Mike's POV
Okay, that was weird. I call Tre, Ramona answers, she impersonates a secretary, screams into the phone and then the line is dead. I knew something was wrong. I called Tre's house. I wasn't even sure that Tre would still be living in his mansion, I mean those guys cost a lot, I had to move into Annie's house cause it was way too expensive. I couldn't possibly imagine how Tre would be able to pay the expenses.
I anxiously waited for someone to pick up.
Tre's POV
A little spooked I slowly walked away from Ramona's room. But even as I tried to get the creeping sensation out of me, I couldn't. I walked faster down the hall as I fearfully watched the walls as if they were to close in on me. I crossed my arms in front me. Think happy thoughts, happy thoughts...I closed my eyes. Uh, sushi, championship golf, sex with Madonna, orange mocha frappucino, masturbating, drums, big sparkly pink hat, oh yeah and some nice heels and my Mr. Snuffles and Billie and Mike and...Billie and Mike and Billie and Mike and Billie and...I started crying as I realize all my happiness revolved around them. I cried, as I thought of all those wonder times together. When we where there for each other, even that time when I pulled down Mike's pants in front of a camera and I was arrested... and when Ramona was born and Billie got married...deep in my lovely sad thoughts, suddenly the floor beneath my next step seem to disappear and went tumbling down and hitting my head and every other part of my body and then finally the floor with a thud on my back.
"Damn stairs," I croaked. The house phone rang. I painfully got up and limped to the kitchen and picked up the phone.
"Cool house, Tre Cool speaking, how can I help you?" I groaned rubbing my back.
"Oh my god." Before I my brain could even recognize the voice, I screamed.
"MIKEY!"
"Tre, please don't hump the phone!" I heard his wonderful voice yelling at the other end.
"I missed you so much....Where have you been all my life?!" I sobbed into the phone like a baby.
"Tre, it's only been three years."
"ONLY THREE YEARS?! God, I'm getting old!"
"Me too."
"Why are you calling? Did...did you call Ramona?" I asked quietly.
"I called your cell, but she answered and then..."
"She screamed, didn't she?"
"Y-yeah... how do you know?"
"She...she lives with me...now," I said hesitantly.
"Really?" his voice sounded surprised, I knew he would be. "Why?"
I gulped. I didn't want to hide anything from Mike. He was my friend and I hadn't heard from him in 3 years. I knew he was probably wondering why Ramona seemed so horrified by the sound of his voice. I was scared, but I knew Mike would never do such a thing. Not to us. I was afraid that it would be true, but there was only one way to find out.
"Tre? Hello?"
I stood silent for a moment, trying to find the right words.
"Tre? Are you there? Tre!"
"Yeah..." I said weakly.
"Are you okay?"
"Uh, Mike..." I hesitated, fumbling nervously with the phone cord.
"Yes?"
"Did you... have you...ever...I just... I don't know... you're...you're my friend and, and..."
"Yeah?"
"Did you murder Lisea?" I asked quickly. My heart was pounding in my chest. Mike was silent.
"Tre, what are you talking about?"
My heart was in my throat. I couldn't speak.
"Did you get the letter?" I whispered, barely audible.
"Ye-yeah... "
"Did you know who it was?"
He was silent for a few seconds.
"Tre, what's wrong?" I gulped.
"Ramona... she... she thinks you killed her mom."
"What the fuck? Why does she think that? I...I haven't seen her in years!" Mike yelled.
"I...I don't know, but she's alive and...and I think she faked her own death and framed you just so she could get away," I said quietly.
"Get away? From what?" I hesitated. Should I tell him? Of course I should, Mike would never say anything... would he?
"From the police."
"The police? Tre, what the fuck is going on?"
"A year before I married her, she assassinated some senator from Montana who was out to get her and she ran away and changed her name, just to stay out of prison. And then she found me and we had Ramona and she married me, just to hide her identity."
"So, she faked her death because... "
"The cops found her again. I don't know how but after she found out, she faked her death and made it look like you murdered her."
"But...why me?"
"I think so you would be thrown in prison."
"But why?"
"How should I know?" I said frustrated.
"Ok, ok, so Ramona hates my guts now because she thinks I murdered her mom?" Mike asked confused.
"Yeah, just she thinks of you as a physco killer. Seriously, she has nightmares you come after her." I told him.
"That's great!" he said sarcastically.
"But now she's with Brittney and they're gonna kill Adie, Billie and Annie! Mike, we have to do something!" I urged him.
"I know, I know...this is so twisted, I don't know what to do!"
"What would Lisea and Brittney want so badly that they would Kill Adie and Billie, and have Annie hostage for 5 years?" Mike seemed to think for a moment.
"Greed. It's all about the Money."
"So, if we don't give them all our money, they kill them?" I asked. It really didn't make sense. It was kinda stupid. Why would they hold Annie hostage for 5 years then? Why did they make us break up?
"Maybe, life insurance? Plus our money, that's a lot."
"So they're after money?"
"Believe me, I swear if I hadn't stop myself from marrying Brittney, she would of divorced me for the money."
"I knew something was fishy with her," I said suspiciously.
"We need to figure this out," mike said determined, "we have to save Billie and Adie! And Annie!"
"Does Stella now?" he sighed.
"How about you come to my place and we'll get this all straighten out?" he suggested.
"Okay, I'll be there in five."
"I'm at Annie's old house." He reminded me.
"Oh, okay." I hung up. I stared at the phone. Everything was coming so fast, Mike and then the letter and Billie and Adie and Annie and...I need a drink. But I decided I have one when I got to Mike's. I grabbed my keys, and jumped in my SUV off the Mike's house. I couldn't wait to get all this shit sorted out.
