Wicked Wishes: until the end. (2nd ending.), chapter 1
We went into the parking garage and sat on the ledge. Billie handed me a cigarette. I looked up at the sign that said No Smoking.
"Fuck that," Billie said noticing the sign too.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Don't play dumb Riot. I know you smoke and I know that you smoke more then just cigarettes some times," I took the lighter from him.
"So do you want the Good news or the bad news first?"
"I don't care."
"Ok, well the good news is Marsony's going to be ok. He might even be going home tomorrow. And the bad news is... " Billie went on.
"They can't save them Riot."
"Them? What do you mean by them?"
"Chadd was, Wells she was 5 weeks pregnant."
"Oh."
Oh? That's all you can say about this? I thought to myself.
"How do you know its mine?" I looked at Billie.
"I don't know, I'm just telling you she was. We could find out if you wanted to."
"No. I know it is. Did she tell anyone?" Billie nodded.
"Bayzer."
"Why wouldn't she have told me?"
Billie shrugged.
"She was afraid Riot.""
"I asked her to marry me for fucks sake; you think she would have known I would have stayed with her baby or no baby," I said, frustrated.
"Riot, I think she knew you would have stayed. But the thing is, she knew how you reacted to pressure. She might have thought that it would have been too much for you."
I didn't say anything. It started to rain. I looked over the ledge at the cars that drove by on the busy downtown street.
"I would have made it work," I finally said. "At least I would have tried."
"I know you would have," Billie said.
"So are you mad at her?"
"How can I be mad at her Billie Joe? She's dying. I just don't understand why she thought that."
"You know she's right though."
"I know, but it doesn't matter. I still would have stayed with her and done my best to make it work."
"I know Riot."
We didn't say anything for awhile.
"So what? Did you get down on one knee?" Billie smiled.
I laughed.
"No. Actually when I stood up to give her the ring I tripped over the coffee table and fell."
Billie laughed.
"That sounds like something you would do. We should get on the road it's a long drive home."
"I want to see her again, she's going to wake up and I'm not going to be there."
Billie looked at me.
"I don't think she is going to wake up again."

I walked back into the building anyway. David and Chadds mom were walking out of the room. She was holding David's hand and crying. I sat back down in the chair when I walked into the room. She was asleep.
"Chadd I loved you and I would have made this work. I would have done my best."
I wasn't sure if I should say good bye. And If I did, how should I say it?
"I'm going to really miss you Chadd. I...I don't see why you have to go. Why can't you stay? I'm not going to be able to do anything with out you."
I sighed and rubbed my eyes.
"I wish you would stay. I don't want you to go. I was stupid and always doing stupid shit to make you worry."
I was to sound more like a 5 year old then the 18 year old that I was. But I didn't care.
I stood up and stood by the bed.
I kissed her on the cheek.
"I'm not going to say goodbye," I whispered. "So Ill just say I love you...I love you Chadd."
I turned and walked out of the room. I rubbed my trying to ignore the fact there were probably tears coming from them.
I noticed there was a doctor in a white lab coat standing in the corner of the room. She was holding a clip board and crying.
She must have heard every word I said. It toke me awhile to figure out who she was.
It was my mom.
I walked over to her.
"I'm sure you did your best to save her," I said. "I guess it just wasn't enough."
"I didn't know you knew her, I didn't know you felt like that towards this girl," she said back.
"Well now you know. But I really don't think it would have helped change the outcome."

On the Ride home I watched the rain beat against the Window. I banged my head against the door over and over again.
"What are you doing?" Billie asked.
"I'm never going to see her again." I banged my head even harder. "Ever."
When we got home Adie was sitting on the couch. It was around noon. When we got home. Billie went back to bed after he talked to Adie.
"I'm so sorry Riot."
"Fuck that," Billie said noticing the sign too.
