He can be just a friend, right?, chapter 1

It was 11:30 in the morning, and it was already time to go to my crappy job. It's at the 7-11, but everybody has to start off somewhere right? Well anyways, I'm just 17 years old and I have a boyfriend. Yeah, a BOYFRIEND that I've been dating for quite some time now. His name is Joel Andy Sanders, and he's the love of my life. He has black spiky hair with some spikes dyed red, which looks kinda cool, and he dresses punkish. He wears black and red most likely, and he wears tight black pants which makes him look sexy, well for me. Getting back to my morning, I woke up from bed, stretched, and made my way to the restroom. When I was finished, I went back to my bedroom, dressed into my uniform, and headed to work. At work, Eric, the manager, was wating for me and sent me to the stock room to get the items, and put them in the shelves. I did as I was told, and Cindy, my co-worker, and best friend, was putting things were they were supposed to go, so I get them and put them on the shelves.

She was sweating out of breath, and I rushed in to help her, she breathlessly said, "Thanks, Adrienne," and I kept helping her. When we were finished, we grabbed the items and put them in a small cart. We strolled the cart to the small aisles and started stocking the items on the shelves, making a conversation as we went along.
Cindy said, "So, how's Joel?"
I replied, "Pretty good, trying to find a job, which gets harder and harder for him every week." I chuckled as I said this and she laughed as well and raised an eyebrow as she saw a really cute guy walk in.

She started to blush and I asked her curiously,"Cindy, why're you blushing?" She slightly pointed at the guy, and I looked up across the other aisle and saw him.
I tugged her on the shoulder and said,"Really cute, cute enough for you."
She giggled and said, "Are you serious, Addie? I mean look at me and look at HIM, I can't be with someone like that."
I can't believe what she just said, I mean she doesn't look bad at all and he looks good enough for her. I replied slightly, "Don't say that, Cindy, he's good enough for you and you look fantastic! I mean any guy would be lucky enough to go out with you."
She shrugged and said, "Oh well, he probably has a girlfriend. Let's get back to work." I looked at her and then at him, I gotta do somethng.

When we were finished, Eric sent me for cash register, and sent Cindy to the back with Steve so they could stalk some more items. I headed to the cash register, opened the little door in the way, and took charge, just in time for the cute guy to pay. He put his items on the counter, searching for the money in his black leather wallet. I took a good look at him. He had orange/brownish hair gelled, jeans, a black t-shirt that said 'Losers come first' and had the most amazing green eyes I've ever seen.

When he was finished rummaging through his wallet, he looked up at me with those gorgeous eyes and said, "How long have you been working here?"
This was quite an amusing question to ask and I replied shakily, "Well, not for long."
He nodded and said, "Well, um, you look pretty professional for this job."
I nodded and said, "Well um, this is the best I can I do, for now, until I go to college and search for a better one."
He nodded once again, and said, "So what's your title?" I was confused about the word "title", but I just simply said my name, just in case that was the answer he wanted.

He nodded once again and said, "Billie Joe, but you can just call me Billie Joe."
I laughed at his little joke and said, "Well, Billie, um I have this friend, and she seems to like you ever since you walked in the store, so do you wish to talk to her?"
He shrugged and said,"Well if she's as cute as you, then sure."
I was amused and blushed a little when he said that, and said,"Well she's in that aisle with Steve." He nodded in comprehension and walked towards her, with me watching every move.

He started a conversation with her, making her lose concentration on her job, and smiling like she never smiled before. They gave each other little pieces of paper, looking like a number, and he left satisfied, saying good-bye and thanks to me. My heart sank when he did that, making me feel satisfied with setting them up, they looked perfect together. In other words, I have a boyfriend who I care about so much, so I don't have to feel bad about it. But I'm sure I made a new friend.
