Nothing Is Stopping Me, chapter 6
Mike stared at Adie who was staring at the man who had caused her the distress. He pulled back some of her hair. "Ouch." He pursed his lips. She looked down. "Listen, Adie. He doesn't know, for a reason-." He began.
"-Well he SHOULD know!" She interrupted. She stared into the clear blue eyes of Mike.
"It's not that easy! There are a lot of things that should be easy, but they aren't! We just have to get through things the best way we can and-" Mike began again.
"No! Sometimes you can't just rely on that saying!" Adie retorted. She shook her head whilst she was face to face with her husband's best friend.
"Well this might be one of those times Adrienne!" Mike screamed his voice full of rage. Adie looked taken aback. He looked down uncomfortably, scratching his neck. "Listen." He said and put his hand on her shoulder.
Adie stared at it. He took it off quickly. "I'm listening." She stared at him again, with weak eyes and a troubled mind.
"You need to talk to him." Mike calmly whispered.
"Why does everything seem so easy to you? My fucking husband is a fucking alcoholic with no fucking idea of what he does! You're not the one that has had to live with that pounding on your soul." Adie screamed another few tears dripping down.
"I know it's not easy! I never said it's easy!" Mike snapped.
"Yes you are! I wish things were as easy as your brain thinks they are!" Adie screamed.
"Adrienne! I can't believe you're saying this! He's your husband for fucks sake!" Mike shrieked.
"My sick husband! No fucking thanks to the rest of you!" She mind scrambled. Why was she saying those things? She was saying it was the bands fault, but it was really Billie's choice to do what he does. She could only blame it on other people.
"Listen here you-" Mike began to come back when Adie interrupted him.
"-I'm sorry." She blurted out. "I'm sorry for blaming you guys. You didn't do this to him. It's his ideas. Not yours." She wiped her eyes with the end of her sleeve.
Mike tilted his head and raised his eyebrows a bit. "Okay." He whispered as Adie buried her face in her hands and knelt down. Mike squatted beside her and wrapped his arms around her, which was the beginning of a long hug. Mike slowly stroked her back and whispered, " Adie, I know this is hard to believe, but everything is gonna be fine in the end."
"It's too hard!" She sobbed into his shoulder.
"Com'on. Lets go inside, it looks like its going to rain later." Mike rubbed her shoulders and helped her get up.
When Mike entered the house followed by Adie they saw to their shock Mike's girlfriend lying on the couch wearing a very revealing red dress.
She saw Mike and said in a low voice, "Come here you sexy thing you!" She moved her leg up and down on her other leg, suggestively.
"Now is not the time-" Mike began, being cut off again.
"Yes it is! LET'S HAVE A BABY!!!" She shrieked getting off the couch and running to Mike, her hair and arms flailing.
Adie stepped out of the shadows and the girlfriend saw her. Her face immediately went red and stopped dead. "Hi." Adie waved.
Mike's girlfriend blushed some more and kissed Mike on the cheek before giving Adie an evil glare and heading up the stairs. "Follow me when she's gone!" She muttered and they could hear "stupid fucking no good bitch had to show up again at the wrong fucking time. Fuck this no stupid baby for me mother fuckers." They heard her slam the door to the bedroom.
Adie raised an eyebrow at Mike and he shrugged with a sigh. "You've met my girlfriend, Julie?"
Adrienne nodded slowly and made her way to his couch (the other one). "Do you actually like her?"
"She's great in bed." Mike blurted out. "And as a friend... " He added looking at the expression of disgust on Adie's face.
