ivy was now in hysterics. "Oooohh... Playing tricks are we?"

"Mom, you know I'm only kidding. So how's Deric and John?" Ivy asked. Deric and John were her two brothers. Deric was older by two years and John was younger by four years. Deric wanted to move out since the age of 14, but was too lazy to ever do so. John was quite happy playing with his game cube and roaming around in his family member's rooms. Ivy would never be mad at him. He was just too carefree.

Ivy's mother sighed and spoke, "Ahh... They're fine. Deric is still just sitting on the couch being a potato, and John...Well...He fell out of a tree and broke his leg, but everything is alright now. He's still hopping around happily...As if nothing had happened."

Ivy heard Sam knocking on the door to the room they shared. "Awww...Tell John I'm sorry for him, but I gotta go mom. Thanks again! I'll try and call you with a pay phone or something...K bye!" Ivy hung up when she heard her mom say her byes as well.

Sam opened the door. "You talking to your mom?" She came in carrying a bag from the corner store. It was undoubtedly full of candy and chips with two cans of pop.

Ivy nodded and licked her lips. "For us?"

"Yeah. I originally had more, but the idiots downstairs mugged me of my lollipops. Damn them to hell." She frowned and sat down on the bed across from Ivy while shaking a fist at the door leading to downstairs.

"Not the lollipops!" Ivy joked while looking through the bag of goodies and grabbing a bag of sour cream & onion chips...Her favourite. "Yum." Ivy opened the chip bag and took a handful before handing the bag back to Samantha.

She grabbed a handful and shoved a few in her mouth before talking, "I mean, I had the best fucking lollipops there. Orange and red ones! And the little fart heads had to take 'em all!" She shoved the rest of the chips that were in her hand into her mouth. She got up, rubbing the greasy chip crumbs all over her jeans and moved towards their dresser. She grabbed the plane ticket and the concert ticket.

"Hey..." Ivy said warningly. "Put those back where you found them..."

"I got them for you...Jeez." Sam stuck out her tongue and brought them back to the bed and stared at them for a few seconds before commenting on them. "Hey...You're leaving...You're leaving in less than a week. Two days from now, so you pretty much just have tomorrow to get ready...Wow...And once you land, the concert is the next day. Wow...Your week is like...Planned!"

"No shit Sherlock!" Ivy blurted out, while finishing the handful of chips she had in her hand.
