They finished the food and were sitting in the same restaurant drinking some wine and just chatting softly.
"I'll never forget the day you asked me to marry you," Adie said with a smirk, thinking back to the day many years ago.
"Shit Adie..." Billie said laughing a little his mind carrying him back too.
Adie and Billie were now dating for a couple years and were still madly in love with each other. They had gotten a record deal with Reprise Records and were ecstatic. Though, the thought of Gilman thinking they were sell-outs, still hurt, a lot.
"I want to be your dominated love slave..." Tré sang on the new, small tour bus on the way back to California.
Billie just looked at him and threw a piece of pizza at him, hitting him square in the face. "Why?" Tré asked dramatically looking up to the sky throwing his hands up.
"Why Tré, you sing way too much," Mike retorted from the driver's seat. Tre grumbled and sat back in the corner of the vehicle pouting.
"No one here likes my singing, only the fans do," Tré said sadly, still pouting crossing his arms over his bare chest.
Billie rolled his eyes but then a thought came to his head.
"Oh I forgot to tell you, Adie's coming back to California, she's going to be there when we get back," he shouted happily. The guys just gave him looks of confusion. After a minute they changed to happiness.
"Wow, congrats BJ, you going to pop the question?" Tré asked which received a black, worn converse thrown at him by the bassist.
"Umm..." Billie said nervously his face starting to glow a bright shade of red, he brought out a blue velvet box and opened it up, Tré's eyes widened bigger than anyone thought they could and Mike slammed the brakes sending Tre forward into Billie.
"Holy shit," was all he muttered.
"I can't believe you're moving Adie after what he did," Erica said just coming back from her first job as a photographer for the local paper.
"Neither can I, but I'm so fucking excited," she said dreamily thinking of seeing her boyfriend again.
The couple had a split that hurt both of them tremendously.
The boys put out Dookie and went on tour and Adie went back to Minnesota, had a boyfriend. Then Billie came back for her forgiveness and she dumped Davey, her fiancée.
"When do you leave?" Erica asked looking at her own engagement ring to John.
"Tomorrow, Ollie's picking me up and dropping me off at the guys's apartment before they get back," Adrienne informed her best friend while packing some of the necessities such as eyeliner, more eyeliner and clothes.
"Well girl, I'll miss you so damn much, come back for the wedding!" Erica exclaimed giving her a hug.
"Erica, hun, I'm not gone yet," Adrienne laughed.
The next day a tired Green Day trio got off the bus, still living in an apartment, even after the success of Dookie.
They stumbled to the door, Billie in the most hurry and tore it open, there standing there in all her glory, was Adrienne Nesser, her and Billie ran to each other. Billie lifted her off her feet and they kissed.
"I missed you," he muttered to her, staring in her deep brown eyes.
"Wasn't the same without you babe," she muttered back, giving him another kiss.
"Get a room!" Tré shouted appearing behind him, grinning. "Hey Adie," he said and gave the older woman a hug.
Mike came in the room, and hugged her as well. "Missed you," he said and kissed her cheek. She smiled, "Couldn't live without my Mikey," she joked.
"Guys," Billie spoke up, "I want to take Adie out to dinner tonight, so I can't cook for you," Tré groaned.
"That means Mike's going to have to cook," he said eyeing the bassist.
"Oh no Tré, we are going on a date of our own," he said slyly.
Tre blushed and giggled like a school girl.
A couple hours later, Adrienne decided to call Erica,
"Hello?" the voice of her friend answered after the monotone dial tone rang in her ear.
"Erica!" Adie shouted a little too loud.
"Adie! I know you want to talk to me but I have to hear it," she joked, "How's Cali?" she asked.
"Billie wants to take me out to dinner tonight," Adie said giggling.
"You don't think..." Erica started, remembering John did the same thing to her.
"I don't know but if he does...Oh my god!" she shouted laughing her ass off.
Billie poked his head in the room, "You okay there, baby? Sounded a little 'excited' there for a second,"
Adrienne threw a pillow at him, "You pervert," she exclaimed. She heard Erica giggling on the other end.
"Adie...oh god...I think I have to go now," she said.
"Okay, Erica, you have a good time now," Adie said knowing exactly what, hearing a mans voice in the background,
"I will Adie, bye!" And she hung up.
"Ready Adie?" Billie asked all dressed up.
She nodded taking his hand and they walked to his car. He opened the door for her, "The door my lady," he said with a fake English accent.
"Thank you dear sir," she replied and then he closed the door and got in the other side.
They arrived at a fancy restaurant, he gave the keys to the valet and they walked inside.
"Yes, a reservation for Armstrong," Billie said politely to the hostess.
She looked at a sheet of paper, "Ah yes, follow me," she said grabbing two menus.
Adrienne for one, was impressed, he had this all planned out for her. The hostess sat them in a booth. Billie gave Adie a kiss.
They finished their food and Billie paid and they left.
"Thank you so much BJ," Adie said softly as they walked through the park.
"No problem baby," he said. Then stopped, "Adie, you love me right?" he asked.
"Oh yeah, I do, you should know that," Adie said surprised at the question.
"Good because I love you too, that's why I'm doing this," he got down on one knee, "Adrienne, when I saw you at that concert 3 years ago my heart stopped. I saw this beautiful girl with brown hair and amazing brown eyes, and I thought to myself, 'God damn Billie you got to get to know this girl,' and I did. So Adrienne Nesser, I want to get to know you, that brown haired brown eyed girl from Minnesota for my whole life, I love you so much, even after death takes us, I'll still love you with my whole heart. Answer this truthfully Adie, will you be my wife? Will you stay with me forever? Will you marry me?" He ended opening up the velvet box showing the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.
Tears filled her brown eyes, and she stared into the man that she loved with her whole heart. "Yes, Yes, Yes, I'll be Mrs. Adrienne Armstrong," and with that she flung herself on him knocking them to the ground. Some how in the process the right was slipped onto her finger, and fit snugly.
"And you notice Adie dear, we are sitting in the exact same booth," Billie pointed out.
Adrienne looked and gasped, she looked into her husbands sparkling green eyes partly covered by black hair.
"I never noticed, aw, Billie you're so sweet," she said reaching across the table and kissing him.
"Sorry to interrupt but you happen to be Billie Joe Armstrong?" they turned, and standing there was a girl about 8 years old.
"Yes I am," he responds to the girl and smiles as her eyes light up.
"I'm Harriet and I'm a huge fan of yours, can I please get your autograph," she asks.
"Of course," he takes out a pen and writes her a little note.
She turns to Adie, "Adrienne, you seem like an awesome woman, can I get yours too?" she asks smiling huge now.
"Of course dear," she says and signs the napkin under Billie's name.
"Thank you! Oh and happy anniversary," she says and runs off at her mothers call.
Adie and Billie go back to kissing each other.
