Love Me Tender, chapter 3
I looked behind me, and then I saw Master. He was shoving people out of his way, and leering at me. I looked up at the stage, and I saw Ryan's eyes flicker over to me. I grabbed the stage in panic, and look over my shoulder.
Master grabs my shoulders, and whips something out of his pocket.
In the flickering spotlights, I see what it is.
It's a knife.
He presses it against the soft skin of my neck. Because I was pressed against the stage, nobody behind us could see the knife. The only people that could see the knife were me, and Ryan.
Ryan's eyes widened as his fingers missed the chord. Spencer glared at Ryan, wondering why he had missed the chord. Then Spencer saw why, and stared. I struggled against Master. Suddenly, a particularly strong surge of the crowd pushed Master, and his hand slipped. I felt the burning sensation as the knife cut me from the soft skin behind my ear, across my jaw, and ending at the corner of my lip. I clutched at my face fell to the ground. For a moment all I could feel was the vibrations of the music pounding though the floor and into my body, and people stomping on my fragile body. I felt my face, my hips, my waist, my legs, being stepped on by the crowd. I heard Ryan's words escaping Brendon's mouth.
And then the crowd surged forward, and I heard and felt no more.
