You are always there .......no matter what, chapter 4

Becky looked at Billie shocked by his revelation.
"Becky you ok?" Billie Joe said touching Becky's shoulder
"I'm fine. Just fine."
Becky opened her mouth to say something but she was cut off by her mobile phone ringing.
"Thank god," she thought
She picked up her phone. Her friend was on the other end of the phone. He and Billie Joe didn't like each other...at all
"Hello...um...this isn't a good time Cody," Becky said.
Becky put the phone down
"What did that dick want?" Billie asked looking a bit angry
"He just asked me to the dance," Becky said looking down
"Oh so...I guess you are going with him?"
"Well if no one else...asks me," Becky said hinting at Billie Joe

Billie knew he wanted to ask her. Especially after he saw how beautiful she looked in her dress. He took a deep breath and then took the plunge.
"Well we could go together..." he said looking at Becky
"We always go together...you, and me and Mike" Becky said a bit disappointed
"No I mean just us...as a...a...couple"
"Oh um...yeah maybe," Becky said smiling

Billie smiled but was also worried he had never had a girlfriend or even a date before.
Becky left Billie's house to go home as it was getting late. She lay in her bed thinking about what had just happened and smiled. She wondered what it would be like with Billie Joe as a date. She deliberately left her curtains open so she could see Billie Joe. He always stayed up late.

The next morning Becky got ready for school like every Tuesday. But today would be very different! Becky wondered over to Billie's. He was sitting on the grass outside his house looking slightly upset.

"What's the matter?" Becky asked sitting down
"Oh nothing," he said
"Well let's go to school," Becky said standing up
"Yeah."

Billie Joe attempted to stand up but it caused him great pain. Becky could see that his legs were badly bruised and so was the rest of him except his face.

"Oh my god what happened?" Becky said.
"Nothing."
"Billie Joe please just tell me the truth!" Becky shouted
"That fucker Cody and his mates," he said his eyes filling with tears
"Why?" she said hugging him
"Ow!" he whispered
"I'm sorry!" she said letting go
"They jumped me earlier...when it was dark."
"Is this because of me," Becky said quietly with tears rolling down her cheeks.
"No," he said weakly.
"Billie tell me," she said quietly
"Yeah...it was...he found out that we are going to the dance together."
"Oh Billie..." she said crying.
"Hey it's ok and you know why...because the pain is worth it."

Billie Joe gently kissed her on her forehead. Becky looked up at him and he leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips.
