It All Started At Cookie Time, chapter 8
*The Next Morning*
*Adie's POV*
I woke up and looked over at Billie. He was still sleeping so I decided to go make some coffee for us.
While the coffee was brewing, I went over to where I kept the photo albums. I found one of them past couple years; it had pictures of our wedding, Joey and Jakob being brought home from the hospital and us visiting Billie on tour over the years. I heard Billie coming down the stairs. I closed the book and went over and poured two cups of coffee. I handed one to Billie once he was in the kitchen.
"Bill when you're ready you gotta pick up Joey and Jakob," I said
"Okay," he said sleepily. God, He takes forever to get up!
*Later That Day*
"Alright Adie, I'm gonna go get the boys now," He said smiling, "Are you sure we can't leave them and have another night alone?"
"No, I miss my boys." I laughed. "Now get outta here!"
"Fine, I know when I'm not wanted," he said sarcastically.
I laughed as he walked out the door, and went back to cleaning up. After that I went, sat down on the couch and looked through the book that had the best years of my life pasted onto the pages.
*Billie's POV*
"Hey Trè," I said as one of my best friends opened the door to his house.
"Hey Billie, have a good time last night?" Trè said smirking.
"Adie and I had a great time. We went out to eat at her favorite restaurant. Now where are my kids?" I said walking into the house, smacking him over the head as I walked by.
"Joey, Jakob!" I called.
"Dad!" they said running up to me and hugging me.
"Okay guys lets get home to Mom, alright? She missed you guys. You guys didn't eat anything the master chef cooked did you?" I said pointing to Trè "He still has his reputation."
"Relax Billie, I ordered us pizza, and we watched the Spongebob Movie," He said, "OH MY GOD! Billie, watch this, it's so cool, FRANKITO, RAMONA COME HERE AND SOMEONE GRAB MY DRUMSTICKS."
Frankito and Ramona ran down the stairs with Claudia right behind them. Ramona handed her father his drumsticks.
"Okay guys, let's show Billie our awesome skill," he said as Frankito, Ramona, Joey and Jakob lined up shoulder to shoulder.
"1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4!" Trè yelled tapping his drumsticks.
"Not again," groaned Claudia from the stairs.
"I'm A Goofy Goober," sang Jakob.
"YEAH!" yelled Trè.
"You're A Goofy Goober!" said Ramona pointing to Joey.
"YEAH!" yelled Trè.
"WE'RE ALL GOOFY GOOBERS!" yelled Trè.
"YEAH!" yelled the kids.
"Goofy Goofy Goofy Goobers YEAH!" they all yelled.
I stood there in disbelief.
"We worked on that all night," said Trè, proudly.
I was speechless.
"Claudia video taped it and made copies for you," He said "Ya know so you or Adie could see it, whichever one of you didn't come."
I looked up at Claudia who was still standing on the stairs. She shrugged.
"Okay," I said.
"Bye Uncle Trè!" said Jakob hugging Trè.
"Bye Lil' J!" he said.
"Bye Uncle Trè!" said Joey also hugging Trè.
"Bye Big J!" Trè said.
"Bye Uncle Trè!" I said imitating my boys' actions "I'll see you at practice tomorrow right?"
"Yes Billie, I am prepared to drum until my arms fall off," he said.
"Uncle Billie, you won't really make Daddy drum until his arms fall off will you?" said Frankito looking up at me with a scared look in his eye.
I crouched down to his level.
"Frankie, you know I would never do that," I said "If I ever wanted to make your daddy's arms fall off I would make sure you were there to help me."
"Okay!" Frankito said happily. Frankito and I loved to joke around.
"Hey!" said Trè tickling Frankito.
"We'll see you guys later," I said as I walked out with my sons in front of me and closed the door.
*Back Home*
I walked in the door to see Adie sitting on the couch crying over a book. I ran in and sat next to her. Joey and Jakob went up stairs, they were arguing about video games.
"Adie, Hun, are you okay?" I said.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Happy tears," she said.
I looked down; she was looking at a photo album. It was a picture of Adie in a hospital bed holding a baby. Joey and I were on either side of her.
"Hey, that's the day Jakob was born," I said, smiling. There were tears coming to my own eyes.
"Mhm," she said smiling.
She flipped back a few pages. That was where our wedding pictures were. I looked at the pictures, she silently turned the pages. It was funny watching ourselves and our kids get older, and Adie get bigger in the pictures that we were expecting.
"What's that?" Adie said looking at the tape in my hand, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Oh that, is something Trè taught our children when we were out last night," I said, putting in the tape.
We watched it and Joey and Jakob came down the stairs and sat with us. For the rest of the day we sat around watching home movies. Even stuff from when Adie and I were little.
We came across one that was when Adie was pregnant with Joey and Trè was teasing her cause she couldn't drink. Adie was pouting and I was standing next to her with my arm around her, protecting her from Trè, so someone else was filming. We even played a song for Joey because we heard about the playing music for your unborn baby thing. It was so funny. It made me remember how excited I was when Adie and I found out we were going to be parents and how on tour I was reading parenting books after our shows when we were back on the bus.
"Dad, you guys were so weird before you were parents," said Joey.
"Yeah, we were. We had to get all the craziness out before you guys," I told him, ruffling his hair.
"Well if all the craziness is out then how come at the concerts, you put your hand down your pants?" asked Jakob.
"Good question," said Adie laughing. I think she was just as shocked as I was.
"Hey!" I said, pretending to be hurt.
