The Flinders, chapter 2
"Hey where are you taking us?"I say.
"Just calm down, be quiet and walk. It's not like we're going to do sumthing to you. We just want to suprise you with something..." Jimmy wispers in my ear.
"Jimmy,stop...you're freaking me out...and you sound like that Dude from MCR," I say.
"Whatever. Just stand right here and take off the blindfold when I tell you. Oh yeah I almost forgot....here," Jimmy says as he slides what feels like a guitar strap around my shoulders. I hear voices...and it smells like elementary
school....what the hec is going on here? Then I hear Jimmy yell from somewhere behind me 'Take the blindfold off!' so I do. Then I realize im on stage at the Pit during an assembely, with my whole school and a microphone in front of me. 'What in the world?....' I hear Amber say, then I realize that it has been exactly 1 year since we started our band.
I hear Jimmy whispers 'go...' so I say, "Hello everbody! I'm Whatsername, thats St.Jimmy, Nate, and Ann. Yes I know your saying 'No thats not your guys' names but we got stage names! Any way...We are The Flinders and we are here to eat your shoes!" and Jimmy plays the opening chords to Redundant.
'We're living in repetition.
Content in the same old shtick again.
Now the routine's turning to contention,
Like a production line going over and over and over, roller
coaster.
Now I cannot speak, I lost my voice.
I'm speechless and redundant.
'Cause I love you's not enough.
I'm lost for words.
Choreographed and lack of passion.
Prototypes of what we were.
Went full circle 'til I'm nauseous.
Taken for granted now.
Now I waste it, faked it, ate it, now i hate it.
Now I cannot speak, I lost my voice.
I'm speechless and redundant, 'cause I love you's not enough.

As we finish,I hear clapping. Weird...even the people who dont like Green Day are clapping thats cool. Hmmm How about......Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne for some fun... "That was Redundant by Green Day. This is 'Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne...." As we play I through a couple of chord that I know in. After we play a song by Relient K one by Switchfoot and a couple by Green Day.
We finsih off with Good Riddance. Jimmy must have read my mind because he handed me my violin before I even said what song we were going to finish off with.
For the next 2 years we played at schools and some local concerts. My junior year we signed a mini lable. It brang in enough money to buy some coffee or gas for the car. My senior year we signed a bigger lable because we were so good. Pretty soon we were going places we even flew to Texas. Finally after a few months of what I guess you could call touring we ended up in San Diego for an interview.
