Another kind of Idiot. (Sequel to Loser. Weirdo. Faggot.), chapter 9
Tre's head shifted upwards, towards where Billie was sitting. He was fast asleep, mostly from pure exhaustion. Tre found himself cooing a little. He looked so unbelievably innocent when he slept. The anger, the pain, whatever confusion or question on his mind was there, it all dissolved once he started drifting off. He was never bothered when he slept.
Mike had been the first one to ask Billie the question, when they were all sitting there, hours ago. It still wasn't sinking in about John's departure. It would be best for them to go somewhere. Take a small tour. For the band's sake, and for Billie's. It helped to keep yourself busy after something bad happened.
He had silently agreed, as much as his eyes seemed to cry out. They would take a tour. Bring Casey along. And her other friend. It was so much better than sitting around, crying over something no one could help. The point was, however, that Billie didn't know where he was eventually being taken.
He squirmed a little, making Tre jump. The back of his head had been resting on Billie's arm, feeling all of a sudden sleepy. He grimaced. "Mike, are you sure this would be good for Billie? I mean, it could really make or break a guy."
Mike nodded his head, preoccupied with talking on the phone to Natalie, Casey's friend, and former bandmate. He had to break the news. A huge wave of sound came from the other end. Obviously she was excited about going on tour. "Yeah... " Mike muttered, unable to wipe the sly smirk off his face. Casey sure new some characters.
Tre was now interested. "You talking to Natalie?" His eyes brightened. He let out a giggle, almost sounding comical. "The one who likes," He made a small gesture up to point to Billie. "Him?" Mike grinned, but the rest of his face showed a 'shut-the-hell-up-look'.
Tre put a hand over his mouth. They were taking a tour. But they were also going to see Adrienne. Billie wanted to see her. He needed to see her. He was in the dark about seeing her. No one new just yet, however, if he would be overjoyed, or dive into a frenzy of nervousness. They all guessed a little of both.
"You know, if this Adie chick is the wrong one for him, we could always fix him up with another girl." Tre seemed to think it was hilarious, making his voice louder during the last part. Mike didn't. He shook his head back at Tre, and cracked a smile, this time real. He made an effort to stick his tongue out at him.
"Fucker," He muttered, glaring playfully. Casey, who had been sitting with them, lazily watching as Billie had drifted off to sleep, seemed to have a sudden interest with Mike. She lightly turned over and kissed him on the cheek, distracting him from the phone for a second. He slung his arm back around her.
Casey looked down to examine her fingers, clearly wanting more action. "Bored bored bored bored bored... " She trailed off, annoying him by repeating random words over and over. A snicker caught both her and Tre's face.
"Bitch," She said blatantly, pointing at Tre. He gasped. There needed to be some lightheartedness in the situation. And this was the time for it.
"Whore." He bounced back with a comeback of his own, mocking her. She broke out into a burst of laughter. He was acting more feminine then she could stand, complete with batting eyes and jokingly flipping as much of his lately re-dyed bright green hair as he could.
Mike set down the phone back onto the rotary, surprised that Billie hadn't been woken up at them throwing swearwords around the room. Loudly. "Can't you two behave yourselves?" He asked, shaking his head, but not being able to hold in cracking up as he did so.
"Nope." Tre shrugged, his face looking like the picture of innocence.
