Mike's P.O.V.
I sat in the hospital bed, daydreaming of Anastasia. I hadn't been able to call her yet and I knew that Billie Joe would have forgotten all about her. I sighed and went back to my daydream. Someone knocked on the door. Maybe if I stayed silent they'd go away.
"Mike?" Tre's voice actually sounded caring for a moment. He was worried. About me. Me. Wow, what happened to him?
"Come on, we'll come back later." Billie Joe's voice sounded disappointed. I could imagine the look on Sam's face now. I opened my eyes and looked towards the door. Billie Joe and Tre had their backs turned to me, but Sam was still staring at me.
"Hey, he's awake!" she said excited and I smiled slightly. It hurt a bit to move a lot. They hurried in quickly and crowded around my hospital bed.
"Hey, dude. You alright?" Tre asked me.
"Oh yeah, man. I've fractured my skull, but I'm better than ever," I said very sarcastically.
"Oh, ok, bye," Tre said and walked out of the room. He went down the hallway a bit and tried to peer into some of the rooms. Sam and Billie Joe talked with me for a bit and Tre didn't return. Sam soon left though to find Tre before he caused any trouble.
"I just can't get her," Billie Joe said as soon as Sam was out the door and looking for Tre.
"You will," I said and closed my eyes.
"You want me to go?"
"Nah, just hurts to talk and move. I'm fine," I replied and opened them again.
"Its just, well, Tre's got her. If it wasn't for him... I want her so badly. She should be mine," Billie Joe said and I sighed.
"Just talk to her. Go for a walk to talk about our next song and talk to her about her and Tre," I suggested and Billie Joe smiled.
"That might work. Thanks, man." Billie Joe stood up and headed to the door. "See ya." I nodded and he walked out to find Tre and Sam. I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep. I dreamed about Anastasia, then remembering I hadn't asked any of them to call her. I promised myself not to forget next time they were here.
Sam's P.O.V.
"Hey! There you are!" I shouted and grabbed Tre's arm. He spun around and smiled.
"Hello." Tre looked behind me. "Where's Billie Joe?"
"Dunno," I said, shrugging. Billie Joe shortly appeared by my side and we walked out of the hospital. We got a taxi to NY Royalty and Tre fell over when he got out of the car. That was a good laugh.
"So, uh, Sam. Do you wanna go for a walk? You know, to talk about the lyrics to the next song?" Billie Joe asked me. Tre glanced at him, wondering if he meant what he said.
"Uh, sure." I nodded and Tre hugged me and then kissed me.
"I'm not allowed to put my lyrics in most of our songs," he explained and took the key from me. He walked in the opposite direction of us. I wanted him to come quite badly now.
"You coming?" I realised I was staring at Tre's back and that Billie Joe had started to walk without me. I grinned and turned around. We walked in silence for a long time, neither of us knowing where we were going.
"So." I tried to break the silence but nothing useful came out. I was actually nervous around Billie Joe, but I don't know why.
"So what?" Billie Joe laughed, showing me his cute grin. I smiled a small smile back, but looked back to the ground. "Look, Sam. I really like you, and you know you shouldn't be with Tre. He just got to you first. I know you like me too, and we should be together. What do you say?" I stopped walking because I was quite surprised.
"You know you're wrong," I finally said after a long pause.
"No."
"I mean, yeah I like you, but now after the time I've spent with Tre, I've gotten to know who he is and... I just don't seem to like you like I did the first time I met you," I explained and Billie Joe looked to the ground. He then hugged me, holding me very tight. I then heard him sniff, and I knew he was crying. I hugged him back, not meaning to hurt him like that.
"Hey, it's alright."
"No it's not!" he sniffed. "I feel so stupid now." He let go of me and I let him take a step back from me.
"I'm sorry," I said, but he shook his head.
"You know, during those moments we had, I really thought that we could be something, you know?" he asked me and I nodded.
"Me too, but you should see me and Tre when it's just me and him. There's something there, and it's bigger than our thing," I said and he sighed.
"Come on, we'd better go back," he said grimly.
"With no lyrics at all?" We laughed.
"See, that's what I'm talking about. Anyway... I'll think of something before we get back," Billie Joe said and we walked quickly back to the hotel.
"Anything?" I asked him in the elevator.
"I'm the son of rage and love, the Jesus of Suburbia," he answered and I nodded.
"Not too bad."
"Thanks." We walked into our room and Tre was lying asleep on the couch with the TV still on. I smiled at him as he mumbled something to himself. A smile spread across his face and he hugged his two cushions.
"Tre, wake up," I said sweetly and he slowly woke up.
"Oh, hi. I was just thinking of you," he said and he looked at Billie Joe. He had wandered away to the bathroom to fix up his eyeliner. Tre didn't let go of the two cushions. "Did you two come up with anything?"
"Oh, not really. Got two lines though," I replied and we had a little laugh about that. We had been away for about an hour. No wonder Tre had fallen asleep. Tre sat up, still hugging the two cushions tightly. Billie Joe came back and sighed really loudly.
"Who took my cigarettes?" he asked us. Tre and I both smiled at the same time. Last night we had wasted them all.
"Not me," Tre said and Billie Joe looked at me.
"Don't look at me!" I said. "Why would I steal them?" He didn't know yet that Tre had just gotten me almost addicted to them.
"Tre, give them back, now."
"I don't have them!" Tre couldn't help but grinning very big. Billie Joe raised his eyebrows and Tre decided to confess. "We smoked them all last night."
"Where are your packets then?" Billie Joe asked and headed over to Tre's luggage.
"They're not in there," Tre said, but not convincing enough. Billie Joe opened one of Tre's bags and started to search through it, chucking clothes everywhere. Tre scrambled around the room, trying to get everything back. "Hey stop it!"
"Where are they?" Billie Joe asked and chucked a pair of black three quarter shorts out of Tre's bag. Tre rushed over to them and they joined at least five other pairs of similar black three quarter shorts in his arms.
"We smoked them too," he said as he picked up some socks off the ground. "Now can you stop throwing my shit around the room?"
"Sure." Billie Joe let a t-shirt fall out of his hand. Tre dropped all of his 'shit' into his suitcase and zipped it back.
"Thank you," he said and walked over the couch where I was sitting. He jumped over the back of it and landed next to me with a smile. "So, lets hear these two lines you came up with in an hour."
"I'm the son of rage and love, The Jesus of Suburbia," Billie Joe answered and changed the channel on the TV.
"And how is Sam meant to sing that?" Tre questioned. "She's not a guy you know." I laughed at him. He had acted like he'd only just learnt that.
"That's my line, stupid," Billie Joe said.
"Oh, I see."
