Adrienne felt arms go around her waist as she ran, she felt herself being lifted off the ground. "Billie!" she yelled, he grinned at her in the dark, "Let me go!"
"Nope!" he said keeping a firm hold on her.
She turned around carefully and kissed him, "We have too many damn memories hun," she said.
"Yeah, like our first anniversary, and the day that Joey took his first steps," he grinned, green eyes shining in the dark.
"Oh yes, what a day that was, and the day he said 'fuck' thanks to Tre." Billie just laughed at that.
Adrienne woke up to the sun and to eyes peering into hers, it was her sons.
"Hi Joey," she said grabbing him and tickling him.
He giggled, "Gah," he shrieked.
"Happy anniversary baby," another man's voice came and in walked Billie, balancing a tray full of food.
"Think I'm going to eat all that?" Adrienne asked raising an eyebrow to her husband of now one year.
"No, I'm going to help you and so is Joey," he said, taking his son and placing him in the middle.
And there was the Armstrong family eating food in their bed on a Monday morning. It was all going so peacefully when the phone rang.
Billie just reached over and answered with a, "What?" which received a smack by Adrienne
"Hi Mike... what! I didn't know... Well... it's our anniversary... Thanks... Ooh can you and Tre watch Joey tonight while we go out... Really... That'd be awesome man... ok... bye," and hung up. He turned back to Adrienne, "I was supposed to go to Mike's this morning, but you're more important," he mentioned.
"Yes I should be, you have to go back on tour in a couple weeks," she moped, "but... I called my mom and Joey and I are going to visit her," Billie nodded his mouth full of waffle and it turned quiet.
Then Adrienne suddenly yelled, "Billie get Joey!" she said as he was getting off the bed, but the 1 year old surprised them all by walking to the door.
Billie looked from a giggling Joey to a dumbstruck Adrienne, "Did you... " he mumbled, "see?" he said pointing to his son.
"Yes, Holy sh... crap," she said then ran out of the bed, "Oh God Joey!" she exclaimed joyously, picking him up.
Billie just grinned from the bed and hugged his son when Adrienne brought him over to him.
That celebration lasted for awhile until they needed to get ready and Billie needed to go meet Mike and Tre.
"I'll be back and we'll go out," Billie said kissing his wife and kid and walked out the door.
While he was gone Adrienne and Joey went to the grocery store, got tons of food for the house. "Want some crackers Joey?" Adrienne asked Joey who was sitting in the metal seat of the cart on the way out to the store.
"Yeah!" he shouted holding his arms out to the crackers that Adie was opening in a green box.
They got home and a couple hours later Billie and Adrienne went out celebrating their 1 year of marriage. "This is wonderful Billie," Adrienne said over a cup of wine, Billie smiled and drank his coke; he said he'd drive tonight, letting his wife drink.
"I know I am," he smirked.
"Yes you are, in more than one way," she said with that smile he loved.
It took him a minute and then he realized what she said, "Adie not here, because here I can't do what I want to do, and now... shit... thanks Adie," he mumbled and crossed his arms. She laughed at him.
They arrived home to a very hyperactive Joey, "Mama! Dada!" he yelled walking over to them.
"Hey Joe," they said and Tre looked up sleepily.
"Your kid wears me out, and uh... he learned a new word," he mumbled nervously.
"And that would be?" Billie asked and then looked down at his son's innocent brown eyes.
"What is it Joey?" Adrienne asked.
"Fuck!" he yelled, Adrienne's mouth dropped.
"Tre... " Billie said.
"What! I stubbed my toe and it uh... slipped, so I guess I'll be going now," he said trying to slip by an angry Billie.
"I don't think so Frank," Billie said, and chased the drummer tackling him to the ground and started poking him.
"Billie... " Tre groaned and put his elbow on the ground his hand resting under his chin and tapped his other fingers on the ground. Poking annoyed the shit out of him.
"I still don't forgive him for saying that," Billie said and looked at the time.
"Shit, baby, we need to get back," he said, threw Adie over his shoulder and ran for the car.
And so there ended Adrienne and Billie Joe Armstrong's 12th anniversary.
Though there were so many memories to go through the clock struck midnight and they needed to go on.
"Nope!" he said keeping a firm hold on her.
