Cocky Brat, chapter 1
-2014-
"Ness, how would you like to spend a month in Europe?"
"Mom?"
"Answer the question."
"Sure, who wouldn't," twenty-one year old college student, Vanessa Cueburt laughs as she hold the phone between her cheek and shoulder.
"Good, because I'm on the crew for the twenty five years of Green Day DVD and my assistant got knocked up."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down," Vanessa says confused, "What's going on?"
"After this semester you have a couple of months off, right?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, because I need an assistant and you're free."
"Yeah okay, and what's this for?"
"You know the band Green Day?"
"Yes Mom, I haven't been living under a rock."
"Well, I got assigned as executive producer and I need an assistant who won't need to stop due to her pregnancy."
"Yeah sure," Vanessa says running a hand through her hair. "Will I be getting paid?"
"Of course," Her mother laughs, "You get paid to do as I say in the beautiful European scenery, wonderful isn't it?"
"Yeah," The twenty one year old laughs, "Maybe I'll meet a hot roadie, or tech person."
"Sure, if that'll get you to come, yeah."
"So when is this thing?"
"June fifteenth, we leave from San Francisco air port."
"Jesus, that's next week!" Vanessa exclaims, "Short notice!"
"As I said, I just found out my assistant got knocked up, I would've got a replacement but due to the short notice I don't have time to host interviews."
"Yeah fine," Ness says rolling her eyes, "I have shit to do; I'll talk to you later."

"Thank god, you're here," Kathleen Cueburt exclaims at the sight of her daughter.
"Here take this," She shoves a clipboard in her daughter's arms. "We're shooting a scene of them in the air port."
"What do I do with this?" she asks flipping through the sheets of paper.
"There's a schedule on the second page, make sure we keep to it," Kathleen says as she walks briskly towards the airport café. Vanessa catches a glimpse of the rockers who had recently hit their forty's. The camera is being set up to her left and she tries her best to stay out of the way.
"Well, as I've said so many times before success isn't anything unless you have someone to share it with," Lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong states,
"That's why I'm bringing my wife and sons with me on this tour."
"My daughter is coming later on this month," Tre Cool, the drummer states meekly. "But my son is here, look! Right over there," The camera man turns the camera to capture the image of a much younger version of the drummer.
"My daughter is coming on tour with us as well," The band's bass player, Mike Dirnt says proudly. "She's starting college this year."
"Mom," I hiss as I look over the schedule, "We have to be at the gate in five minutes."
"Fuck," She mutters as looks at her watch, "Well everyone that's a wrap, we have to get to the gate!" The camera and sound techs pack up their equipment as Green Day and their families make their way to the gate.
