It All Started At Cookie Time, chapter 7

*The Next Day*
*July 2, 2006*
*Billie and Adie's 12th Anniversary (and my Best friend's birthday)*
*Still Billie's POV*

"Joey, Jakob, and Adrienne!" I called through the house "Get in the car. We have to go."

Today was our 12th Anniversary, and Adie and I were going out to dinner to celebrate. Trè and Claudia had offered for the boys to sleep over. Ramona was in town visiting Trè from New York, so Joey and Jakob could catch up with her.

I packed up my family, got in the car and drove to Tre's. Claudia answered the door and let us in.

"Happy Anniversary guys!" she said hugging Adie and I, once we were inside.
Trè came down the stair and did the same.

"Okay, guys we better get going we'll see you tomorrow," Adie said hugging her sons.

"And remember boys, don't eat anything Trè cooks. Jakob you remember how sick you were the last time you ate his marvelous cookies."
"Yes, Trè, I can not stay up with anyone who is sick for a while. I am still catching up on sleep. Although I think Joey and Jakob put together when they're sick aren't as bad as Billie that time," Adie said.
"Hey!" I said pouting

"I know, I haven't lost so much sleep since Frankito was a baby," said Claudia
"Excuse me, but you weren't the one puking your brains out all night were you," Trè argued
"No, But I had to stay up with the one who made the cookies who made him sick and his son," she said back.

*Claudia Flashback*
*11:45 pm*

After Adie's party I went to visit a friend. I walked in the door quietly because I knew Trè was going to be asleep and so would Frankito. They have had a big day.

I walked in the door to see a light on from the upstairs bathroom. I heard someone coughing and throwing up. I knew Trè got together after the party with Billie and Mike; he must have been drinking and had a few to many. I went into the bathroom and saw Trè sitting on the bathroom floor, and my son hunched over the toilet. Trè was rubbing his back, and telling him he was going to be all right.

"Is he okay?" I asked "What happened?"
"He's okay, for the most part," said Trè who wasn't looking great himself. "He fell asleep watching a movie with Jakob when Billie was here. After he left I carried Frankito upstairs and put him to bed. Like an hour ago he called me into his room and said his stomach hurt. So I went to get him some water and he threw up while I was gone. So I cleaned it up and brought him in here. Then you came."

I walked over and put my hand on my son's forehead.
"He doesn't have a fever," I told Trè

"Hmm..." said Trè acting like he was in deep thought.
"This is serious," I said to him.

Just then Trè got a funny look on his face and ran out of the room.
"Frankie, I'll be right back okay?" I told Frankito who gave me a weak nod.

I heard a noise coming from the other bathroom. I walked in and turned on the light.
*End Claudia Flashback*

"Alright, Adie let's go," I said

"Bye, love you," Joey and Jakob said to us, coming to give me a hug.

"Be good to her Billie," Said Trè "She's stayed with you for this long, I know you wanna keep her."

"Watch it, Trè," Adie said.
"Yeah Trè, We met when Al was in the band. That means she's been around longer then you have and she plays the drums. So watch yourself," I said, watching the drummers face fall.

Adie and I got in the car, and I put on the CD I made her. It had all the songs I wrote about her on it, like; Redundant, Church on Sunday, 80, Private Ale and 2,000 Light Years Away.

I even put on Brain Stew as a joke and a few of her favorite songs, All but Minnesota Girl.

She looked at me strange when Brain Stew came on.

"What is this song on here for?" she asked
"What do you mean?" I replied
"Well all the songs I heard so far you wrote about me," she said
"Technically that is about you," I said. She looked at me strange.
"That was when I was really tired after you had Joey."

She rolled her eyes at me.
"You were tired from what? Sitting in bed waiting for me to feed him so he would stop crying."

"Mhm" I said taking her hand. She laughed.

We got to the restaurant and got out of the car.

*Tre's POV*

I was looking in the refrigerator for a drink and Claudia walks in the room.

"I know your not thinking about cooking" she said.
"Nope, I am getting something to drink." I said pulling out a soda.
"Good because we have 3 kids tonight and there are only 2 of us, so if they were sick, we're screwed." I said
"Not uh," I said "You get 2 in 1 bathroom. One gets a bucket and one gets the toilet."
"Nice, Trè." She said laughing. "Well we would be so tired, you wouldn't make it."
"Thanks for your support." I said "Wanna call Billie and tell him all the kids are sick and see what he does?"
"No" she said

*Back at the Armstrong House*
*Billie's POV*

"Adie, I'll be up in a second," I told her.
"Okay, Hun," she said and then went up stairs.

I went down to the basement and grabbed my guitar. I ran up stairs and knocked on the door.

"Come in," I heard Adie yell, through the crack in the door I saw her sitting in bed.

I walked in and began to play Minnesota Girl.

Sittin' on the hood of a camaro
Walkin' shooting stars across the earth
Counting all the bites from the mosquitoes
There goes my Minnesota girl

Lazy days
Gone without notice
In a daze...with faraway eyes

Driving to a closed spot Wednesday afternoon
There goes my Minnesota girl

In a daze
Go without notice
Lazy days....with faraway eyes

Countin' from the pieces we have been through
Here comes my Minnesota girl
There goes my Minnesota girl

At this point I was sitting with her. I ended the song.

"I love you Adrienne," I said kissing her forehead.
"I love you too Billie Joe," she said kissing me.
"Can you believe twelve years ago we were in my back yard getting married?" I said
"Our Marriage is almost a teenager," she said laughing. We sat in silence thinking about that.

"That means Joey is gonna be a teenager too," she said
"What?"
"We found out about Joey the day after our wedding," she explained "That's 12 years ago tomorrow."
"We're gonna have a teenager in a little over a year," I said "Will that make us old? I will not handle being old well."

"You'll do fine," she said "If you will be old then, I must be old now, because I am older then you."

"Oh my god," I said sitting up. "I'm married to an old person."
"Thanks, Love you too," she said pulling me back down and kissing me.
