We've Made It So Far, chapter 2
We weren't on the plane long before I felt a nudge on the back of my seat. Tre is already bored I thought to myself. I chuckle as I look behind me and Tre is preoccupying his time with a pile of colouring books and a sharpie. He looks up and asks me if I want one but I turn down the offer. I glance at Billie in the window seat sleeping peacefully every once in a while he would snore. I smile and lay my head on his shoulder still a little shaken over my nightmare.
"I don't know what I would do without you," I mumble into his black shirt.
"You'll never have to worry about that."
I look up and see Billie's eyes full of love and drowsiness. I smile and peck his lips before laying my head on his shoulder again. I start to fall asleep as he plays with my hair I can feel his steady breathing on my head and I slowly drift off.
"Daddy!" I hear Joey screaming from behind me as I try and breathe. I hear his sobs and another voice joins in this one a little more high pitched.
"No daddy, no!" I sob harder and feel a hand on my shoulder, I turn around and see Mike with a tear stained face and Tre next to him.
I don't want to turn around because I know what's there and I can't face that ... not again! My babies still screaming and me not able to move. I start to shake.
"Adie, come one."
"No, I can't!"
"Come one wake up! We're getting off the plane."
"Huh?" I look up to see Billie nudge me to move as the other passengers are leaving. Embarrassed I grab for my stuff and hurry off the plane with Billie, Mike, and Tre close behind.
"Hey babe, are you alright?"
"Of course why wouldn't I be?"
"You just seemed kind of upset."
"I'm not, I just needed this weekend to relax that's all."
"Are you sure?"
"I would tell you if I was upset. Don't worry about me, Hon you've got to think about the tour."
"Okay. Come one lets hurry, we've got an expensive hotel room that needs to be used," he said raising his eyebrow suggestively.
We all found ourselves at a bar down the road from the show they would be performing the next night.
Tre had picked up a blonde and was busy making out in the corner booth and Mike was doing shots with Jason.
I heard a country song come over the jukebox and saw Billie smirk. Not because he didn't like it, because he wanted to dance. I heard the lyrics start up.
It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
I blush as he stands up and takes my hand. We walk to the floor and I feel like a teenager again as I stand there blushing. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his hands a round my waist. We pull ourselves close and I rest my head on his shoulder.
Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude
It was so beautiful as Billie and I swayed to the song and I picked up my head, he bit his lips as he looked into my eyes. I felt like I had fell in love again and I loved every bit of it. I felt tears sting my eyes as I remember the dream.
I bit my cheek and smile at his hands moving their way down to my ass. I look at him and smile.
'What will I do without you Billie?' I couldn't get the thought out of my mind.
The music stopped and I pulled him in close to me and whispered, "I love you more than life Billie. Please never leave me."
A tear fell down my cheek as he spoke, "I wouldn't leave your for the world. I love you too much. I promise I'll be here for you."
The weekend flew by and soon I was leaving again. I had more dreams along the same lines as the first two every time I had fallen asleep.
I shuddered as we made our way to the airport, getting on two separate planes was almost worse than just getting dropped off, because we knew neither of us would be having fun. Unfortunately I couldn't wait to get home but I didn't want to leave either.
"Bye babe."
"Bye. I love you."
"I love you too. Don't forget to tell the boys I love 'em."
"I will. I promise I'll bring them out soon."
I kissed him goodbye and stood there surrounded by his embrace and warmth.
I heard my flight being called and reluctantly pulled away and kissed him once more before turning and leaving.
I got onto the plane and sat in my seat without looking around. As soon as the seat belt sign went out I got up and went to the bathroom. I locked the door and sat on the sink. I had held up all weekend and couldn't any longer. I just started to cry and try to forget the dreams. I couldn't forget the pained looks of Joey and Jake; they were ten times worse than what I had ever seen. Mike's face was drained of all hope and happiness and Tre...Tre wasn't even there. He was there but not mentally, he just stared into nothing and didn't talk or move.
It was scary and I never wanted to go through that. I looked at my watch; it had already been two hours since we had taken off. I got up and left the bathroom and stared at the window the rest of the flight and didn't fall asleep, couldn't fall asleep.
I arrived home to an empty house. The boys were staying with Ollie and wouldn't be home until tomorrow evening. I went to the kitchen to get a can of soda and something to eat. I looked through the mail and found an envelope. It was from Billie, he had sent it to me from England.
Adie,
I love you more than words can describe. Never let anyone make you doubt that. I will always be here for you physically or mentally. If anything should happen don't ever hesitate to cry it always help. I know you needed this so I sent it to you so you would get it when you got home.
Billie Joe
"Oh my god Billie!" I said out loud.
I was in shock at how utterly adorable the letter was and bit my thumbnail to try and stop my continuous smile. I felt so much better now and I think I could last for a few weeks.
'Why had I worried so much anyway? It was just a dream no big deal'
I held my letter as I went upstairs to bed and placed it on my night stand and had the best sleep I had ever had since the night of my first dream.
"I don't know what I would do without you," I mumble into his black shirt.
