Why Am I Going Crazy?, chapter 1

The sun shone done on my flushed face as I lay in the park, staring up at the clouds above me. I breathed in and out heavily, I had a right to... I had just won a fight against some guys who laughed at me while I was skateboarding through the park. I have a quick temper so when my tember flares, there's no stopping me. I chuckled as I shut my eyes contently. Suddenly, I felt as if some one was watching me so my eyes shot open to find two beautiful ice blue eyes staring down into mine.

"Ouch!" I yelled in shock... 'Ouch? Why is it that every time I'm shocked, I say "ouch"? I've really got to stop doing that.' I thought to myself. The boy started laughing at my remark and his beautiful eyes gleamed.

"Ouch? I didnt even touch you!" The boy remarked.

I just rolled my eyes "What do you want?" I sneered. Yes, I know mean huh? But that's just how I am... I'm not used to actual friendly human interaction... let alone from a guy.

"Leave her alone Mike, she's way out of your league... dont even try!" another male voice called. The boy (who now i assumed was called Mike) glanced away from me, at some person who i could not see.

"Shut up Billie!" Mike shouted playfully. I let out a giggle of my own at the scowling expression Mike was giving Billie.

*Mikes POV*
'Why did Billie have to jump in? Once a girl I like sees Billie, I stand no chance from that second on.' I thought to myself, scowling at Billie. Suddenly, I heard a giggle from the girl and I was pretty shocked... a girl laughed at me! I extended my hand to the beautiful girl who lay below me. "Hey the name's Michael Pritchard... Just call me Mike."

The girl didn't take my hand but she introduced herself in a friendlier voice... "Jessica... call me Jessie." I stared at her, entranced... Her beautiful brown eyes eyed me suspisiously... but the most beautiful grin spread across her face and I knew that had sealed the deal, I was in love with this girl that i had met no more than five minutes ago.

*Jessie's POV*
As if the fact that a guy decided to talk to me... he was now staring down at me, an expression i didnt recognize in his eyes. The grin on my face slowly disappeared as an akward silence hit. "YOOHOO!" I finally yelled, breaking his trance.

"Oh... sorry," Mike blushed for a second. "I... well I was just wondering... if you would like to get ice cream with Billie and I." This question took me back... but I smiled sweetly.

"Uh... sure, like I have something much better to do." I agreed. Mike extended his hand towards mine once again, but this time I took it as he helped me stand up. Billie was pretty good looking from what I could see... But there was something in Mikes eyes that I liked but I couldn't quite place my finger on it.

I sat across from the guys and, seeing as i had no money, looked on as Billie and Mike wolfed down their ice cream cones. Occasionally, Mike Let me have a lick or two, but most was consumed by Mike himself. I liked these two boys already, I had gotten to know them a bit better on the walk over here and they weren't half bad. Just as Mike was about to ask me something, my pocket began to sing:
Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go then there will be trouble,
and if I stay there will be double
so come on and let me know
should I stay or should I go?

"Shit!" I scowled, standing up and whipping the phone out of my pocket. "Yes mom?" I answered in an obviously fake sweet tone.

"Jessica, dear, you're late... where are you?"

"I'm at the ice cream shop... why?" I asked.

"You need to come home and finish your homework," she stated sternly.

*Mikes POV*
"But mom!" I heard Jessie plead before giving up and saying "Fine, fine I'll be home in a few," Jessie turned to them and sighed. "I have to go... my mom needs me at home."
My heart sank, I never wanted her to leave. Surprisingly, she handed me her phone. "Type in your number," she said with her beautiful voice. "You too Billie." I quickly typed in my number and saved it, and Billie did the same.

"When will you call?" I asked her as she scooped her skatboard up and tucked the phone back into her pocket.

She shrugged "Who knows, I may never call... it depends what mood I'm in." And with that, she was gone
