All He has Now is a Memory to Date, chapter 2

Aleita quickly pulled into the parking lot of the hospital, and drove around as fast as she could until she found a spot. Cars beeped at her, but all she did was give them the finger back. Fortunately, she found a parking spot that was just in front of the big white building. She pulled out her key, and got out of the car shoving her keys in her pocket. Pulling open the passenger door she lifted Billie Joe out of the passenger seat that was covered with blood and closed the door with her foot. She walked as fast as she could to the door, luckily without tripping, because of the weight she carried. The hospital door slid open, and she walked through. People that were sitting in the lobby began to sit up in their seats, shocked at what they were seeing.

Behind Aleita, someone had whispered, "I think that's Billie Joe Armstrong!" Then there were gasps.

Aleita walked to the lady sitting behind the desk, and said, "He needs help. Now."
The lady nodded. "Right away, miss." She picked up her phone and called for a doctor.

Aleita sat in the dull waiting room for almost an hour, and played with her fingers nervously. Today... is... awkward. She thought. I found Billie Joe... the greatest rock star on the face of this Earth... on the side of the road. Dead. Now I'm waiting to see if he's still alive. Aleita shook her head quickly to see if she was dreaming.

"Ms. Richards," the doctor called as he walked up to her. She stood up quickly. "Hi. I'm Dr. Coleman." He held out his hand and Aleita shook it.

"Is he okay?" She had a worry written all over her face.

"I think he will be perfectly fine. We just have to wait for results from the other doctors." Aleita tensed.

"Do you know Mr. Armstrong? As in do you have a personal relationship with him?" She shook her head.

"I see. You're a good person. If you haven't brought him here he could have died. He would have lost a lot of blood. My kids wouldn't have been very happy. They love Green Day," He laughed. "Luckily, I think he'll only get some bruises, and a big bump on his forehead," The doctor smiled. "Do you know anyone in his family, or any of his friends that we can contact?"

Aleita thought for a moment. "I don't have any numbers. Only names." Dr. Coleman asked for their names. "Adrienne Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt." The doctor gave her a confused look.

"Tre... Cool?" Duh. She thought. That's not his real name.

"Oh, I mean, Frank Wright, and Michael Pritchard," He nodded and thanked her for the information. "Can I see him?" He nodded and pointed to the direction where Billie's room was, and she walked off.

"Okay, I'm about to see my all-time hero, in a hospital bed." She stopped and stared at a door leading into a room where Billie was laying, asleep. She took a deep breath, and walked into the room and closed the door behind her. Looking at the still body, her feet wouldn't budge.

Then she finally got the courage to move towards the chair next to the bed. She sat down, and looked at Billie Joe. He has blue hair. It made her smile. The doctor had taken out his nose ring, and placed it on the table that was on the side of his bed. Aleita knew he was going to be okay, and she relaxed, and watched the sleeping punk rocker. He began to lightly snore, and she chuckled.

Aleita decided to wait with him until his family came, and wait for the results. So she turned on the TV and watched the news.
Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead vocals and guitarist of Green Day was found by Aleita Richards, and was brought to the hospital today. Some doctors are saying he will be okay, but some are still discussing the situation. Results will be brought to you soon.
Wow. Aleita thought. News goes out fast.

"Miss Richards?" another doctor called from outside of the room. She got up and walked over to the doctor. "Hi. I'm Doctor Taylors. We have the results for Mr. Armstrong. Now I know that you don't personally know him, but you brought him here and I wondered if you wanted to hear the results?" She nodded with a worried look. "Well, Billie Joe does not have any permanent damage." Aleita let out a big sigh.

"Thank god."

"He may need some help with things, because it was a big crash. But besides that, he will be alright." Aleita smiled with great relief. She thanked the doctor, and went back into Billie's room. Aleita sat there for a while, watching TV, flipping through the channels.
After an hour or so of surfing the channels and the hospital TV, Aleita had heard Billie let out a moan. She quickly turned around to see if he was okay. He rubbed his head.

"Ah, shit!" he sat up, and I got off my chair to help him. I fixed his pillow, so he relaxed as he sat up.

"What the fuck am I doing in a hospital bed?! What's going on? Who the hell are you?" Billie paused. "Who the hell am I?"

"Hi, Mr. Armstrong. I- I'm Aeita Richa-" Aleita became confused. "Did you just ask who you were?" Billie Joe nodded. "You're Billie Joe Armstrong..." Aleita was weirded out. Billie still looked confused. He raised an eyebrow at Aleita. "You're in the band Green Day... you were just recently married... "

"I am? I was?" Billie looked at Aleita up and down. "Are you my wife?"

