Billie, Bob, Jayde, and Sarah. Mike, too., chapter 13

"Me?" I squeaked after a while. "Are you sure you're talking to me and not some rich or famous or beautiful, or all of the above, girl?"
"I," he said, "am a chicken."
"What?"
"I'm headless and running around in this messy pen. I just confessed to you, one of my best friends in the entire world, that I love you, and everyone knows you love Billie."
"I... " my voice trailed off and I felt weak in the knees. "You... and me... and Billie... oh damn." I fell to my knees, unable to hold myself up any longer.
"Jayde..." Tre bent down and put his hand on my shoulder.
"Damnit! How could you do this to me Tre! I... you know I like Billie! How... how could you?" I dissolved into tears and broke his grip on my shoulder. I became aware of him trying to break into my mind. Sharply, I turned and ran away, not sure where I was headed. As always, I was running from pure fear. I was afraid Billie would freak if he found out, I was afraid Tre was horribly mad at me, but most of all I was afraid Tre had gotten far enough into my mind he had found out that I loved him back.
Another Tre's Honorary POV:
"No..." I whispered. She didn't love me. I had made myself a fool and probably permanently ruined our friendship. I'll be outcasted out of our outcasted group of... outcasts. Above all... Sarah was right. She wrecked me. Inside. She killed me, Jayde did. I slumped back down into bed, when an idea suddenly popped into my brain. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom, locking the door behind me. She was my everything, and now I have nothing.
Billie's POV:
The phone rang once, twice. I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this a... Billie Joe Armstrong?"
"Yes..." I answered to this formal voice.
"You have been requested at the hospital, your friend, Tre is here--"
"Oh, GOD!" I moaned.
"Now, sir, I can assure you--"
"Oh, GOD!" I moaned again. I dropped the phone on it's receiver and fumbled to get my shoes on. Sorry Jay, I thought in my mind, I have to ditch you! True, she hadn't come back yet, but she was bound to anyway. I grabbed my jacket (hey, what you expect, it's practically night!) and ran out the door, only I was stopped some five feet of my front porch.
"Oh, sorry..." I looked at her.
"Why are you crying, Jay Jay?" I asked her. She looked horrid, her eyeliner ran down to her knees (so to speak), and her hair was distraught, and her eyes, besides the makeup, had dark circles surrounding them.
"It's nothing." she said dismissively.
"Did he...?"
"No, not Dad, I haven't seen him today," she said hoarsely.
"Go inside and go to bed, Jay, I'll be back soon." She nodded and slowly went inside. I then ran my way to the hospital.
***
"It's me, Billie. Where is he?" I blubbered to the nurse behind the counter. She read a list to herself and told me his room number, 3A. I shuffled down the hall as fast as I could without getting in trouble, you know, I don't want to get kicked out because of something stupid, that would take longer to see Tre.
I finally reached the room, and I burst throught he door. I gasped at the horrid sight.
"Tre?" I squeaked. His heart moniter was slowly, and not even steadily, beating. "Nonononono! What happened?" Of course he couldn't answer, and the doctor had left for the visit apparently. Tre was covered in a gauze thing, but blood seeped through. He had blackened eyes and casts on an arm and a leg. He looked like he had ran into a collision with an airplane falling 3,000 feet from the sky. "Tre?" I called again, fuzzily. The monitor stopped.
