Nothing Is Stopping Me, chapter 5
Billie kissed Adie's lips softly and gradually started to make his way down her neck. "No. No. Billie?" Adie buried her face in his shirt, smelling the faint smell of cigarettes and booze.
"What's wrong Adie? Seriously, that normally turns you on and we fuck like rabbits after!" Billie raised his eyebrow and played with Adie's hair.
Adie was about to cry. Nothing really 'turned her on' anymore. Too emotional she guessed or too scared. She only kept her face in her husband's shirt. "You just don't get it do you?" she sobbed.
Billie couldn't hear because her voice was too muffled. She didn't even know if she heard herself correctly either. "What did you just say?" he asked still playing with her hair.
She looked up and him and gazed into his eyes. "You just don't get it. Do you?" she sobbed, tears starting to run down her face.
Billie looked taken aback and held her in his arms. "What don't I get honey?" Adie just kept crying into his sleeve. "I'm sure I can help," he reassured her.
She backed away shaking her head. "No, you won't. You can't. You just don't get anything!" she screamed and grabbed her shoes running out of the house. She ran down the road heading to Mike's house.
Billie ran after her, chasing her down the street. "Wait! Adie!" he yelled whilst dodging people along the way. "Just tell me!"
Adie could barely hear him; her heart was pounding so hard. Telling her to run back and just say she was overly dramatic. But something in her brain was telling her to run to Mike's. He wanted to see Billie, why not in that manner?
Adie saw Mike heading out of his house. "MIKE!" she screamed and slid into him. He grabbed her and saw Billie come racing down his driveway.
"What the fuck is happening Adie?" he asked staring and the pain stricken Adie shaking like a leaf. "What did he do?"
"He doesn't get it! He doesn't know!" she tried to scream but it only came out in a whisper.
Billie caught up out of breath and bent over with his hands on his knees. "What - the - hell - Adie?" he managed to say.
Mike raised his eyes questionably. "Adie? Seriously. What the fuck is happening?" he asked staring at her.
"He doesn't get it! HE DOESN'T GET ANYTHING!" she shrieked. She continued to cry, as Mike's eyes widened.
He turned to the confused looking Billie and whispered "Billie? I think it's best if you let her stay with me for a bit." Billie frowned.
"Why? Is everything okay?" He stepped forward only to have Mike's hand block him from Adie.
"I'll tell you later," Mike reassured. "Now just go home and everything will get settled."
Billie shot Adie a dark glare and then swivelled around towards the street. Adie and Mike saw his slim figure fade out into the street.
