Love's Eternal Requiem, chapter 4

We left Ville's home and wandered into town. It was so dark out, yet the sky was so bright. He led me to a cozy-looking home. He beckoned for me to go inside with him. I did as he said, as I didn't know exactly what to do or how to do it. After all, I was completely new to his vampyric ways. We went inside so quietly and I followed him up the stairs. He opened a bedroom door and in there was a beautiful woman. She had long blonde hair and fair skin. She was asleep in her bed.

Ville walked over to her quietly and grabbed her softly and bit into her neck. She gasped when he bit into her, but she did not wake. Ville was so gentle. His sweetness to killing amazed me and I just stared at his silouhette in the dark room. He rose up after he bit into her and quietly told me to drink from her. I kneeled down onto the ground and bit into her. As soon as I felt the rush of her blood into my mouth, I felt my hunger slowly being satiated. I realized another thing Ville and I had in common. We had our gentleness.

I couldn't help but feel her misery as I drank from her. How in her life she had been betrayed for so long. How she'd longed for death as I had at one time. Her children had died in an automobile accident. After that, she lost her zest for life. She wandered alone in her life. No one to comfort her. No children to care for.

He told me when to stop drinking from her and I did. I rose from the floor and observed to now dead woman on the floor. She looked so peaceful and beautiful, yet her nightdress had a bloodstain on the neck of it. She would now be able to rest in peace with her children. Ville and I had answered her prayers.

Ville looked into my hazel eyes, "You've done so wonderful, Allison."

"Thank you, Ville," I said, noticing that tears were running down my eyes.

"What's the matter, sweetheart?" he asked as he brushed my cheek with his hand. He had also noticed the tears running down my eyes.

"It was so strange, Ville. As I drank from that woman, I FELT her pain. It was so deep and true."

"That is your gift my darling. Empathy. You feel the pain of your victims."

"Ahh. I've always been empathetic. But never to this degree. I felt her pain as my own."

"Yes, I know my love. Well let's go. I want to show you something."

"Okay, Ville."

We left the womans house and walked through town hand in hand back to Ville's home. I looked around at the beauty of the night. When I was mortal I had often gone walking outside at night. The night sky and the stars were so entrancing now though. They seemed brighter and more brilliant now that I was a vampyre like Ville.

We arrived at Ville's home a little while later. I followed him inside and down the hallway to a room that looked as if it hadn't been entered in a long time spare the fact that it was dusted. I sat on the daybed in the room as Ville disappeared into the closet for quite some time and then came out with a little wooden box. He handed it to me and I adored the little design on it of a crow sitting atop vines entangled with roses.

"Open it, my dear," he said softly.

I opened the little jewelry box then slowly pulled out a gorgeous necklace with two golden hearts melded together. On one of the hearts were the initials 'A.C' and on the other were the initials 'V.A'

"Oh Ville. You kept it all these years." I said softly.

"Of course, my love. You gave it to me the night you passed. I wore it around my neck for over one hundred years then I put it up in your jewelry box to keep it safe until we were reunited."

"Now even death cannot seperate us ever again, my darling," I said sweetly, as we kissed lovingly.

"I love you, Allison."
