Wicked Wishes: until the end. (2nd ending.), chapter 6

"You'll feel much better if you scream," Ron said when he came up the next week. We were standing over an underpass on the high way.

"Actually..." I said leaning over the edge. "I think I'd feel better if I jumped."

"Don't be stupid," Ron said. "Scream."

"I don't see how this is supposed to help. But whatever." So I screamed as loud as I could. A few passing cars honked.

"Feel better?" Ron asked.

"No," I said to him.

"Oh."

We walked down to the high school and sat on the steps. "I can't believe you asked her to marry you!" Ron said.

"I loved her."

"Love's fucked up."

"If it always ends like this then hell yeah it is."

"It's like your uncle says: To fall in love and fall in debt."

"But he's in love and he sure as hell ain't in debt." I pointed out.

Ron laughed. "Yeah 5 mill. a year has got to be doing SOMETHING for him."

"I want to move to Sacramento with you."

"Really?" Ron said.

"Yeah, I can't stand it here anymore. Every goddamn thing reminds me of her."

"Well of course you can Riot!"

"Great."

"So when are you planning on moving?"

"Now if possible," I told him.

"Now? Yeah sure! You may want to tell Billie first though."

I nodded.

"Billie?"

"What?"

"I'm moving in with Ron," I said the moment I walked in the door.

"What? NOW!?" he said jumping up from the couch. Tre and Mike were sitting across from him.

"Yes now. I have to go pack." Mike and Tre looked at each other. I started to walk up the steps.

"Riot wait!"

"Huh?" I said.

"Let me talk to you about this."

"Ah, no I've got my mind made up. I'm going," I said running up the steps. Billie was right behind me.

I ran into my room and pulled out my book bag and big army green nap sack.

"I know Ron is your friend and all But I think you're making a stupid choice. Ron is in a situation that I just don't think you should be in after everything that's happened to you this year."

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"Just where Ron's living and how he's making a living."

"So you're saying I can't go?"

"I really don't think you should."

"Well to fucking bad I'm going."

"Riot!"

"Billie Joe I've been nothing but burden this whole year. I thought you'd be relieved that I was leaving. I've caused you and Adie so many problems. I need to go before I cause anymore," I said sitting down on my bed.

He sat down next to me.

"You didn't cause any problems," Billie said, but I knew he was lying.

"My mom and dad were never there for me and you kinda took over. Even when I wasn't living with you I would have rather have been with you then with them. They never understood anything, they never tried to. Dad was either to busy drinking, running his mouth or pushing me around. Mom was to busy picking out my flaws. I could never talk to Ryan. We were just too different."

Billie Nodded.

"Your mom wasn't there for you I know some one had to be. Riot why don't you give it a day and think things over."

"Okay."

Billie stood up.

"Billie I can't stand it anymore. I miss her. I want to talk to her, I want kiss her, I want see her. But I can't because she's dead." Dead Dead Dead. The word echoed in my head.

"It's so hard."

"It's always going to be hard."

I walked back down stairs. Ron looked at me. "Riot, I'm gonna go home. You think about it and call me later."

"I will," I told him.