"Uh, no." I wish, Aleita thought.

"Oh." Oh, God. What the fuck is happening? Billie Joe can't remember anything! What is going to happen after this? Aleita panicked. She let Billie watch TV, and she ran off to Dr. Coleman.

"Doctor Coleman! Doctor Coleman!" Aleita ran through the whole hospital until she found him. She stopped by a few doctors to ask where Dr. Coleman was, but it didn't always help.

"Yes?" His face filled with worry.

"Billie Joe..." Aleita caught her breath and she calmed down. Well, not really. "He lost his memory!" She screamed. Some people behind her had looked at her with an eyebrow raised, and some even gasped.

"Oh, dear," The doctor thought for a moment. "I'm going to go talk to the doctors, and I'll talk to you about the whole thing, okay? Meanwhile, his friends and family are heading over here. I think they will take turns visiting Mr. Armstrong, so I want you to stay with him, because right now, all he can remember is you." She nodded and headed back towards the hospital room where Billie lay dazed and confused. She walked in the door. Wow, I must be special. Billie Joe can only remember me, Aleita thought. I can't think that! This is a bad thing! Now funny remarks, Aleita! She sat on the chair next to Billie's bed, and calmed down.

"I think I just saw me on the television," Billie stated. "Why is my name not spelled B-I-L-L-Y?"

"Even I wonder that sometimes," She chuckled.

Aleita took in a deep breath. "Billie," she began. "You've lost your memory. And... the doctor told me that I have to stay with you right now because all you remember right now is me." Billie nodded.

After a moment of silence, a woman with black dreads swung open the door, and ran into the room. Her eyes widened. "Holy shit! Oh my God, Billie!" She began towards Billie, and Aleita got up quickly and stopped her from coming too close to him. The lady jerked her head to Aleita and cocked an eyebrow.

"Who're you?" The lady asked. Aleita dragged the lady out of the hospital room.

"Hi, Mrs. Adrienne Armstrong, I'm Aleita Richards. I saw Billie by the road, and I was the one that brought him to the hospital." Aleita said nervously.

"Oh," Adrienne sighed. "Thank you so much." She hugged Aleita.

"Um, the doctors said that he would be totally fine, after a couple of days because it was a hard crash. But," Aleita stopped.

Adrienne's eyes widened. "But WHAT?"

Aleita took in a deep breath. "He... um... he lost his memory."

*

Aleita sat in the chair next to Billie, while Billie and her watched the television. "Who was that lady that came in here?"

"She's your wife," Aleita answered, still looking towards the television.

"Why'd she leave?" Billie asked as he continued to watch TV.

"She told me that she's really sad that you lost your memory, so she is going out for a little bit."

"Oh. Hm, weird. She's my wife? It's too bad I've never seen her before," Billie laughed.

"You idiot, you lost your memory, remember?"

"Who're you calling in idiot! You're telling me to remember something when I lost my memory!" Billie laughed. Aleita stuck her tongue out to Billie and laughed too.

As soon as the laughing stopped, two guys came into the room. One was a skinny dirty blonde, almost brown-haired boy. He wore a white plain t-shirt, and some torn up jeans. The other had green hair that was spiked up. He wore an oversized green t-shirt, and some khaki shorts.

"Hey, BJ! Are you okay?" They went to the side of the bed, where Aleita wasn't.

"Hi, Mr. Cool and Mr. Dirnt. I was the one that brought Billie to the hospital," Mike held out his hand and Aleita shook it. Tre did the same. "I've got some good news and some bad news. Do you mind if we talk outside?" They nodded and headed out the door.

"What's up?" Tre asked.

"Um, Billie Joe had a pretty bad accident, but luckily, he'll be okay... except for one little thing," She paused and Mike and Tre told her to continue. "He kinda, lost his memory."

Inside the room, Billie flipped through the TV channels, and the heard someone scream outside of his room, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!"

Aleita winced at the scream. "Dude, Mike, chill," Tre spoke. "She couldn't do anything about it. It just happens. It's not like it's going to be permanent or anything..." He looked over to Aleita. "Right?" She shrugged.

"The doctor told me to stay with Billie for now, and he's going to tell me what's going on," Mike nodded.
"I can go 'introduce' you to Billie, and you can stay in the room with me," Both nodded and walked in the door with Aleita.

"Billie, this is Mike and Tre. They're gonna stay with us," She introduced the two boys, and they nervously smiled, and waved.

"Okay, cool," Billie smiled and shook their hands, and continued to watch TV.
