Miss Morini - Rotting Silence's music teacher

And someone that if I told you who it was would ruin the story line.

"What!? Are you serious!?" Kelly shrieked in disbelief.
"No kidding," Miss Morini, Rotting Silence's music teacher and "manager" said. "I've managed to get us all tickets to California so you can meet Green Day. The idea was given to me by my friend, Doug, who is Green Day's engineer. He said we could come over whenever." Teresa, Kelly, Parmjot and Sophie were extremely dumbstruck, so they jumped around a lot instead. "I'm just gonna go back to the studio for a sec so I can make the last arrangements."
Just before she left the room, Sophie said,
"Do you want us to help pay for anything?" Miss Morini smiled and shook her head.
"Nah, the financial arrangements are just between me and Doug." And with that she left the room. The band got some chairs and sat down to in a group to discuss their luck. None of them could stop smiling.
"This had got to be THE best thing that's ever happened to me!" said Sophie. "This is gonna be so awesome!"
"Hey!" Teresa said in realization, "I can ask Tré for my pen back!" You see, Teresa had met Tré once before in London, and after he signed her International Superhits CD, he didn't give her her pen back. The band laughed and Parmjot turned to Sophie. "You can ask Billie for a crown." Sophie was obsessed with the crown that Billie wore for King for a Day, she never shut up about it. Sophie smiled about the thought of finally owning one. Just then, Miss Morini came back into the room.
"Right you guys, everything's set. We're flying out Sunday evening." The band's mouths all dropped.
"SUNDAY!?" they all said. Their shock turned into excitement; today was Thursday and they only had to wait three more days!
"There's something I need to tell you guys, though." All of them felt nervous suddenly; she sounded really serious.
"What is it?" Kelly asked.
"Well this could be bad news but it could be good news I suppose. You've got to get about five songs to perform to them. I hope you don't mind because Doug asked and I just kind of said you would."
"You've gotta stop dropping surprises on us like this!" Sophie laughed "Sure we'll do it." Miss Morini smiled,
"Oh good. I can let you practise in the small hall after school today and tomorrow if you want." They agreed and went to call their parents to let them know they were staying after school, then they realized something else. Geeze, this was becoming really unorganized.
"Miss, do our parents know about all of this?" Kelly asked.
"They will," she said. She handed them each an envelope addressed to their parents. "I've said that you'd been selected to go to a music workshop in California for gifted and talented musicians. I've said about it being completely free and all of that so there should be no problem in them letting you go." Rotting Silence nodded and went to the pay phone to call their parents.

At lunchtime, Rotting Silence made their way down to the music rooms to get their mini set list together. After they decided which songs they were gonna do, they practised like hell. Anyone that tried to kick them out of the room didn't know what hit them, but those that they knew just got an explanation of the "gifted and talented workshop". So they practiced for an hour with no break, apart from when Miss Morini came in to give them a pep-talk.
"I don't want to go to next lesson," said Teresa when they had finished. "I'm too hyper." They discussed skiving, but with a headmistress like the one they had, it wasn't worth it. So they said 'goodbye' to one another and went to their last lesson.

Parmjot and Sophie were in the same class so it wasn't all bad. They had physics so they didn't have to concentrate much, only when the teacher told them to write something or draw some kind of diagram. Sophie and Parmjot were way too hyper to really do any work, so they tried to amuse themselves. Sophie started singing Dominated Love Slave really loudly to see if the teacher told her off but he didn't seem to hear. A few girls in the row in front gave her some weird looks which just made Parmjot and Sophie laugh harder.
"Hey, Parmjot, did you know that nice guys finish last?" Sophie asked quite loudly.
"Maybe," she replied.
This provoked Sophie to say, "THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT IN ENGLAND, BABEY!" Once again, some girls gave her some weird looks but Sophie did the 'I'm watching you' gesture.
"But we're not in England, are we?" said Parmjot in a shifty kind of way.
"We're not?" asked Sophie, confused.
"No, we're in Never Never Land," she pointed out of the window, "Look! There's Peter Pan!" Sophie put on an indifferent expression.
"Peter Pan is dumb," she folded her arms and put her nose in the air, "I wanna go to Berkeley." But Sophie was cut short.
"Peter Pan is not dumb! I know."
"I don't like Peter Pan."
"I established that. He is cool because he never grows up." Erm... yes. Let's skip to after school.

After last lesson, Parmjot and Sophie made their way to the lockers upstairs to get all their stuff together. They then stood and waited for Teresa and Kelly to arrive so they could walk down to the small hall. When the two of them finally did arrive, Teresa was sporting a sticker saying: Hello! My Name is ST JIMMY!
"Hey, St Jimmy," greeted Sophie, but Teresa didn't seem to hear as she was still laughing about something her and Kelly had previously been talking about. When the four of them turned up in the small hall, Miss Morini had already set up the amps and the drum kit for them. Kelly took out her prized Tré Cool signature drumsticks and started messing about a bit. Teresa, Sophie and Parmjot headed over to the store cupboard where their guitars were. On the way there, they bumped into Miss Morini.
"I've just got an e-mail from Doug. He says that Green Day are actually really looking forward to meeting you and hearing you play. You've got your songs together, yeah?" They nodded,
"We sorted it out at lunchtime, we just need to practice them," said Sophie.
"Well, right now, we need to get our instruments because we just left Kelly playing the drums by herself." Teresa reminded.
"Ok then. I'll meet you guys in there," so Miss Morini walked off to the small hall whilst the other three went to get their guitars. After a few minutes, the whole band was together and rocking out. When they finished their third song, the musical technician that Miss Morini worked with, Mr Lastaukas, came in threw the door.

"Miss Morini, Doug's on the phone back in the studio; he says it's urgent." Miss Morini looked at the band, "I'll be five minutes max." and with that she once again left them. Sophie turned to the others.
"Do you think he's gonna cancel the whole thing?" she genuinely felt worried; she always thought the worst.
"Oh, I hope not," Teresa said, "I wouldn't have thought Miss Morini would just let him cancel without trying to rearrange it, anyway." There was a silence for moment, then,
"Let's play something," Parmjot said, "I don't like just standing around."

The others agreed and they launched into Holiday. They got to the second verse when Miss Morini returned with her mobile phone still to her ear. Rotting Silence went to stop but she signalled them to carry on. They almost mucked up at the solo but managed to get back on track and they delivered probably the best rendition of it that they'd ever performed. The band whooped at their success and Miss Morini laughed.
"Doug said he loved it," she simply said. The girls cheered again, they were now in an extremely hyper mood; then again they often were. Miss Morini turned from the girls for a moment said quite a serious 'goodbye' and put the phone down. "Girls, I have some news." All of their hearts dropped, this couldn't happen now. "I'm gonna have to take the letters to your parents back from you because we're not going to California Sunday evening." The band went very silent, they'd never felt so disappointed. "I'm gonna have to write the letters all out again because we're now leaving Saturday morning!" Well, you can probably imagine how Rotting Silence reacted to that.
